I agree with you Ken. But I have no pics or vids. I'm just trying to get ideas in my head to think about as to why I may have skidded out... While I still have the day fresh in my head. My front quadricep was (is) killing me, which sounds like I had a lot of weight on it today. Not sure if that correlates to being forward or just having too much weight on my front leg. Unless that is one in the same.

Anyone care to comment on reasons why I could have been skidding the 2nd half of my carves today? Going into the carves I was locked in, with a nice trench, but 1/2 way through I began to skid. This was both heel and toe side. Too much rear weight? Initiating my next turn too soon? Too slow? Too fast?

Okemo was real good this morning on the cord, and then on any spots that warmed up in the sun. It was -14* on I91, -12* in the parking lot, -10* at the lift for my first run, and 13* when I left around 1:30pm.

Looks like I am braving the cold tomorrow at Okemo. I plan on riding plates on a red Donek or white Tanker.

The Starting Gate did my Burton Winds several years ago. I just don't get to Stratton as much as Okemo. Guess I will have to ensure I get over there ASAP. Till then I may have to ride softies, cause these new Heads killed my feet last week.

How is the bootfitter at the bottom of the Okemo access road? Or should I just go to the Starting Gate? I need my Head Stratus Pros, "adjusted." Heat mold the liners and stretch the shells a bit.

Okemo gurus, will Okemo close the mountain due to colder temps? I plan on riding there on Friday, braving the supposed 2* high in Ludlow.

What do you think? What would you do?

Mr. Evil, I'll check my Donek Oppenheim FC 179cm x 21cm x 11.2m and my Rad-Air Tanker Over Size 187cm x 25.8cm x 9m . But a lot my depend your boot size. I riding 31.5s, so my numbers may be way different than yours.

Well, I went, just got home, and my feet are killing me from day 1 in new boots. Conditions were pretty good. Now I just need to get my bots properly fitted. How is the boot fitter at the bottom of the Okemo access road? Otherwise off to the starting gate next trip up.

6:10am and Ben is in CT. Do I make the drive to Okemo today? 8-14mph winds, gusts to 33mph, and 1-3in of snow during the day. Need to decide by 7:00am... What would you do, when you have the day off? Go to Okemo, or bank it for another day and go to work?

I would.....if.....I got my pass already, but I haven't.....so day 1 has to be at Okemo, after that midweek at Okemo, Stratton or Sunapee will work.

Whats the word for Okemo, tomorrow (Thursday 1/8)? I've got the day off...

Here is my quiver, which my 6'7" frame's US15+ squeeze into stretched MONDO31.5: Go to all around: Donek Oppenheim FC 179cm x 21cm x 11.2m Powder, soft snow, off piste: Rad-Air Tanker Over Size 187cm x 25.8cm x 9m Only ridden once: Donek Race 186 Tucker GS 186cm x 17.5cm x 15m Old go to all around, and small mtn: Heavy Tools Lizard 173cm x 19cm x 9m Softies: Donek Delrossi Freeride 175cm x 29cm x 10.7m I would say smaller edge length and smaller radius would be a smaller mtn board. But that depends on your definition of small. Little vert? Narrow trails? Hopefully those wiser than me will chime in. What are the specs of the Oxygen?

We have tropical downpours in central CT right now and ice in the NW hills. Oh well, next week I have Wed and Fri blocked off on my calendar, so hopefully at least one of the days I can make it up there. Thanks for the updates JoeK!

Thanks Joe, everything I am reading says the snow is due at 1:00pm. True or not, please keep us posted. I would appreciate it! I would prefer to ride tomorrow, but if conditions dictate otherwise.... PS, I'll be in an off-white almost grey jacket, grey helmet, and on a red version of your board's big brother, Donek Oppenheim FC 179cm x 21cm x 11.2m, if I feel like breaking in my new hardboots. I need to bring my new head stratus pros, mondo 31.5 there to get fit. Several years ago they had to stretch the shell of my burton winds, hopefully they can do that with these new boots, so I can stuff my 15s in there.
