  1. Mine a fairly good now after remolding and my heel no longer feels like it's being tortured. Though, i will still be getting a bigger pair of boots, these should hold me over until then.
  2. Carp, i willing to bet that your boot fitter is not letting the liners heat up properly. I realized, after i molded the liners on my own, that the original fitter i took this too did not let them heat up enough. I know this, because when i followed the oven method, the liners expanded a lot and "unwrapped" themselves. If done properly, the liners should feel very squishy, or like fake breasts. Try the oven method yourself after getting some jpads.
  3. So the intuitions that i got did not help much. Even after molding. What did help a lot, was remolding the stock liners that came with the boots. I used the Oven method that has been circulated around here. The lines expanded quite a bit after 10 minutes in the oven and had a very squishy consistency. I slid some of those heel J shaped pads on my right heel, and proceeded with the boot fitting process. And now i can actually stand being in my boots for more than 5 minutes. They still get a little painful after a few hours, but at least i can stand it.
  4. Looking for size 27 hardboots as my my size 26 track 325's are just too tight for me. Also willing to trade if you are in the opposite situation as me.
  5. I know this is a long shot, but i have finally come to accept the fact that i bought my track 325's one mondo size too small. :-(. I should have gotten a 27. I was wondering if there was anyone out there in the opposite situation as me. Perhaps we can trade? And if not the same boot maybe something similar? In my current setup i suffer from Heel pain, as in the boot is just too tight around my heels. Even after purchasing intuition liners and heat molding the liners, i still have the problem. (though the intuitions helped a little). Just curious. My boots have maybe 10-15 days of riding on them.
  6. I just got some intuition liners and was planning on using the rice method. I thought i read somewhere that you are not supposed to bake them in the oven as that can ruin them.
  7. Went again this morning. Stayed on snowpark most of the time. Snow was great until about 930 when it started warming up. Tried limelight once and it was really soft at the top. There was a temp inversion on that side of the "mountain". Rob and Jason were also there, carving some nice trenches. Will be there again on Friday, most likely.
  8. I ordered the intuitions. At the end of the session today, i had the guy at the shop heat up the liners for me for about 10 or so minutes, and he gave me some of those j shaped pads to wear inside my socks. Slipped into my boots and really buckled them down and had a board under my toes. after 10 painful minutes, took them off. I'll see if they are better tomorrow. My boots did feel a little better today, but i think i was just ignoring the constant pain.
  9. Went this morning, had first chair. Stayed on snowpark all day until 1015ish when the hordes showed. Also had a few rides with fellow hardbooters: Rob (who was ripping it up on a skwal) and Jason on his custom Donek. Great session. Snow was great for carving. Was told that limelight was still not that great. At first i was having issues with turn initiation and sliding a bit, then jason reminded me to crouch into the turn and extend to really lock in the edge and that made all the difference. I'll be there again tomorrow morning (if i wake up).
  10. Will do. And yes, i meant that my liners were heat molded to my feet.
  11. Guess it's time to order some intuitions.
  12. No i haven't. and yes these boots have already been heat molded. Perhaps i can go back and get them remolded
  13. Hello, I have a pair of deeluxe track 325 boots. And i have an issue where the heels of the boots are just way too tight. To the point that after about 1.5 hours i have to take a break due to some pretty bad pain. Specifically, it squeezes my heel just above the bottom of my foot. It's worse on my right foot. I have had these boots heat molded and i also have footbeds for them. (They were molded with the footbed inside) To me it looks like the liner is just waaaaaay to thick in that area. Any suggestions on how to either really pack out the liner in that area or stretch the shell? I'm using thermoflex liners (came with the boots) Or is there another liner that isn't as thick? I do wear pretty thin ski socks with these. These boots are relatively new. Have only worn them about 5-6 times now so i understand they will pack out some more, but it shouldn't hurt this much, even without buckling down tight. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
  14. hmm, maybe i'll go tonight instead.
