Sorry I missed you, never saw a purple jacket. But what a blast this morning was! Until I was thoroughly soaked, but at least it was warm.

VT'ers, what is the local weather forecast for this Wednesday? From what I can find, 40* and 40% chance of rain. You guys hearing anything different? I have Wednesday off and really want to get out and ride!
  7. Todd, glad it wasn't any worse and hope you have a speedy recovery and get back on the hill soon. Good advice above on having family and friends keep a close eye on mood swings, irritability, forgetfulness, etc (at least any change from the normal TB), and report it to your doc.

  10. My dog stays home 9+ hours a day by himself during the week, without going out. A previous dog, was paper trained to go on newspaper spread out in the corner of our basement, and we left the basement door opened so she cold go as needed. We've left her home by herself for overnight before, with plenty of food and water, and access to the basement. All of my dogs have been trained to "self-eat," they never eat all their food at once. I've only had mid size to larger dogs. They've also been crate trained, so they love their crates, it's their own little den.
  11. A huge thank you to you guys for putting this on!!!!! Quick question, I plan on arriving around 4pm on Wednesday, just in time for the ECES Après party in the Bears Den. How should I obtain or who should I look for, to get my wristband so I can join up with everyone...

  13. Morning decision to stay local and go to ski sundown. Have a good day all!
  14. Hey Jonny, I'm thinking the BEast as well. I just hope I can get my daughter into an AM ski lesson, otherwise I may be skiing all day.
  15. I don't want to subject my daughter to VT temps on MLK Day 1/16, especially in the morning. So, we are going to hit a MA or CT hill. Who is going to be riding where? I was thinking, coming from West Hartford, CT: Berkshire East Butternut Mohawk Ski Sundown (was there today on skis with my 3 yo, not bad) I'll have my 7 yo daughter with me, and hopefully I can get her as a walk in to a morning ski lesson. Otherwise she is with me for the day, and I may have to ski with her. Thoughts?

Fun day today, regardless of what the weather was doing. Thanks Steph, Alex and Jonny! One thing I learned today (or many things rather) is that riding a board Ive never ridden before, riding a variable side cut board which I've never ridden a vsr board before, riding a metal board which I've never ridden a metal board before and riding a Donek plate which I have never ridden a plate before, is a lot to introduce all at once (at least to me). Once I went back to my old faithful the groove came back. I think it's time to skip the plate and get to know the new ride before introducing the plate again.

Cool, I'll shoot to be in the base lodge around 8:00am, need to pick up my X2 card. Is it a 9:00am start on Friday, or is it considered holiday? Keep an eye out for me, tough to miss at 6'7", grey helmet, red donek or black donek with a plate.

    Stratton

Anyone going to be riding Stratton this Friday the 13th? Or Monday the 16th? I plan on riding at least one of those days, if not both. But if others were going to be out I was going to bring my DSLR camera gear to get some target shooting practice in before ECES is here...if not, then I was going to travel light.
  20. Ah, opted for free place to stay in Waterbury, doing Bolton Valley with the kiddos. May hit Stratton on Thursday on the ride back to CT if I can get the 3 and 7 year olds into ski school at Stratton. Is it typical holiday crowds there? Quieter than usual up here.

    Eces Q & A

First off huge thanks to the crew who is setting up ECES! I don't know all involved...but thanks! How do you guys want to know what size tshirt for those who do the package deal? Leave the size in the "special instructions for seller" at check out?
  22. Hey All, what shops in CT do a good tune? I usually go to SkiMD up in Mass, but at over an hour away not sure if I am going to make it there this year.
  23. Here are two videos I made with my GoPro Hero (1), but only at 720p, and not snowboarding, just got it after last season: Fly fishing for stripers (flies hooking fish, PETA beware): Bird hunting (gun shooting birds in this one and me yelling to my dog (a lot), PETA beware):
