Very true. I visited few other slopes near us this season (Canaan Valley, Timberline, WISP and WT) and no wonder WT has most of us around. Oh, last Tuesday trip to WISP was good. 6 hours of total driving for 1.5 hour riding excluding times on chairs... my wife think I'm crazy but was worth every turn. good snow. But I don't know which one your ride mostly but North side (Little/Big Dippers) were not steep enuff for my taste. Squire Cage and Main Street were good for SL but I doubt I can have fun on GS board .. steep but short. None can't beat WT's Farside. IMO.

I found Timberline's Twister and Upper Dew Drop would be good carving slopes but I don't think the slopes will be in any better condition than last Monday until it gets some dump, which I don't believe it will. But I found Timberline's staff were very customer friendly and has well organized ski school. I will come back for sure next season with my kids.

I just came home after riding 158 (red sidewall) for 2 hours. I set slightly forward front foot and back foot 20" away. WhooAh! Best runs ever. I haven't ridden short board lately but am hooked! Interestingly, I find sweet spot little more toward front on 170 (green sidewall).

I just decided when I came home this evening. I gotta make some excuse for work but...... This will be the last day to see decent condition in our neck of woods. So... Yup I'm definitely going. I will leave around 6 from Fairfax via 270 and 70. Probably passing Frederick around 6:45. Call me if you want to meet up on the way. 703-eight88-eight six five four.

This is very sad news but knew it is coming. Whitetail is closing for season. Tomorrow (3/4) will be last day for this season. Although I had a quick trip to WV to ride some, this news officially ended my season.:( Well.. if Colorado gets snow like recently, I may go there for early April.

Rode Timberline & Canaan Valley after few inches on last Saturday. I expected little more snow and better conditions than Southern PA resorts but not really. Timberline was ok but Canaan Valley was not in good condition. Temp. went down to 22' overnight but they didn't make snow to cover dirts on weekday. A lot of icy spots and dirts were found. Only 50% of slopes were rideable. Due to the condition, only rode a rock board. Anyway, it was great for my 4 years old. I put him on ski school for 2 days and he now ski and is stoked. Once I find him comfortable on downhill, I'll introduce snowboarding.

After riding in West Virginia last two days and looking at forecast, I decided to do spring clearance sale. I know it's quite early but this season here in Mid Atlantic is disaster. So here are some gears that I was planned to use on spring conditions. And few other alpine gears. It they don't get sold, I will keep it for next season but I think I price them fairly and OBO. Volkl RT 163 SL I got this slalom board from a local BOL rider this season. I filed the topsheet blemish and waxed and rode about half day on crappy condition on steeps. I was looking for a SL deck to ride such condition, but I guess I'm spoiled by metal boards. SOLD Proflex Bindings I got this bindings from a BOL member few months ago to use on the Volkl SL and added hardware, (8)M6x20 with washers. I believe it is same as F2 Carve RS bindings that a pair of used one sold at $120 at BOL recently. Just passing on this bindings at cost.
