  1. This is when you start praying for snow. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is one of the worst season for natural snow for the ski resort so far. March isn't over yet, so there is some hope for new snow coming. Vermont is known for a good amount of snowfall in March, however with this warm weather, I can only cry and look away. Boo HOO! The grass is already turning green in some areas in southern Vermont. Well, it was good while it last. Enjoyed the end of the season guys!!! Z Carver, TONY Z
  2. I agree Sheffy! At first I like the race plates, becasuse it was easy to turn the board. But as I got better and started riding steep and fast trails at Killington, it became a scary experience. I busted the bails 5 times and crack the plate twice. It is bad enough to worry about the people on the slopes when riding. The last thing I need to worry about is the bindings breaking on me. I put them away for good! I am using the old TD Bombers now and will never look back. However I just got back from 5 day trip from Okemo and I notice I crack the right heel support of my Raichle 325 boot! Ouch!
  3. First I agree with golfer. A board between 68 and 75 would be good for your specs. But don't kid yourself. The short boards can go as fast as the big boys. It is true, the more p-tex you have the faster you can go. I have many times caught up with longer boards and skiers without a problem. It all depends on the grade of the p-tex, the type of wax and, of course, the conditions of the snow. :D
  4. Hey Scotty, maybe Kenny and Vin could put together a "Last Hoorah" Carve Fest at Killington in early April. Killington is known for great last minute conditions in April.
  5. I do not know John very well, but I do respect everybody that is part of this carving community. I would like to say I am very sorry to hear of John's accident. I hope and pray that John will recover from his injuries quickly. God speed for your recovery. Be Strong dude! Tony Z
  6. ....to be there. If the weather is good, I'll be there. It's been 3 years since I saw that place. Anything new? Ah! Is Ronnie going with soft shoes?:p Hope to see ya! Thanks for the email, Had.
  7. ....to call Ronski from mahopac, Had! I am sure he will go! Hey remember us riding at Okemo last year??? Do you still have the video?? Love to see them.
  8. Yeah, that crazy Presidents' holiday week coming! You just got to deal with the crowds. It comes down to this. Ride or don't ride. The Shooting Gallery?? Nah! Call it the showcase gallery. This is where you showoff your carving skills to the wanna-be's. That is the only thing I miss on the weekends. The crowed chairlift going over your head, as they watch you do your G's!:D
  9. I would suggest no smaller than 64cm and up tp 72cm would be fine. A 158cm board for your specs is way too small and would reponsed sluggishly. Good hunting:D
  10. .......I always bring up two or more boards. REASON 1: Type of conditions and weather. REASON 2: In the event you break or damage the board. Ouch! REASON 3: You offer your board to someone else to try. Yikes! REASON 4: Lazy to change your bindings. What's up with that? REASON 5: It is unlikely, but in case someone steals it, to sell it on ebay. HEY!! THAT'S MY BOARD! YOU THIEF!!!! REASON 6: I got the room in my truck. Don't waste the space. REASON 7: 2 is better than 1. Like we didn't know. REASON 8: It like having a babe in room to look at. Hmmmmmm REASON 9: When with others, you have many boards up against the wall. Okay, Everybody say cheesseeee! CLICK. REASON 10: I'll think of something...... Remember your snowboard is a tool for the snow! Treat it with care.:D
  11. Where the hell you been?? WHAT! You didn't ride yet! Holy dog shi.ing! You're missing the great snow bro! Yeah it cold right now, but the snow is sure good! Better get going! Before you know it, the season will be over! Hope to see ya! Boo HOO! I mean you know what I'm sayingggggg?:D
  12. Hey Stan! Thanks for the reminder! Looks like Ronnie is going to miss this year Fest and ECES. He is going to a party in NYC on the 9th. As for the ECES, Ronnie going to Maine?? I can't see that happening. That's a long shot. :p
  13. Congrats on your good fortune! I have the same board and you will love! I got rid of my race plates and threw on the bomber TD bindings. What a huge different! The board is more responsive and stable in the turns! I feel your 45 degrees angles settings are not good. Try more up to 54 or 58. I have 64 front and 62 rear. They work the best for me. Don't forget the stance width between the bindings too. Those settings are also very important to consider. Good Luck and happy trails!
