Gizmos down to 18 mm stack height ( plate + isolators ), binders on top of that. Carbon plate would be better? Yes. With the plates that have axels and bumpers, ( like Apex ?) it sounds like the bumpers give you more board “ feel “? /pedaling ability ? I’m wondering if a plate with only bumpers/ isolators/ no axels ,would would also work. Then you would have true isolation in a plate. You could run it like a BP , BP light or separate like the Gizmos. So far I like the 2 separate plates, but would like to try a one piece plate, that was soft in torsion.
My personal goal with plates/ isolation is really knee joint comfort/preservation. I know when I ride with the Gizmos my knees feel better when I walk from the hill to the car at the end of the day( it’s usually the end of the morning ),and even better they feel good to go ride the next day. Harder the snow better I like them.
