  1. "RBS" Real Big Shot. That's what Ronski use to call me, now I call him RBS! LOL:D
  2. That's Okay, as long we did the sign communication at the end, you know what I'm saying! I'm Glad I got to see you for the 2 days! You did great yourself and take care of your back! :) Keep in touch! Like to ride in April when I come back from FLA.
  3. ...indeed! It was good to see many carvers at Okemo for once. It is one thing to see one or two carvers ripping the trails. When you see 20 or more, it's an eye opener! As much as the CGW crew were having fun, so were the skiers watching us! It is a good feeling! Thank you again Had!:D
  4. ... it was a great Time! Thank you Had the brick man for putting this event together! I would like to thank Ronski for letting me try his 58 kitten! A small cat with a tiger attitude! I also Like to thank Elliot Pine, Rob Chase, Bobby Buggs, Glenn, Richard, Charlie, Rob, Wes, Jack, Kenny, Gary, and many others that I can't remember their names for a great time. I'm glad I stay for the 2 days! This was a great event to replace the lost of ECES for this year. I hope to attend Jack's next year event at SugarLoaf!!!!! I miss that mother! :D
  5. Hey ripster, thank you for the thread! I enjoyed the sport so much, I try my best to help riders with the turning steps. I have seen where riders jump to the g turns and lose control. That was me once, until I met somebody named Shaun on White Heat at Sunday River, ME. I think that was 8 years ago. I forgot his last name. He was my mentor and taught me the gun fighter stance. And what that did, it helps keep you body and shoulders properly on your edges. Once I got the understanding on controlling my body into the turns I started helping others riders over the years. This method is really good for the east coat conditions. Out west it another story, but you just simply change your style. That was another technique I have learned over the past few years. You need to change the way you ride to the changing conditions of the snow. You can not keep the same technique of riding on every trip you do. It like doing, "style on demand riding", you know? When I help a person, I carve in slow motion and show where the body, the shoulders, the knees and the hands all should be when riding from A to B then C. This can be difficult at times because you really need to have the right conditions to help someone. If it is too windy and cold the rider will panic on the boiler plate snow. You need to have your mind set on one thing and not to worry about the weather and conditions. If you're every in the area of the states and it's winter time please give a call! I hope you well and good luck! Z carver, Tony Z:cool:
  6. ..and still alive. Just got back from Okemo carve fest and did some ABC teaching. I helped out 2 carvers today and even a softbooter 4 weeks ago. He did really good! In fact I told him he is ready for the hard stuff! I first try to show the basic position of the body from the A to B then C. The standard L carve. Once the basic L carve is achieved, the next level of ABC is the medium low G's. After that is the aggressive low G's or in my terms, the SL Gs (Super lows) G's. Every rider have their own technique of riding. My method may not be the answer, but I do see it helps many riders I come across with. Ronski, Rich, Elliot and buggs are just a few.
  7. ....still downloading....I'm getting very sleepy.:D
  8. Change of plans, wont be going up today. Not sure for Wednesday either. Enjoyed the carving boys and gals. Bricky, I'm glad you put this together. Just wish I could make it, but between weather travling and house trouble, doesn't look good for me. Sorry to those I said I was coming. :( Enjoyed the event. I will try to be there for Thursday and Friday.
  9. No problem and safe trip coming up! I should be on the MT by 9 too. I'm leaving tomorrow early. Look for some carving G's by the Chief. I'm giving the early bird riders a tour. Ronski and Elliot will be there as well! See you all soon!:D
  10. I think Ronski and Elliot are staying at the round house at Jackson Gore. Give him a call. I'm sure they can fit you in the closet somewhere. LOL:D What you mean brokendown? Hurt yourself?
