  1. Those are dirt cheap. The newest battery drills are probably more than fine at this point, they are really great. If you’re using it only for this specific purpose and don’t want to worry about charging, the gently used market for corded is pretty solid (at least in my area) with everyone switching over to battery.
  2. What a unicorn: “Need high speed 60+kmh GS piste carves. With soft boots and low angle duck stance. Also, extreme carving and tail-hook freecarving. Must float well in powder and offer playful pop for side hits.” Ef it, might as well also throw in oral sex. Let’s see just how much magic Sean has in his bag…!!!
  3. Seems like it would be pretty easy to 3D print shims a la F2 if someone knew a guy
  4. Did Bruce adjust his press over the summer?! Impressive
  5. Only a couple quick garage snaps before going on a Christmas vacation…if the weather back home keeps up, I might even get in some January dirt rides!!
  6. Finally did an upgrade to a We Are One Arrival 152. It is a bit bigger than my current bike or what my terrain really needs but I ride pretty hard and should use the travel. 29er wheels feel strange and my jury’s still out on the fancy electronic shifting, but so far it’s a scary fast and capable ride. And kind of cool to have a made-in-Canada carbon bike!
  7. It’s pretty brutal so far. Here’s to January….
  8. I got those last year. I really like them, but the footbed might as well be like standing on concrete….
  9. With a 25.5 waist and 26.5 boots I think you’ll have to run about a 24-27 degree back foot to not get bootout. Not ideal.
  10. I say it’s pointless to waste time scrolling through all this perfectly fine equipment — just take me directly to the “sucker born every minute section” please…….
  11. I think any board can carve moderately well. Go rent a shit park board from your local hill next weekend and I guarantee you’ll be surprised at how well you can lay it over. You’re mistaking board performance for rider interest. The vast majority of riders are not interested in carving fundamentals period. Whether their board is designed for that in mind or not is completely irrelevant.
  12. I hope that was AI generated…… One more thing is width and boot overhang, to avoid boot out when carving. Some boots and bindings are longer than others. Depending on your foot size and board width that could be a consideration. For feet size 9/42 and large, board waist widths under 26cm will need moderately high stance angles to avoid boot out. Unfortunate I don’t think boot makers generally publish the total exterior sole length. You kind of have to compare. The Flow NX2 bindings do not have a lower heel cup, and as result they have slightly less heel bulk than some other models. Something to consider.
  13. Burton Driver X Burton Ruler Deeluxe Edge Pro Ride Insano Salomon Malamute Nidecker Kita K2 Thraxis Vans Verse I’m sure there are more, Jones has one I think… Edit—see also the Powerride boot topic, insert is sold on this site
  14. In general most hardbooter seem to enjoy stiffer boot setups. That probably makes sense for hard carving. So if that makes sense to you, just look at the stiffest (and usually, most expensive) boots and bindings.
  15. You’re thinking old ski metrics. Snowboard length has always been weight or discipline-based to my knowledge.
  16. Your website says it’s no longer in stock nor available. Looks like you got the last one
  17. Hahaha this hot take is amazing: “I love to take my narrow hardboot alpine board to the park……but only if it’s super stiff”
  18. Ok now this is interesting, I love it!! Sooooo…why??? A symmetrical carving board that has low-speed skid maneuverability? Do you have some sort of unique death wish and like to hardboot through moguls or butter or hit booters or something?? It feels like you may have a super unique type of application or else you’re a completely insane mad scientist with money to burn!! **Edit, just saw your next post in the Park topic, so you’re the only person alive who wants to ride hard boots, a narrow board and posi angles in a park. This man likes to take his knife to…..a tomato fight? There is no analogy for this. Good on Winterstick for building a one of one and fun to hear about someone doing weird shit!!!
  19. Seems like it’s either sold out or no longer made? Can’t find it
  20. There was an actual scientific paper about 15 years ago about how the 1970s global cooling narrative was just a sensationalised media story based on a very small number of predictions at the time and some localised cooling. THE MYTH OF THE 1970s GLOBAL COOLING SCIENTIFIC CONSENSUS Climate science at the time was more rudimentary than, say, contemporaneous knowledge of cancer or heart disease. But I don’t see anyone pointing to the latest research around heart disease and saying “but a few experts suggested something totally different in the 1970s, this entire field is so full of shit!!!!”
  21. I’m starting to feel that this statement may surprise you, but this is not a black or white situation. People need not be either oil-chugging, coal-rolling monsters or self-sufficient, off-grid nomads. But the reality of how CO2 affects our climate is what it is. Pissing into the wind won’t stop what’s coming.
  22. Yah, starting exactly at 5:00 there is a murderer’s row of just beautiful single turns. I do wish they showed a few more linked turns. The guy that strings a few together starting at 5:42 is a real nice watch.
