  1. Selling a Dupraz D1+ 6' that was used as a demo board for 5 days. The topsheet is called "Prestige". Very pretty. A couple of small lift line nicks as shown in the photos. The base is perfect. The board is located in Toronto, Canada. If you're local, I can can even give you a test ride before you commit. I think you'll be impressed. Fedex Ground shipping is $40 for Canada. $50 for most of USA. I will get an estimate as soon as I know the destination and charge the exact shipping. I could even bring this board back to its birthplace in Europe since I'm headed there in a few weeks. The first image shows you the specs:
  2. I can do you one better. I recently got a bill from Rogers (Canadian telco) for $0.00. They threatened me with cancellation if I didn't pay.
  3. Love 240s but they are hard to find in decent shape. A good second choice is a 850 or V70, non-turbo. Solid, safe and roomy. The last true Volvos before Ford got their mitts into the company. I just bought a 2000 V70 to use as a work beater. Cost me $1,500 + $2,000 to refurbish it.
  4. You should check the cants because they are often out of whack out of the box.
  5. I remember some comedian doing a routine on how many things can kill you in Australia. If it's not the cyclones it's the snakes. If it's not the snakes, it's the dingos.
  6. Still available. Email me if you're interested.
  7. LOL. CBC is way too cheap to send a crew to Spain. They're doing their commentary in a studio watching monitors. They do that for all their ski and snowboard events. At least they are covering it.
  8. Guys, his budget is $4k and you're throwing names like Audi and M-B at him? Having owned about a zillion cars in my life, I would not buy anything German for $4,000. The repair cost to vehicle value ratio will eat you up. Look at $1,000 plus for rotors and pads. Anything electrical - you are screwed. The worst car to buy is an aging VW-Audi product. You'll be reaching into your wallet every time you turn around. The problem with Japanese used cars is the price. They hold their value a little too well. Take a look a Jeep Cherokee. Do not confuse it with the V8 Grand Cherokee. The V8 Grand Cherokee is a P.O.S. The 4.0l Cherokee is a tank. Considering that you'll be driving the car infrequently, you want simple, stupid technology. A cast iron, inline 6 designed in the 80s fits the bill. AMC/Chrysler made 5 million of the things. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMC_Straight_6_engine#4.0
  9. Jeep Cherokee with 4.0l inline six. Torquey, simple and ultra reliable. Any mechanic can fix it and parts for it are available at your neighbourhood Napa. You'll have to look 2001 and earlier for the true XJ model.
  10. Forgot to mention, for the flex adjustment wheel, just use a screwdriver to move it. Don't lever it, move the screwdriver sideways. This is if you want to bother adjusting it. I moved it both to the farthest setting both ways and found almost no appreciable difference in flex. I removed the power strap and swapped the tongue for the orange one to get the flex I wanted.
  11. I got my HSPs with the canting out of whack out of the box. I found the screws to be tight but I was able to loosen them with an allen key. To get the canting to move isn't easy either. I took the liner out, held the boots on a table sideways with the canting adjuster facing up and gave the bottom shell a whack with my fist. That's about it. Not sure where to get parts. Head Canada no longer even bothers stocking the boots.
  12. How about a slightly different perspective? <iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/18412473?title=0&byline=0&portrait=0" width="398" height="224" frameborder="0"></iframe>
  13. Just got mine today. 177 VSR with 13m sidecut. Custom topsheet. ASIP inserts so we'll see how she rides with an Apex Race Plate.
  14. Dude, email me. I bought a whack of Dupraz boards at the end of last season for friends for a group backcountry trip. Ya, I like them that much. I have a couple left. I have a 6' and a 5'5" and I'm in Toronto.
  15. I have a pair of brand new Atomic Waiver boots in size 10. I take a 27.5 in Deeluxe/Raichle and these boots fit me well. I never used them because I got a pair of Burton Driver X at about the same time. The Waivers are Atomic's stiffest boot at the time of purchase (2007 or so). http://www.crazysnowboarder.com/EQUIPMENT/equipment.php5?item=884 $100 plus shipping and they're yours. I think I paid close to $300 for them.
  16. Honestly, I haven't a frickin' clue. The Accelerator, I'm going to guess at 10m. It's a tight board. The Race, I don't know - 12m? Anyone know?
  17. Price drop. Let's move these! I still have these. Let me know if you're interested. The first is an Accelerator 159. I'd rate it a 8/10. No base damage whatsoever. A couple of small dents along the edge. Hardly a scratch on the topsheet. 21cm waist. The second is a Race 168. 9/10 condition. Looks like new. 19cm waist. Tons of camber on both boards. They've been sitting in my basement for years. Great boards for starters or lightweights. The Accelerator is a surprisingly sweet ride. $50for the Accelerator $135 for the Race $35 shipping by Fedex Ground in Canada. $45 USA.
  18. These bindings were used about 10 times. Excellent condition. Unfortunately, I cannot find the box with the extra cants or hardware. But I did find the leash! I tried to shoot a photo showing the canting that is installed on the bindings. The first photo is the front binding, the second photo is the rear binding. Snowboard not included. $90.00. Will ship by FedEx Ground for $20 in Canada, $30 in USA.
  19. Who's going? There could be an Apex appearance. Edit - it's Friday, not Saturday. Even better with less crowds. I have room for 3 if anyone wants to share a ride.
  20. I have a 174 Prior 4WD that I've been humming and hawing about selling for the past 3 seasons. I'm in Toronto. Send me your email address and I'll send you photos and details.
  21. Very nice Marco. Much better than a textual description. One question though - what's the difference between unweighting and downunweighting?
  22. Top right - Phil Mahre. If not Phil Mahre, then Steve Mahre. And to nitpick a bit, according to the IOC, there is no such thing as a former Olympian. Once an Olympian, always an Olympian.
  23. Do you know 60% of those passes are never used? Not even once? Brilliant revenue generator.
  24. I used to own a pair of Blax boots that were basically rebadged Heads. I really liked them except that the buckle second from the top used to come undone in the middle of the run. The forward flexing of the boot would push the buckle past the engagement point and it would be completely undone at the bottom of the run. Is this still a problem? The buckle arrangement seems unchanged from my Blax boots.
