  1. All, I saw a couple of riders in our region start posting. So I figured it would be good to start our usual riding thread now. For our region, WISP will open on 11/23 and Snowshoe will open 11/21. I was hoping they would open sooner after big dump from Sandy but..well. It is what it is. Our playground, Whitetail? unknown yet.. and I'll be very surprised if they open in November. If anyone read this tread and wanna start ride alpine, let us know. I'll have some gears to get him introduced to alpine snowboarding although my quiver has shrunken so thin I can even bring all at once. Anyway, I will be going up to Whitetail at least once a week on weekday. If anyone is going up, please leave a line under this tread for date and time. Can't wait to ride with you all. P.S. Loupa5. If you wanna test Madd, let me know before I go up. Billy and Dave. I may be again opt out for any events this season(due to kids and new home) but just use this tread to let us know your plan to ride other places. I'm all-in for WISP any day.
  2. I'll take Fintech heels and cables on the photo. PM me for payment direction.
  3. It's kinda funny to see the name, Fawcett after 'Skidder'. Anyway, It's honor to see you here. One of my first carving decks was SIMS MFR w/ your signature on it. Hope I live around real POW to ride Tribute.....but one day...... Welcome and best wishes on your new business
  4. I had a F2 Eliminator WC 165 last 2 seasons and rode with softboots most of time and rode with hardboots one time. I don't know if your finding is WC or Not, but WC had titanial layer in it. It gave me damp and stable ride like other race GS/SL specific boards. Since I have other decks for hardpack corduroy, I specifically rode it on park/jumps and on piste to get there with softboots. For freecarving, I say it behaved like hardboot specific carving board. it has relatively narrow waist width (about 25cm), and was like riding a New Shaped Metal ATV. Being around 190 lbs, I felt the board is much stiffer than ATV but once I got some speed (the base is wicked fast), it was best BX/Freecarve board I had for the width ranges. It also took jump and ruts very easily.
  5. I want something like this.... but clicks at much less torque/lb(in).
  6. I have mp 28.5 af700 for sale. Description is here.
  7. First photo was seen at Apex's (Canadian distributor of Kessler ski and snowboard) Facebook recently. Kessler bindings (OEM F2). While I couldn't play golf yesterday due to rain, I used the time to paint my Proflex pro bindings to be look alike. Difference? very minimal (Except thinner bails size and logo). Just for fun... But then, now I worry that those white toe bail clips will make mark on my black UPZ boots by rubbing.
  8. I once rode 183 (I think it was HOT) at YongPyeong years ago and couldn't enjoy it much. The 'Rainbow' was too narrow and steep to make decent freecarve turns.. and other interconnecting trails were also narrow to deal with. Few wide spots were there to let the beast go but with too many people. Now I get to ride variety of boards these days and if I am going Korea to ride, I will take 170-ish with newer technology (metal, decambered, hammerhead nose, or etc) for those conditions. Newer technology embedded board has longer effective edge length and sidecut that is cut to make effective/dynamic turns. If you considering Tahoe (some powder-soft snow), I found metal board is not quite successful as non-metal board. As Jacopodotti recommended, I found SG Full Carve 170 is fantastic on both conditions and currently it's a my go-to board.
  9. (1)stance width (3)binding angle (6)cant (4)lift (2)boot tension (moving a toe/heel block or TD3 bail fine adjustment) (5)boot bias Additionally, If I can change Weight of the bindings, it would be great experiment, if I am on Plates.
  10. Good to see you got another Kessler. I got some SL decks instead of going after race gears this season. See you at WT slopes soon. Please do post some photos of your long silver metal bench. :)
  11. Kurt, I got your PM but am juggling with priority. I am about to buy a season pass right now and with tight budget. I don't want to insult your expectation by low offer since you won't probably need another Green-sidewall 170 in your Madd collection. I may need to sell some of my golf/alpine gears to make an offer that you can't resist :) But soon, I will contact you once I sort things out.
  12. Stephane, I used my pants size (waist x inseam) since the formula is just another 'Recommendation'. And.. I am not that flexible to measure my own inseam. :)
  13. Exception (at least for me...) I tend to find the sweet spot by narrowing the stance width a bit (like 2 to 4 cm) on old snowboards (camber driven... I say free-carving boards). For "New School" decks (geometry driven), the formula is spot on mostly. -- Sorry for english on French forum.. but dont' know any better.
  14. Recommending Stance = [(Height / 3.5) + (Inseam x 0.6)] / 2 <--- I read from extremecarving.com few years back.. For me, [(188 cm / 3.5)+(86 cm x 0.6)] / 2 = 52.6 cm. I usually set it at 52 cm and move forward/backward to find the sweet spot.
  15. I also wondered the spec. and found the info. in here. Different year but same model Proto 159. http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?19732-159-Nidecker-Proto-Great-Shape!&p=182333#post182333
  16. Bomber. http://bomberonline.3dcartstores.com/AF-Rear-Spoiler_p_73.html They're for AF series but I don't see differences between AF & Track, except the color.
  17. Oh... That's sad. But don't worry. A lot of resorts have ticket discount programs that you can advantage. such as 3 for $100 or 30-40% discount price program. I guess you are planning to go CO more often. right? Anyway, I may be able to go up Camel Mountain this season so If I go, I will pm you.
  18. Recover well and hopefully see you at slopes on Feb. coming season. Keep us update on Mid-Atlantic forum if you are ready to hit the slopes!
  19. I think you need to upload the Bomber logo that is square. Since Bomber logo size is approximately 380 x 70, it only took first 70 x 70, which shows only "B". So, while I was watching Olympic Soccer (Brazil vs S. Korea) game re-run that I already know the result, I opened photoshop and played around. How about this? It's 260 x 260.
  20. After unusual winter we had last season, I searched for good credible weather forecast and "liked" the Farmer's Almanac in Facebook. This is one of their post today. http://www.farmersalmanac.com/blog/2012/08/06/what-are-you-seeing/ The blog post and FB's comments are basically saying that they are seeing signs that winter will come earlier than usual (About a month or so). Hope this winter is long, cold, and snowy.
  21. One of BOL members here posted his findings on UPZ width on this forum. I can't locate it but saved the info. on my computer for future use. If you can measure yours, it will be great comparison how UPZ would fit.
