The trick with the north face is: the start of the attack run. Tuck in your gut, bend the knees and stay low and have a no fear state of mind. Be sure you have most of your weight over the edges for better control. I agree with John about the smaller board, after checking out Ronnie's Madd at Sugarbush last year, I noticed the impressive stiffness of the nose which helps stabilty in the turns. The north face would be cake with that board. Boo HOO :D

This question is for KJL. Yeah I just saw the incredibles, a great funny movie, I really enjoyed it. I am 3d animator trying to reach the real world of 3d animation. I was just wondering if I could ask you a question regarding on Pixar's equipment? I notice at the end of the film credits I saw that the CPU and rendering was done with Intel chips. Which is not a surprise to me. I was arguing with a fellow animator that told me that Pixar is all Mac x servers and have been for a long time because of Steve jobs. I disagree with this, because I know for a while renderman was only PC base and in the past Pixar uses SGI computers. The same for Maya. It was available for the mac until 3.5. I am sure now Pixar is starting to swtich over to the G5 dual X-severs, but are still using PC base computers. Could you shake some light on this. :(

This is a killer for a family who owns 2 cars. With gasoline prices around $2 a gallon (average), operating 2 vehicles that get 20mpg(average) and Travel 15,000 miles, each would cost about $3,000 just for gas. (Plus or minus) Ouch! And if you have at least 1 SUV, forget! Star doing your tune-ups. They help a lot! Poor tuning can mean as much as 4% more fuel wasted. Underinflated tires can drink up as much as 3% lost. Using the right oil help improve performance. Every 5 mph above 60mph is like paying 10 cents more per gallon. Also aggressive driving can cut highway mileage by 33%! De-junk the trunk. For each 100lbs you remove from your car, the mileage rises about 2% Large items on the roof can cost you about 5%. Not all the time, but cruise control can help improve fuel economy. Turn off the engine if you know you will be sitting for while. Like a drive-thru at your local bank. Several short trips from a cold start can use twice as much fuel as one trip covering the same distane with a warm engine. And this is obvious. If you have 2 vehicles, (like me) use the one that gets better mileage. I heard that CA might reach around $2.89 by the summer? Yikes!

Here in NY gas prices is averaging $2.08 for a gallon of regular unleaded and $2.38 for premium. These prices are expected to rise another 4 percent in the next month. Gasoline is up 8.9% in the past 3 months, up 17% since 2001. I am sure the SUV market will slip in sales if this continued. This is insane! I was wondering what is gas prices in other states? I don't know if this is true, but a group of Long Islanders are sending out emails to tell people for one day not to buy gas. This is the email: DON'T BUY GAS ON MAY 19TH IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF GASOLINE FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES. AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OF OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES. Yeah, I think they don't like the idea of the Hard boots and narrow boards. A few of them are afraid they won't be able to the airs and tricks. I just tell them, "It's who you are. If you want to do the airs and tricks , you just do it! Yeah, maybe the soft boots equipment is easier than the alpine, but where you guys dig the airs we dig the TURNS!" "I have seen several carvers do some amazing tricks, It can be done . It's depends on the board." Life goes go on.........:D

......Yikes!!! I heard that NC didn't do too bad this season. I guess instead of riding a 25+ days season I would have to settle for 7+ days. Boo HOO! My other choice is CA. Hmmmmmm

Killington is well known to stay open till May. On several seasons they were open till June. I did a May trip at Killington 3 years ago. While the weather was nice the conditions were like riding on "volkswagen" size moguls. Never do that again, but I was glad to do it the one time. I think Killington ends all grooming after April 23rd. It depends on the depth of the snow.

Yeah it's a great feeling to hear people yelling from the chairlifts. I get a lot of "Absolutely Beautiful lines!" "Great carving!" "You must be a Artist." "Hey I remember you! You're the guy that leaves a line behind you." and so on. But what is strange sometimes. I mostly get these comments from skiers, not snowboarders. In fact I did get a few negative comments from boarders. One of them I was completely confuse. The dude said,"F... your Sister!" Where did that come from? I don't even have a sister. Oh well, just enjoyed the view!

My god what a small world we lived in! All that snow on the other end of the states! Keep the pictures coming! It's makes winter still alive over here! Sweet!:D

I was talking to somebody the other day on this and I wasn't sure. What is the longest (and shortest) snowboard out there? Any pictures to show them too. I remember a thread on this once, but I forgot it. Also for those who have a long and short board could you take a picture of them side by side and post it. My friend doesn't believed there are boards that are over 190cm. I want to roll his eyes!!! Thanks.:)
