  1. Contacts...you'll get use to them, to the point that you can put them in while driving...
  2. It took me a while, but last year I eventually found a new pair of year 2001 Burton boots at a shop at Stratton to fit my 14s into...they gave me a great deal, because they would probably never had sold them, keep calling all the shops you can find and asking them... You can try contacting the Bomber folks, they may (or may not) have an inside track on big boots. Not to take business away from Bomber...but there is also a European shop called Blue Tomato or Hot Tomato or something like that, that seemed to have a selection for larger feet. Someone here problably knows the website. There was also a guy who winters in Canada that sells UPS boots and some other gear on the web, but I can't remember his name or site... The Starting Gate in Vermont may have something, www.startinggate.net I think.
  3. I see my Rad-Air Tanker OS 187 as more of a Range Rover Defender 110 (like the Defender 90 but 4 door), rather than a BMW X5...
  4. I like the idea of a fleece vest with a simple logo on it.
  5. I don't like redheads, please convert me...jk:D So, how large has our condo grown, due to this thread?
  6. http://mironov.net/pingu/pingu3.swf 764.1 javelin style at this one, 1153.2 sliding. There is also one with a 2 in the url, but the 3rd one sends 'em tha farthest...
  7. Hey Vermonters, what are the local weather people saying for snowfall accumulations by Wednesday? Okemo, or Mt. Snow area? From the forecasts I can get for VT (from here in CT), it sounds like Wednesday may be a good day (12"+) for my tanker...we are supposed to get 9"-12", here in CT... Thanks! Ben Anyone maybe want to meet up? I just may have to take Wednesday off...
  8. How about XXLT... I'm... 6'7" 270lbs mondo 31s with US15s squeezed in them...
  9. Where to go, if to go??? Anyone else riding in New England this Friday? Hey Vermonters, what is the wind forecast for Friday in VT? From here (CT), my sources say 10-15mph winds and temps in the single digits. That might be doable, but if it's blowing over 15mph, forget it... I am not afraid of the cold, but I might be of Wind+Cold...at least the mountain wouldn't be crowded... Thanks, Ben
  10. Hey ECES Organizers, Did you ever get my $30? I sent it out at the end of November, to: ECES, LLC 57 Franklin Street Concord, NH 03301 I haven't seen it clear my bank yet. I just want to smake sure you got it, so I know if I have to cancel that check and send you a new one or not. Thanks, Ben Safryn
  11. PSR - I will keep an eye out for you. Any idea how the mountain should be looking for Friday? Taking today's rain (at least thats what my sources say is supposed to happen at Okemo today) into consideration... Thanks, Ben
  12. Thanks to all for your offers...once end of the year stuff is done, I will take some of you up on your offers...and I also look forward to whatever ECES has to offer...and, Friday will be my first day out this year, at Okemo...if anyone else is around, look for a tall (6'7") guy, silver helmet, riding a Rad-Air Tanker 187 or red Rossi Throttle...
  13. Buggs...we are in on the same condo for ECES, so it would be good to get out with you before then. Which end of CT do you live just outside of, West or East end? I am right outside of Hartford. Where do you ride at night? PSR...my first scheduled day out this year is going to be Friday 12/19 at Okemo, probably (could be talked into Stratton or other). Any chance of getting an hour or two of your time then? I actually may be able to go up on Thursday rather than Friday, depends on which day looks better for riding, and which day you might be available. Feel free to email me, PM me, or leave a post here... Thanks in advance...
  14. Anyone interested in giving me an hour or two of their time at ECES (or prior to) this year to help me out with carving? I can pay you in cash, beer, food, etc... I plan on being at ECES from Thurs to at least Sat. Or, if it can be sooner, I typically ride at Okemo, Mt. Snow, or Stowe, but I would travel pretty much anywhere in New England to meet up with you. I live in CT, so if anyone meets to meet at a CT hill at night, I am open to that too... My background: last year I picked up a '97 Rossi Throttle 173 to learn on and later in the year '03 Tanker O/S 187. I had been riding softies for about 15 years, and was able to make trenches with a Floater 167. I did not dedicate last year to harbooting. But I put in at least 15-20 1/2 days on my hartdboot gear. The other 1/2 days were playing in the woods. I was able to lock in some carves, with some of them linked. But, I have never actually even ridden with another hardbooter before. So, I could use some tips and the experience of watching/riding another hardbooter. Any takers? Or, recommendations on where to look for "professional" instruction? Moderators, please move this post if it should be under the classifieds as "Help Wanted." Thanks!
  15. Anyone have room for a 30 year old rider to join them in a condo for 8? The dates of which I will be attending ECES are currently flexible, so whatever fits with the rest of you in the condo will work for me. I would however like to be able to attend the Friday night gala, but I can find my own accomdations if need be for Friday night. All of my friends bailed on me (wives wouldn't them go, babies on the way, etc...) after I drove CMC, Jack, and Ken nuts with questions... Also, anyone interested in sharing a ride? I will be leaving from CT in my '03 Expedition, so I will have plenty of room, plus Thule boxes... PM me / check my profile for an email address / or reply hear...thanks!