  15. Went to Whitetail this morning. Finally got to try my coiler in proper snow. And it was great. I had a few runs with a fellow carver; Jason, (or jefferson?). Either way, he followed me on a few runs and gave a few pointers for transitioning between front/heel side. I was carving really well and towards the end it no longer felt awkward and i was starting to get pretty low. Pius, your advice from last season has been amazingly helpful. Not only for hardboot but also for softboot setup. Mainly, it improved my heelside carves tenfold when i remembered what you told me: To reach with my left hand towards the front of my boot and focus weight on my right heel. (i'm goofy, for those of you that don't know). I transitioned to my softboot setup towards the end and lapped limelight a few times before leaving. I mostly stayed on snowpark while i was getting a feel for the coiler. Only issue i had was with my deluxe boots. They are just way too tight around my heel area towards the bottom of my foot. I hope they pack out a bit more. I have had them heat molded and that helped a little. I think the shell needs some widening. I plan on going to Whitetail Saturday morning and being there at 8.
  16. i might make it out tonight or tomorrow morning. They just now started plowing our streets.
  17. I plan on being there on Friday all day. Will be there at open. I plan on taking the Coiler you help me setup at the end of the season, Pius. But i'll probably need some help getting it all setup again. let me know when you plan on going next. I think you still have my number. I'll also have my soft boot setup to warm up. The only time i rode the Coiler was in the really slushy stuff at the end of last season.
  18. I use to surf quite a bit when i lived in florida. Mostly in the cocoa beach area. I mostly rode a 10ft longboard shaped by Tom Neilson. Amazing ride that i had to sell since i'm now in DC and don't surf anymore. I'm in full agreement of queequeg. Snowboarders have the luxury of an almost fully static unchanging slope. (minus snow conditions). For me, the hardest part of surfing is reading the wave and getting into the right position. A floaty longboard helps in that regard to get you on the wave a bit earlier and maneuver accordingly. There is nothing quite like that feeling you get when riding wave for an extended period of time. And yes, paddling is probably the most overlooked thing. And to be honest, my paddle is not the best. It was improved tremendously when i did a trip to costa rica and i had a few instructors.
  19. So just wanted to give an update. One of the forum members on here, piusthecarver, offered to have me come over and help me get all my equipment setup and he explained quite a few concepts that would not have made sense just by reading. Yesterday, i had my second day on my new setup, and after a few adjustments, this is what i ended up with: Binding angles 45/50 Stance width 18.5" Gilmour Bias 3 degrees heel lift in rear, 3 degrees toe lift on front And i installed the bomber bts spring system in my track 325's. Yellow toe spring, blue heel. (though i'm going to switch it to yellow) Conditions yesterday, at whitetail, were 3-4 inches of wet pow over a barely frozen spring slush base. It was a much better experience this time around. Still a bit awkward at the beginning but that feeling started going away towards the end of my session. What really helped was when i remembered to keep shoulders level with the hill. I was doing some decent carves, judging by the lines i was leaving. The soft conditions probably made it easier. I might get one more session in at Snowshoe, depending on what the temps decide to do. Thanks to all of you that have chimed in on technique and setup. This forum is an excellent resource. Once i get some video, i will post it for some critique. :-D
  20. Where would you go for some summer carving? It sounds like Chile or any of the places in south america are pretty nice in the summer, or perhaps New Zealand. Has anyone been to Mt Hood in the summer? I heard it's ok but sounds like it might be crowded with summer camps and ski team practices. Just curious.
  21. 2. This sounds exactly like my problem. I'm expecting to initiate the turn solely by ankle movement, which is probably why i did better in "walk mode". I Really, i just need to learn the proper technique and eventually it won't feel awkward, but most importantly, i need to get my stance, angles and cants setup properly.
  22. Well i don't have carpet, unfortunately. :-P But yeah, i'm going to spend some time in front of the tv playing around with the setup.
  23. Ah my bad, thought i had posted my height in the first post. yeah i normally ride 18.5 for my soft setups. I'll play with angles next time i go out.
  24. That's probably what i'm trying to do. Next time i go out i'll get some video. Blue, medium stiffness. I'm sure there are people/kids out there that ride with 17" stance. Remember, i'm only 5'5" and my legs are on the shorter side. I ordered the bomber bts kit.
  25. Cool. I'll give this a shot. Unfortunately only have one canted disc for my td3's. Just ordered another one.
