  1. Call aspensnowmass reservations. They have access to last minute deals and availability that you wouldn't normally see on their website.
  2. I'll be there from the 2-9th. I'd be down for trying the aspen ice karting. I'm thinking of taking a rest day somewhere. Are you open for doing this any other day? I won't be there until late evening on the 2nd. Also, should we setup an official/unofficial ride/meetup schedule? I'd hate for all of us to be fragmented throughout the four mountains. And we should all at least meetup for drinks and food one night. Not sure i want to do demo boards. Last time i wasted a lot of time switching between demo boards and later regretted not having just stuck with my board and enjoyed the snow.
  3. So with the big "lack of snow" is everyone on this thread still planning on going in early feb? I hesitant to get anything booked right now. I realize 1 or 2 big storms could change things and this is still a month out.....
  4. I'm pretty sure i did a misty flip to lawn chair last year. Ended up with a messed up quadratus lumborum and a bruised hip. my entire lower back seized up a few days after i got back from the trip.
  5. I was just at aspen all of last week. I never left snowmass. Really good conditions. The runs at snowmass are very wide open. Here's what i did: In the morning take the sheer bliss chair all the way to the top, check the board for which runs are groomed off of the big burn chair. Take max park all the way down to the big burn chair and lap whatever groomed runs are there. Usually, sneakys is always groomed and it is the more mellow out of all those blue runs. Whispering jesse and dallas freeway are also really good. Some really nice wide open carving before you get to the steeper parts at the end. I stuck to that side of the mountain in the morning as most newbees in the morning would go to the elk side. Then, delay lunch between 12-130 as everyone takes a break, head over to the elk camp gondola then the elk camp chair and do all the runs off that chair. Bull run, if groomed, is freaking amazing. wide open with sparse trees. I had blast carving in between trees. Plus, they usually have one of the employees at the end of the run taking pictures. (if you feel like paying hundreds for a few pictures) PM if you want more beta on snowmass. I can't speak much to the other resorts. Oh and don't waste your time with the cirque lift. You can get equally impressive, if not better views, from the elk camp chair.
  6. Just curious what others on here would recommend for a first time buyer. I'm looking to sharpen and tune the edges on all my boards before storing them for the summer.
  7. I really want to try this. Wonder how it would perform on a skied out powder day in the bumps.
  8. Lol If there's enough interest, i'm willing to call a few places and see if we can get a package price going.
  9. Just curious if anyone would be up for a trip to south america in the july-oct timeframe. It would be cool if we could get a group together and organize something. I have never been to South America. I have read that some of the resorts in Argentina and Chile are quite nice. Thoughts and/or Suggestions?
  10. It was great! I wish i would have stayed an extra week. I didn't even try the other mountains because i liked snowmass so much.
  11. Just curious what everyone does for summer storage. Mainly to keep the edges from rusting. Anything special you do with bindings?
  12. I'm in Aspen in this week. Staying in snowmass. I'll be hitting up all four mountains. If anyone will be riding out here this week, let me know and lets meet up.
  13. Still available. I'll be in Aspen starting on Sunday.....
  14. I was at the bomber event at 7springs a few weeks ago. One of the guys at one of the lifts was obsessed with the td3 step in bindings, of all things. Every time i went up he would start yelling, "MAN THOSE BINDINGS ARE AWESOME, I LOVE THEM, I WANT THEM." And throughout the day, he would always yell, "I WANT THOSE BINDINGS". I was actually starting to get a bit worried that he was gonna try to steal my bindings. And at the local hill, i always have kids asking me why i'm riding a snowboard with Ski boots. Also had one skier complain on the ride up with me that i leave trenches that are too deep. This baffled me as my trenches are not really that deep at all. \_(ツ)_/¯
  15. Awesome. I'll be investing in a hydration pack.
  16. I guess i'll look into renting a car a making the drive. Should be a nice drive though.
  17. I'll be in aspen starting the 19th of this month. I would like to make the bomber event in loveland on the 20th. Just curious if anyone also happens to be in the aspen area and going to the event. If so, may i hitch a ride? I'll pay for gas. PM me if interested.
  18. Booked a trip to aspen. Fingers crossed for weather, though so far it's looking ok.
  19. I wasn't aware of the list on carvers almanac. Thanks!
