  1. This is interesting from a different aspect than right MP size. Dingbat, please chime in! I suffer from heel lift even after Superfeet custom Corks and Intuition Plugs. I can not stand or suffer through tight toe box. My big toe nails wont tolerate it. So I have to make sure there is some wiggle room in the toe. For the life of me, I cant get the float out of the ankle and have tried to compensate by using more of the rest of me and less of my feet to keep my heels anchored....... I tried heel lifts and I hated it..... tried cants every which way, front and back. My conclusion is to ride bent at the knee always and when the heel starts lifting, adjust evrything else to compensate.... drop down and go from there.... that doesnt seem right.
  2. All good pointers and Im happy everyone chimed in so fast! Bindings are parallel we do practice toe side slides Boa Boots.... much eaiser for me and they get to decide comfort/fit They both have figure skating coaches since they were 5 and love it! Not to bone the instructor thing... but here... 1 instructor and 3 to 4 Groms.... watching it.... useless. Instructor is overwhelmed and the kids suffer. On my own, I have brought the girls to where thay are now with little help from the Ding Dongs that are supposed to be lifties..... some kiddie trauma there, for sure!......... Dude, scoop the child on your side and I will deal with the one in the middle. How hard can it be? I did it when I swung chairs. I know they will get it eventually on their own, but they are missing the ride and have the skill. It drives me nuts that I cant help it along. Love em and am very patient with them. Its all about the fun!
  3. .... but then I havent owned a pair of skis for a very long time. Just trying to imagine how I would accomplish the hoop on a set of softies.
  4. Hey, thanks.... dont want a new board like that! the girls will only either point it straight down the fall line or rock back on their heels. They actually prefer the steeper stuff to really lame green.... carnage or skid on the heel. Depends on the last epic wipe out!
  5. Couple of questions about a thing or two concerning the Coiler VSR Snakeskin and such. Primarily, in all honesty, a board built for 200 lbs can still mean many things. Would you consider yourself very accomplished and agressive in the carve or so-so or what? The reason Im asking is because Im 185. If your Gonzo on the board and Im not, The board maybe more than I want to handle. I did ride a demo of this last year and liked it, but then I didnt pay enough attention to specs. Im thinkin the one I rode was a 175.

  6. I have twinn 10 yr.girls that are "falling leafs" and for the life of me, I can not get them to commit to toe side. Im thinkin it doesnt help that Im on Step-ins and a carving board...... it just isnt the same.... but Its nice to be able to pop out and pick up the carnage! So, my issue is.... Im lookin for a suedo carving board that will perform as a skidder, Im thinking I want to equip it with Bomber risers with Flow Amp 5's that I have from awhile ago. I do have a metal Coiler AM. IDK..... Sorry Bruce, just askin! So any advice on a board that I can pretend to be a skidder and maybe carve a little too would be much appreciated!
  7. Why dont you just ask the guy if the bloody boot fits him with what ever liner is in there, what size is the liner and what is his MP? Simple! If he ownes the boots then wouldnt that be a very good reference? I have a 27 MP and my UPZ RC10's are 27. My liner is an Intuition Plug, size10..... wich according to Intuition's chart is larger than 27. .... But then I also have a 9.5, brand new Intuition liner that is supposed to be a 27 and is to short. Dibs anyone?
  8. Awaiting payment info. Cant pay untill I know where to send the funds!
  9. hey, sent you an email from my gmail account with price and such...... mr dot luke dot 66 @ gmail.
  10. Email sent, 1st dibs? let me know. Im not seeing the price on your post..?
  11. Loddo Rockefeller, if the above link is the dude. He seems to be a work in progress with publishing his carving. Very talented with the media for sure. I like it. If you Youtube ...Yooperluke... I have a couple earlier versions of him that are pretty cool too.
