Hi BOL members,
My name is Pius, from N. Virginia where limited carving mountains are available. I started to snowboard from 93 and worked at Bretton Wood resort in NH from 97-01 as a snowboard instructor. I was introduced to alpine boarding on 96 with Oxygen F-57 that my friend from Czech gave me. Although it was very limited for my height (6' 2") and weight (190 lbs), I enjoyed every inch of the board. Because I was so enjoying carving, I wore hardboots and taught freestyle beginners with the board for most days so that I can carve for short break from instructing. :)
Anyway, years past without boarding, I ended up in Northern Virginia. Since the region had some good snow last December, I went to few slopes in PA with current BX board with DNR carving soft boots & binding and...... I hooked in again for freecarving. I've been speculating 'Classified' to get newer gears, considering different snow condition around here, for few weeks and haven't found what I really want yet. I may have few more chance to slopes before this winter goes away but not with alpine setup. :(
I see ECES or SES announcements in here and would like to visit one of those events, but not this year due to already scheduled plan for other things. I learned to ride and carve myself and think I know how to ride but i've always wanted to see how others ride.
Well.. enough on my side. I will constantly check this forum and participate. Thank you all for having this great forum to inspire me back to carving~
