  1. No buggs, not everybody knows him. *sighs* :D Hello Ken, I usually go to Okemo during midweek to avoid the crowds. I would be very happy to give some pointers. I am planning some VT trips in March. I no longer go to Hunter or Windham; however if you ever go to Belleayre mountain midweek, shoot me an email and I will try to meet you. I am planning to go the ECES this year, weather permitting. Are you going to this event? You can get a lot of help from many of the carvers. If you ever meet Ronski "the well known knucklehead dragon freak" at Hunter, tell him I said hello. I taught that guy everything he knows...in carving, that is. zCarver
  2. Wow. The right pin look like it's barely grabbing on yours. That's what I am worry about. How much meat of the pin is grabbing the slot of the receiver. It seems the pins could of been a little longer or the width of the receiver smaller. I'm concerned when the boot start turning on an angle inside the receiver when riding.
  3. I finally decided to go with the TD 3 SIs after my 4th TD 1 bail break and 12 overall. This is the first time I am going to use SI Bindings. Definitely a huge improvement in design over the TD 1. I also bought the Fin Tec Heels for the boots. For those who are familiar with the SIs, can you please look at the pictures to be sure I have this set correctly. I was a little concerned with the 2 mm gap I saw (3rd pic) when the heel is seated inside the receiver. While the Boot feels snug into place, there is some sideways movement because of the gap. Is this normal? I hope I don't rip out of the receiver. Thank you for your time. I am hoping to test them next week. zCarver
  4. :D Thanks Buggs, it was great to be back (11 months later )and see every one carve it up! I sure do miss it! Yeah I am in worse shape when I got back. Sore like a MF. I hope to return next week soon. Poor switch Elliot. "Oh no no my friend no more riding backward for you anymore". You know what I'm saying? AZ
  5. It was am awesome blue-bird day at Jiminy. We had about 8 carvers ripping it up on Wednesday. It was non-stop action with the Ronski's mafia crew. Thanks to all that attend. Hey Dave, sorry for the late post but it was a last minute kind of deal. At first they were planning on going to Hunter but, that was a no go. I do know Ronski is planning MT Snow/Bromley Trip next Friday into the weekend with Rob Case. 4 other carvers are going as well. I'll keep you posted on this in the VT thread soon. AZ
  6. Noelle said come to Hunter MT and carve it up!
  7. In case anybody is interested in going to Jiminy tomorrow, Here's the MA link: http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?t=15183
  8. There will be a small gathering of carvers tomorrow, 2/28 at JiminyPeak if any body is interested in riding with king of all knuckleheads, Ronski(CarveFather). At least a total of 6 carvers are going to attend. Should be a good day! Update: Ron Matia Elliot Pine Bobby Buggs(?) Rob Wallace(?) Rob Case Wes AZ AZ
  9. Hey Cail, Yeah, any kind of injury during the winter season is a real bummer. While I am not 100 percent recovered, I am hoping to do some turns without too much difficulties. I'll see hopefully tomorrow. If you plan to stop by later in the afternoon that cool too. Ronski and the others usually quit late in the day anyway. I'm an early bird carver. The gang usually do a trip every week, so I think they are planning to return to Jiminy next Wednesday as well. I'll keep you posted, check later tonight. AZ
  10. Hey Cail, If all goes well, I should be there by 9. Ron(CarveFather, aka..nucklehead dragon in my terms)) and perhaps 3 or 4 others usually start around 10:30. Only your third time out. This will be my first of the season, if I make it. I had a leg injury back in Jan that put me out for nearly 2 months. I will have more info later tonight. Waiting for Ronski. It should be great! AZ
  11. A good possibility of a small gathering at Jiminy Peak tomorrow(Wednesday). Will know more later in the day. I am hoping to return to save a lost season. AZ
  12. Hey Had, Long time no see! I hope you guys have a great time!

It's a good thing I dont hear well. LOLOLOL In fact I went to sleep.