  11. Hello SWriverstone, Sorry for the delay. Okay let see: Not to worry about those Black trails. There is no such thing at this MT. If you need an easy warm up run, you can do the lift line trail. This is right by the base of the MT. underneath the south Ridge quad. Plus if you need to rest you can stay at the sugar house. Other "Easy" trails I would recommend would be mountain road to village run or blue arrow. Very good conditions on these trails. Plus it keeps you by the solitude area with an easy exit to the bottom. If you do the south face, dreamweaver would be your best choice. A nice long easy trail off to the side of the MT. On the other side of Okmeo, known as Jackson Gore, is Tuckered Out. Another long wandering easy trail. I strongly recommend Quantum leap. Only the very top 2 sections are little steep, but not that difficult. A quick note to exit Solitude area. Take Lower arrow or lower mt road. You could do it from wardance but you need a little speed from upper arrow to cut over by Blackout. Other than that, the ten best that are posted are good trails! Please remember where you park your car. You can now park at Jackson Gore. If you recheck the trail map at okemo site, you can see the locations of these trails. IMPORTANT NOTE: For those who are staying or parked at Jackson Gore, you might want to do a quick run on Quantum leap instead of meeting the group by Upper Chief first thing in the morning. Not sure what the plan is. Quantum leap groomed is dynamite! I hope this helps! I am hoping to be there from Wednesday to Friday. Cheers!:D
  12. ...........If not, I will see you at Okemo!:p Is Ronski going for both days? That knuckle head dragon him! LOL! The man with 30 boards in his garage! And I thought I was sick in the head. Ronski is beyond sick! I hope he brings all of those boards with him to Okemo! P.S. Hey Had, thank you for the invitation to the house! :)
  13. Well we got our wish, more snow is on the way! So start gearing up and pray for good cool weather next week! The Solitude area is always known for the best conditions. It usually stays good all day. Exhibition and Heaven Gate are good camera spots. Also it is very easy to go back and forth to other areas from Solitude. The trick with the South Face is to do 1 or 2 runs after a warm up on the Chief first thing in the morning. After that South Face is not always good. For those who are staying for more than 2 days, it is good to first check the south side for at least one day and then enjoy the rest of the mountain. Quantum leap(Jackson Gore) is a must, especially with good conditions. This might be another ideal spot for camera footage. Trail is wide and long. For the newbies of Okemo, not to worry about those single black diamond trails. In my opinion there are no black diamond trails at Okemo. A good family carving Mt. One quick note to all carvers that are coming. I seriously doubt that lift attendants will check your board, but please bring your runaway straps. Even if you don't attach it to your board, just have it in your coat pocket. Better to have it on you, then they send you back down to the base and lose some carving time. If no race is present and the snow is hot!, **Please do the Upper Chief first thing!** It's a good feeling! Zcarver, Tony Z Any questions feel free to email at primecarver2@yahoo.com :D
  14. Damn! Over a 1000 posts! I know this is a sick sport, but D-sub and Jack you are both really sick! LOL:D Keep it coming!!!!!! Cheers!;)
  15. Hey whatever happen to the Killington carvefest? Kenny or Vinny are you there?:( What is a weekend lift ticket at windham these days?
  16. ....very soon. Just send an email to Had today for Okemo. So hopefully the Brick man will be updated the report!:D
  17. Hmmm....that would be hard to do with the helmet on.:D
  18. ....does it really matter? 3 important factors of riding will always apply to ever rider. 1: Safety is first 2: Ride with the comfort and the ability to hold the turn. 3: Enjoyed what you can do and have fun:D I often change my style to the changing conditions. I personally love to touch the snow. I ride so low that my chin is 2 inches above the snow. I love to see the snow real close while carving low. I feel have a sense of power. nils quote: "its about having the eyes a few inches from the snow... and since its yet impossible to achieve without touching the snow, it leads to touching it with the body, but the eyes ." I agree 110% Is it cheesy? I have to disagree with that 150%. Enjoyed!
  19. My friend girlfriend get her first powerbook laptop. Question 1: "Where is the Monitor on this thing?" Respond "Honey, you need to open it up." Question 2: After opening up the laptop she said," Why isn't the computer turning on?" Respond "Honey, you need to hit the power button." Question 3: When the computer powers up, "Okay, so what do I do now?" Respond "Honey, why did you get the laptop in the first place?
  20. Jack...please respond. You have a customer at the front door for the loaf. :D
  21. Both Mts are excellent for carving fun. I could be wrong about this, but I sense some people don't give Okemo a chance. It has many good carving trails. Maybe not as tough as Killington, but great grooming and better than Stratton.
  22. Hey! Had the brick man! I thought maybe a brick fell on your head:D It's good to hear from you! If this is going to be my last season of riding, I will do my very best to be there so count me in! Is Ronski coming, that POS! LOL. Tell him to bring that Madd tool with him! Maybe Kenny M will be there too! ......Check with Willywhit on what's the deal with tickets for Mt Snow. Might be a better chocie. Cheers!!!!

  24. Oh boy, all the time. I have been riding for 17 season and last year was my worst season ever. Out of 33 days I think I had 6 good riding days. I often wondering if my snowboarding days are numbered. One week in Feb, I had the best time of my life and then the follwing week with good conditions I was riding like a snowboard jacka** I just couldn't figured it out:confused: Boo HOO!
