  1. Silver, I rode my 158 #Two last week back to back to my 158 Madd. I took five boards to the mountain because of season coming to a end with spring conditions coming on strong.Started with Madd snow was very firm from being wet the day before quick rail to rail turns super grip and edge hold. When snow started to soften #2 worked great crud chop and gromm...As far as tricks it is made to ec which it does well.I noticed you have alot of boards in the 160 range. The #2 rides more like a 163 than a 158.
  2. Just got back snow is really good .I'm worried about warm weather on its way you guys should get it while the getting is good.Gremlins Gulch has kiiler groomed banks. Frank
  3. Thanks for interest I thought this board would sell by now. This board will make somebody very happy.
  4. Thomas,Neil I'm also heading up on sat.I'll be staying until wed. Hope to see you guys up there. Frank P.S. I'm bringing a big quiver of boards. The time has come to carve.
  5. Nice shot do you have a picture of the coiler ex? I wiil post a pic of my boards later.
  6. Alex,Thats the other thing I have trouble with is the base tape shreds when using file or stone with a base guide it tends to ride on the tape and I worry that its not cutting true.Allee not to jump your thread but maybe this info will help you to.
  7. The stones I use recomend using water but some stones recomend cutting oil which ones are better? Allee what type do you have?
  8. Kimo Kane'ohe is a beautiful place heaven on earth.I lived on the north shore My son was born at Kaiser and thats when I decided to come home. From the tropics to the snow have you adjusted ok ?
  9. Thats sounds like a good price for a custom board.Yes the videos are hypnotizing.Videos are good learning tools pictures are ok but videos show it all the complete package. My avatar is Hollister Ranch only two people out.I was going to ride Mav's after living in Hawaii for ten years and doing alot of big wave riding I really wanted to ride it when I moved back to California until I saw it in person I drove up there six times a studied it.I even had a costum board ordered.Until I saw it really BIG no frickin way.So I headed for the slopes Ecing is a much safer goal.
  10. If you really want to ec watch the SWOARD videos over and over again. How much is a custom coiler?
  11. Still waiting to here feed back on Donek Blade. Anybody ride one?
  12. Tom, When I first posted I was hoping to hear what others thought of all the boards at SES.When I didn't get a response I figured I'd give a review of my sticks I'm riding this season.I was lucky to get a 158 #two and feel the same way about it.I've been riding narrow boards until last season I got a SWOARD and fell in love with the width and took a wider stance with lower angles and found a new style of riding thats very comfortable and versatile.I still dig the racing style but I've got to admit wide boards are sure fun specialy for EC and for more of a surf type of riding.Linking EC turns is not a easy style to learn even for a experienced rider.I have alot of respect for J P and the way they have masterd that style of riding they took it to the next level after Nerva and Bauer. And then you Virus, narrow, fast, deep trenches.
  13. Sims Burner 197,Only ridden two times mint condition this was aback up board.Price $475.00 shipped e-mail frankiesurfs@roadrunner.com
  14. The problem with being a surfer is the heelside is totaly different than the heelside turn used for alpine carving. The weight is on the back foot for surfing compared to weight forward shifting to back foot snowbording. The heelside turn snowboarding is more of a fineline balancing act.
  15. When I first started surfing I was a regular foot but I skateboarded Goofy foot so I decided to start surfing goofy because it felt more natural to me.Later in years I started surfing regular foot which is called switch foot.I was always told that most people that are goofy are left handed but I 'm right handed. The other term always used for a goofy foot is screw foot.Is that goofy enough for you.
  16. Ladia,I have that same board its insane you've got to be on your game to ride it. I like using it early when I'm fresh it demands respect and loves to be pushed hard.Step, I've heard nothing but good things about the Prior thanks for info. Keep the reviews coming guys and gals whats better than having the worlds best carving boards at your finger tips?Thats worth the trip alone.
  17. I tried armor all rain-x,no luck.Last week I smeared a thin layer of silicone caulking on my heel and toe pads it worked great for about a day but it slowly wore off.I'll be trying another elastomeric product and let you know how it goes. The silicone worked great for walking on ice.
  18. Tim what model? Did anybody try the G-force? Was everyone happy riding their own sticks?
  19. Any board reviews from the demo tent? G-Force,Virus,etc.?
  20. What about regular foot and goofy foot which I am.Should it be right foot foward. Some slangs and terms will be with us forever even if they don't make any sense.Last time I was at the beach some young surfers were talking and I couldn't understand a word they were saying and every year it changes.
  21. Just got back snow was unreal.Tried my new tomahawk nice ride 163 sl board also 158 pureboarding conditions were hero snow made first tracks on cornice bowl none stop to stump alley with perfect cord top to bottom. got out today just before the crowds arrived.Neil hows the new coiler? Frank