  12. Holy Wah! Lots of good stuff here. I suffer too. Long time listener, almost first time caller! A "Carver Extrordinare" and very reputable rider and board builder and I had this discussion at SES this year. His advice.. Listen to what your body is telling you when you ride. My issue was the same pain on both legs, heel side carve. Front leg, left, back leg left. No brusing, but WOW! Tried to ride it out the rest of last year, cranked the boots down and made it worse. Almost cried before I quit! I guess I'm a coward, cause I hate to cry on the mountain. Anyway, for me... I was twisting in my boots... so wrong...but the point is, I was doing something my body rejected. I increased my angles along with some other pointers about rotation and TaDah! Much better. Point being.. if you go to the Dr. and say,"It hurts when I do this." The answer is going to be expensive and, "Dont do that". The best thing I got from said Extrordinare was, listen listen listen to your body and no matter what is published, go with what the body says. We all have ridden crap and struggled through the learning curve. some of us are better than others, but if it doesnt work, change it, and not because its written here!
  13. I did 3/8" pipe insulation. It cost me about $4.50 at Menards, for enought to do 2 boards. I just slipped it on and secured it with a little tape wrap at nose and tail. No issues, plus it also seperates the boards. Cheap and easy insurance!

  14. Ahoy, specs and flex on the prior please! suppose I could try to look it up but hey, this is much eaiser!
  15. How much $ shipped to 49855?
  16. Im considering picking up a Gopro and editing tools. Anyone want to chip in their thoughts on what model I should get or what periphrials and software I must have?
  17. Is anyone having an issue getting UPS to accept the shipping address for the Luggage Depot for SES? I tried the address provided by Bomber twice to make sure I didnt give the wrong info and was told by UPS that they wouldnt ship there unless the guy forced it through the computer and then wouldnt guarantee delivery. Yikes. I got the address directly from Michelle so......? My dumb luck with the UPS kid? Any help would be grand! :smashfrea
  18. :biggthumpHans, Put me on your friends list when your ready to dump that "used equipment" Serious Dude.Top Notch used is 10x better then junk new.
  19. So Im riding on UPZ RTR's and I carve a whole lot better with the boots in walk mode as opposed to locked in. My question is, can I get rid of the lock lever and springs and replace them with the BTS? It seems like it would be a lot cleaner and allow me to dial in the BTS where I want it as oppsed to the stock stuff.
  20. I think Mr. Bobby Bugs hit it best.. .I had 2 really cool break throughs this week as I had 12 days off and spent them on the mtn. I took the advice I read here and applied it. I suck bad heel side and so started looking uphill on heel side and it helped alot, but not enough. The 2nd thing I did for an experiment was to put my back boot in walk mode and drive my back knee into the carve (heelside) and HolyWah! the board took off into a sweet heelside carve so much so that I had to be carefull not to fall. My angulation immediatley jumped up so much I had to adjust my posture to accomadate it. I think this is what folks talk about when they express being "in the back seat" cause it certainly felt like it to me. I feel great about it cause I think its getting me where I want to be, just have to tame the beast with some practice. On the down side I start 7-12's for the rest of the month tomorrow, yuck!
  21. CRC also makes food grade silicone along with all kinds of industrial lubricants etc. Just a thought, but dont you knock the crap off your boots and swipe the crud off your bindings before you jump on to your board? I mean, how often you running inside to be warm? Once I'm into my gear, it pretty much aclimates to conditions and I might have to scrape a little crud off while Im waiting around to catch the next chair. no big deal compared to soft booters.
  22. WTF, as in Why TF would you carve in these temps? Ice shack, wood stove, a good beer, cause you already know its cold!
  23. I often fish Lake Superior open water in all the winter months. Launch the boat from the beach and go fishing. It seems the best days for fishing are when no sane person would go ouside let alone go fishing. Granted Im only a mile or two from shore but Im just sittting and fishing on open water. Goretex, goretex, goretex. I try to by my gear to cover all my winter activities so I might look funny carving or fishing in my gear but the stuff is great! If your gear has a goretex backing its very hard to beat. Plus the chicks like the fish scales stuck to my Lapel! Ok, so its a little $$ but its way better then the knock off stuff but if you buy gore, they back it! Typically if you buy winter gear with goretex its top of the line , not necassarily brand or fashion fancy, but hardcore good stuff backed by good product warranty. Keep the core warm and the extremeties benefit!