  15. Sick In The Head. That was pretty awesome!
  16. The moment you lock into your bindings and get on that chairlift. You never know what lies ahead.
  17. In the past I have often heard people say touching the snow is wrong. What??? Come again. Where did that rule come from? No such thing. You do what you are comfortable at. Your style or method may not or may work for me. It is up to you to find the right form of riding. Others can offer tips and suggestions, the do's and the don'ts...etc. In the end it is up you to do what is comfortable and how to hold the turn. Conditions, equipment, weather and your mental state all make a big difference. Even your own body form makes a huge difference. We all have different body builds that would allow us to ride differently. Some can bend or crouch tighter then others. What a huge advantage that makes. Me personally I love touching the snow. I think it is awesome to have the ability to go as low as you can and be in that position and hold the carve. Even the skiers are doing that now. Someone mentioned earlier that this can increase the chances of getting hurt. Well we all have our opinion and I would have to say I disagree with this. I guess it all depends on the situation you are in. Staying low in some ways actually decreases your chances. You are already down extremely low and not going to fall any harder or lower. If you are riding standing up or even in a L position you have the height to fall down harder. Especially your upper body. On the steeps I always make sure I am touching the snow as this helps control my speed into the turns and I feel less vibration. This also helps to add weight to your edges. It comes down to this, just enjoy, be safe and continue to learn different ways of carving.
  18. Hey Buggs and Sic, thank you for the kind words! I would have to give my hat up to Knuckle Head Ronski and Rob Case as great carvers this year. As I didn't ride too well in my worst season ever in 20 years of knowing the sport. :( I Just discovered a crack on the top sheet of ultra prime and the edges on the FP is shot and thin as hell. My season is done for. As for next season...
  19. Well I am sure all the resorts were good at that time. Probably the best conditions we will see for a while. Double :p :p :p LOL Hey Pat, Ron and Elliot decided not to ride on Sunday as Elias wasn't feeling well. Had too much fun on Friday and Saturday. It was a bad timing event for many of us. Sorry for the confusion guys.
  20. Due to heavy rain and cold winds a few days ago, many of the trails took a beaten. Upper Chief had a race on Thursday and was a big disappointment for Friday. Solitude was pretty good for most of the day. Ron and Elliot are usually at the base lodge by 9am. I think there are about 4 or 5 carvers for the weekend.
  21. The boyz are hanging out by the okemo base lodge, not Jackson Gore. Conditions were okay, but not great. Jolly Green to War Dance was the best! We had about 8 carvers today.
  22. Yeah it was a good day for all of us and happy to see the boyz! Look forward to this Thursday! I got off the phone with the CarveFather last night as he was driving by himself going Home from Windham!?!?!?! Poor guy he need to talk to somebody going home. He said something like, I can't stop having fun now, I need to keep the day going. So he called me for a hour. RONSKI! You knuckle head dragon! Hopefully Okemo didn't get too much rain. The warm weather came in too soon for March! Make me feel pretty sick.
  23. Hey buggs! Great small gathering at Jimney yesterday! That Rob case was mental with the dog fight carving! Whew! I thought I was going to crash and burn ! It was great to have a small group of carvers ripping up the slopes. While the boyz were at the loaf we had our fest. Even if it was just for a day. Just so you know Ronnie, Elliot, Rob, Jeff, Wes and of course Ronski didn't quit till 5:30!!! Those Knuckle head dragon Freaks! We went out for dinner til 9:30 at Marios! Great Laughs! I hope the weather will be good for next week!
  24. The original date of March 22-26 has been changed to March 15-19 at Okemo. For those who are interested to get together, please post here.
  25. ..... glad you made it on Tuesday. Sorry I didn't catch you earlier in the day. Just remember to keep the hands in front. Yeah I hope you can make it when all the boyz are together. It is awesome to see 12 or more carvers ripping the trails!. Yeah I can't figure out myself either  It been almost 9 weeks of no riding and you have to start all over again. I was wiped out when I got home. It was bed time for me.. I am so out of shape and weak not even sure if I'm going in 2 weeks. :p
