  1. riky: Regarding forward lean, should I have more or less? I currently running both boots locked at 3 on my Raichle 124s, which are fairly soft to begin with.
  2. Ba-bump.. anyone? Fin? Jeff Caron?
  3. Im using the center pairs front and rear on both my Donek FC 179 and Timeless 167. Should I try using the front set of holes? What about using a 6deg rear cant disk?
  4. Hey all, So I was trying all of the tips suggested in the heelside turns thread, but the one thing I am not really getting a hang of is shifting my weight forward. I feel like my riding is pretty asymmetric (with regards to my legs), as my rear leg is VERY sore compared to my front. Can you guys give me some tips on staying "out of the back seat" or so to speak. I've tried driving my rear arm forward, making sure i am looking into the turn, trying to dive forward (but this feels like I'm bending at the waist too much). Trying to move forwards in my boots feels like I am going to fall over. I am running TD1s 3deg front and back, 60f 55r, 19.5" stance. Would a 6 deg rear disc help?
  5. Tim, I think I need some more practice to get used to the Donek. I'm jumping from a 164 Ultra Prime to a 179 Donek so I'm not entirely used to such a long board. It got pretty tough to manage when things got crowded. The extra edge hold is unreal though and the board is very stable at speeds I used to be scared of. I think I'll spend a day or two over at June to get used to this board. Sorry to hear about your ankle. I hope it heals up fast. I'm usually up at least twice a month. I should be up there the next two weekends.
  6. Hey gawdzria, I'll be up there this weekend, but I didn't know about the races. The gates will be set up on the regular slalom course near main lodge? I'd like watch some runs at the least. I'm not sure if I'm skilled enough to run the gates yet =).
  7. Hey Tim, I believe I saw you heading down to Eagle Express while I was riding up chair 15. Too bad there wasn't all too much fresh around this weekend. Chair 9 was alright, but heavily tracked out. We should meet up next time you're up there.
  8. Just a quick question: I remember seeing a minimum size listed at one point, but I can't find it anywhere now. Do Mondo 22.5 Raichles fit into TD's (both 1 and 2, SI and standard)? How about Burton Carriers/Race Plates? Cateks? Thanks in advance.
  9. Interested. Email sent. Thanks!
  10. Hey Tim, I'm going to be up this weekend. Probably on softies on Saturday at least due to the dump thats currently in progress. Hopefully I'll get to try out my new Donek on Sunday if things firm up. I'll look for you on your new 4807. =) -Neil D.

Interested in the Donek FC173. Email sent. Thanks!
  14. I was up there the past three weekends. Met a few carvers once or twice. BUT, this past saturday, a skiier tboned me right at the bottom of stump alley. End of the day and the slope was draining out. Really sucks. My kneecap tore away from my knee slightly, so I'm out for a few weeks. Have fun up there this weekend =).
  15. I use softer burton plates on a Ride Timeless 167 sometimes. Works relatively well, cept it feels like it takes forever to go from edge to edge.
  16. Okay I read, virus from bomber, and I started thinking that Bomberonline started carrying Virus snowboards :D
  17. Title says it all. Thanks!
  18. I'll be up there this weekend and the next. I'd like to do June but some of my friends will probably want to be at Mammoth. I'll let you know which days I'll be where. :)
  19. What about orthotics from a podiatrist? I have a pair (and they cost a pretty penny) from my podiatrist for my regular walking/running shoes because I am highly pronated and have completely flat feet. I read that using doctor prescribed orthotics is not appropriate for ski/snowboard boots, why is this?
  20. I have a few choices that might work for you. Please email me at nekdut @ yaw whoo dott calm (parse that =).
  21. Absolutely. My abilities in softboots on a freestyle board (especially at alpine-like angles, 45f 37r) are at a whole new level. I had a hard time with hardboots initially, and went soft for a little while. It was a whole new ballgame. =)

    171 Donek FC II

Very Interested. Would you sell it without the bindings? If so, how much? What color is the topsheet? Thanks!
  23. Boards: Ride Timeless 158 and 167 Bindings: Drake F-50s, Burton Custom Freeride (3 straps! but soft ) Boots: Nidecker Project-X I don't really have an answer to Jack's question, but regarding SI's, has anyone tried using an SI boot (one w/o an instep strap) in a strap binding for the extra stiffness provided by the SI? Do they even fit in strap bindings?
  24. Look for me on a black Ultra Prime on Stump Alley in the mornings (probably struggling with my technique  ).
