  1. I know. I was on the MAC list too. For carpool, yeah. I'm up for it. I live near IAD area and usually take Rt 15 up, with kids. There are few rider in DC, Jason and few European riders that I have met at WT. I will post here when I go up. With this warm/rain spell, I don't think I'm going up any time soon tho. Congratulation on your wedding.
  2. Awesome! I can't wait to see your review on this year's. Shane is twicking other model for one of Korean National Team rider for next year model. CO riders' reviews on D.O. will also be considered too.
  3. Awesome Lance, I'll PM you.
  4. Okay. here we go again. No opening date for any of them yet. But I'm ready to ride. I included Roundtop this year since.... I was impressed with RT last season. It's +2 hours drive from me (near IAD) but few good pitches slopes and wide-open Minuteman are calling me again. Let's use this tread for riding day and condition. Safe riding~
  5. Hey CO carvers~ I got a business trip next week in Denver and may able to ride on Saturday 12/8 morning. Eldora would be the ideal one since I need to catch a flight on 5 pm. Does anyone ride on that day?
  6. Let me check mine since I haven't tried them with UPZ. If longer one works, sure. BTW, do you have extra square nuts that goes underneath plate to hold bail block? I improvised few from hardware store but are not exact. Ironically, I am holding on to these ancient bindings (but IMO, best board feeler) for skwal, which I don't have.
  7. west carven, This is what I have. So, you are looking for the more 'Square' looking bail? I only have one.
  8. Which model? I may have some but am not sure what size they are. Haven't rode them for almost decade. Show me what you got.
  9. Good choice but make sure yours are covered in warranty. I had e320 & e350 4matic wagon past 10 years, along with ML350 & R500. E-series are best among MB lines. Both held up pretty well over. Parts cost very expensive and stealership charge too much. Still have e350 sedan for everyday driving but I learn to trade in for newer one before warranty expires.
  10. @jim_s What are the weight of these wedges for your setup?
  11. @slopestar & @erazz Thanks for the reviews. You guys reviews would help Alloy's builder to change some for next year (2019-20) model. In Korea, they call the carving/bombing down with hammerhead deck as 'technical riding'. One of the technique they advocate is to weight on front foot and drive. I think the D.O. spec. is designed for the technique. @erazzbased on the CO rider's reviews and my experience, along with the confirmation of SCRs of the D.O., is it safe to say D.O. needs nose-press to track. (instead of "does not carve at high speed)? I didn't noticed it much since I'm an old timer who ride for-after unless a deck demands otherwise. do ya think it would be better to reduce nose SCR a bit so that it can initiate turn better at hight speed? I see 165 of 18-19 model has 13m on nose.
  12. Max speed comes from confidence in control. Metal definitely boost confidence on not-so-ideal conditions and rider may push hard and ride faster. Grip on ice is more of geometry & flex pattern of the board than construction materials, IMO. I ride at east coast where 'icy' is normal. I have more confident on few glass boards and will choose the decks over any metal deck on ice. But If I had to choose between FR and FRT on ice, I would choose FRT tho.
  13. I owned FR 163 and FC 170 and tried FRT 170. Yes, their geometry is same. Only noticeable difference between FRT and FC was feel. Max speed? and better edge grip? seems marketing verbiage. I could push FRT harder since the extra metal layer gave me more confident. I chose FC since it was more fun. But IMO, a quiver killer is FRT.
  14. Totally!!! Now I understand, I would like to add 1 mm base depth or more, instead of 0.5 mm. I like to ride at higher lift and it also helps center the rear boot (especially UPZ) toward center. Thanks!
  15. Along with 3D binding parts project, I did this few months ago since my kids now actively enjoying snow sports. This dryer is for 4 boots and 4 gloves. It is not done yet. Since I haven't installed heater or fan yet, complete drying after complete soaked gloves took good 2-3 days. Originally, I planned to install a heater & a fan to circulate air inside but cost too much. So I'm leaning toward to extend my house's air/heat duck into the dryer box. Simple HVAC flexible duck with a stopper will cost me <$20 and free of heat (not really but no additional).
  16. @jim_s Thanks. Another question: Base Depth in mm - Base height to add under the shims. Should generally be minimum of 0.5mm. Higher lift angles, or very low lift and cant angles may require a larger base depth to for the groove to print acceptably. base_dpth = 0.5; I don't quiet understand what the base depth is. Would you explain this more? Thanks.
  17. For the record, I just measured the lengths of the 2 screws that come with F2 bindings for wedge installment and they are 22 mm and 28 mm.
  18. Thanks @jim_s ! Now I got something to play for off-seasons, along with softboots 3D plates. Here are few questions before I start: Since a set is 2 parts (toe & heel), how do they get printed? one STL file to print 2 objects? Stock screws are M5, I think. If I make a 6 degree lift, what length of screw are needed?
  19. If anyone look for Sidas Custom Pro (XL) or Superfeet Kork (E), let me know.
  20. They are Marker's DNR bindings. They gets used with DNR boots, side step-in, heavy as hardboots, stiff as hardboots, came with 2 interchangeable plastic tongues for flex. I used them for 7-8 years for its convenience. It released on me on big-air jump once and broke. Marker replaced with new one. But the second one was the binding-boot combo that broke my ankle when I had the nose-dive after a jump. It didn't release but my front knee hit snow (+50' bindings angle) while the binding, boots, and board were still intact. (pulled the inserts tho). I believe Marker made them for Santa Cruz too.
  21. No wonder its base area under inserts felt like base-suck. Camber under feet works better on rocker boards but minimal on camber board in my experience. Glad The Alloy builder already incorporating our feedbacks.
  22. If you can ride both and give comparison, that would be very valuable to the Alloy builder. He is already thinking about 19-20 models that will incorporate our feedbacks.
  23. Great review Lance, As I wrote the heighest camber was at middle between front inserts and the midfle of the board. I forgot to mentioned it but I placed my front binding forward than the marked/recommended inserts and placed rear bindings 21” back from the front. I am curious how it ride POW. I see Loveland tomorrow will be pow condition. Looking forward reviews on POW too & also from other LCI crews.
