i dont think so, i think the boot canting is more a micro adjustment, at least from ive read and learned is always adjust the binding canting before messing with the boots. my two cents, hope it helps.

my 163 volkl does get "squirrely" on flats.. i thought i was doing something wrong. maybe it is just the length.

i was struggling with the same issues, and i only spent around 500 and i got everything i needed. but i think you must consider down time. i only have a few boards in my quiver, so i don't always have a proper back up board. and the local shops here are backed up for a couple days sometimes, some don't do work on weekends. so for me, to do the work which really doesn't take that much time its worth it. The tools pay themselves off eventually.

one thing i did learn from my brief experience in some trees is dont use intec ! what a pain that was to get back into my bindings. ill stick with std bails . live and learn!

thanks for the advice everyone, i think ill keep my eyes open for a fish.... possibly an osin .. theres just not enough snow around here to buy brand new coiler i get out west once maybe twice a year, so id like to have a proper board for the job. the group i was with said there were pockets in the trees that were never touched, and plenty deep..... man i need to move out west., theres 70 cm of man made snow here, and visible grass on my lawn :(.

ive just recently returned from Big White... had a blast even though couldnt see the chair in front of me most of the time. i was riding my 178 4wd prior mostly due to poor visibility, and i tried going in the trees ... what a disaster that was! i got stuck and had to walk out, and when i did i went waist deep in powder. i was wondering what the general idea was towards riding in the trees? i brought a 163 but its only 19 cm wide and didnt think i would be able get through it. is it easier to use a softboot set up on a short board?/skiis? ..or do i need to expand my quiver? im refering to riding in fairly tight trees.... not the wide open trees approaching the tree line

with a trip this year to Big white , 10 days there and hopefully low 40s high 30s. with just about an hour and a half each way i get a lot of half days.

has anyone had any experience with the graphite moly flouro base wax? can it be mixed with a CH wax? im looking to grab some wax to start doing my own tuning/waxing, and i cant seem to find a definite answer through a serch here or on tognar. swix says i can use it by itself or a base for cera powders. nothing about a CH or Fluoro overlays. tongar hinted about the dominator version working . as for conditions it will be used in , -2 , -8 range and mostly dry with man made snow any help would be great
