  4. My son and I own Carveboards and I would say that it gives you the rhythm of linked turns with a "soft floating" type turn, like you would get in 6" of powder. Air pressure and board flex play a big role in the feel of the ride, and you want to keep your speed in check to avoid speed wobble. I weigh 210 and ride a 9 ply and my son Cody at 160 rides a 7 ply. You can't get too aggressive on one but on the right incline with the right air pressure they are fun. I don't ride much anymore because pavement doesn't give like Utah powder. Water looks soft, maybe I'll try surfing.
  5. Here's one for you Jim: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/pRDcbPAe2g4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  6. I usually don't care for footage of skiers flying through the air but this preview is pretty cool. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/eL2sCAvM29A" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  7. Thanks for the link, reminds me of one of my last days on skiis. My brother in-law and I were at Snowbird after a storm that dumped 10 feet in two days !!!
  8. It's cool to look down and see a dog running down the hill. Alec came over from Snowbasin for the day and we talked a bit, he says he carves a few days a year and I invited him back to meet our small crew here at Powder (yes it is Timberline Tom). This is a pic from the top of the Sunrise pommel lift looking at a storm coming in from the west.
  9. Actually not crowded at all today, 14" in two days. February fluffy, I love carving but this is a great way to end the season. A chairlift makes a good frame for my last powder turns of the year.
  10. I love the pic at a minute-O-four, great video/photo.
  11. Great, the rollerbladers of snowboarding.
  12. Thanks Mark, that's the bottom of Timberline Connector. The wind kept the snow from getting too soft, it loosened up enough to dig in real well. Kipp
  13. I figured out why the tip of my right mitten is wearing out.
  14. I agree Mark Hidden Lake is great, quite during the week not too many people to keep an eye on. I'm working on carving upper Clairs as smooth as Dickie Moon does, the section with the trees in the center gets me most days. Cody captured a few shots of me on lower Clairs, I enjoy carving the sides and the roller at the bottom. I've missed meeting/riding with Don the past 2 years I'd love to see him ride switch, Rebecca says he carves backwards as well as he does forward. It was 100% my fault running into Cody, we've been riding together for 18 years and I usually give him enough space and stay out of his line. It gave us something to laugh about and nobody got hurt. Cody thanks you for the kind words Jim we had a great time watching you ride, he did say that his front leg did get burning a little.
  15. Thanks, the kid was gracious enough to say that we were both at fault but I clearly spaced a little at the end of the run and ran into him.
  16. Had a great day carving with Buell, Rebecca, Ron and Jim. My son Cody has always been a great soft boot carver so last Sunday we finally had him try hardbooting. Picked up some softer flexing ski boots at the Salvation Army for 4 dollars and I gave him my 9 year old Donek Axis 177 (before Axxess). I couldn't have been more proud of him, watch till the end he makes a big toeside then heelside and I manage to get a good close up of him with the GoPro. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/cof_KLQdXqo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe>
  17. Powder Mountain Utah, here's your snow. http://powdermountain.com/
  18. Back in '99 I picked up a Supermodel 174 and spent 12 year tearing up the deep powder here at Powder Mountain, I have a lot of good memories. Moved on to a Rad Air RR177W but I've held onto that Supermodel. It was a soft board but it taught me how to carve a turn. Happy Trees, Kipp
  19. I've been riding Heads for 9 yrs and I saw a huge improvement when I installed the BTS. I didn't think I could improve the boot because they always were comfortable and I felt like they were performing well. Then I added Booster straps last season and WOW, better control and quicker edge to edge. I thought about cutting up the shell but the idea of not being able to go back kept me from making that modification. Good luck and Happy Trees, Kipp
  20. I've been riding like this for 3 years and it's never come loose, find the right size bolt to thread into plastic, put a drop on it before installing and Dremel to length.
  21. Back when I skied I worked hard to keep pressure on the outside ski, I always admired the Mahre brothers. Bode pulls out some incredible saves on the inside ski, but looks great here on the outside ski. Even after 15 years of skiing I find that there's nothing like carving on a snowboard.
  22. Just made the transfer, thanks and Merry Christmas.
  23. Would you consider 250.00 shipped to Utah? Thanks for the response, Kipp
  24. I thought the some of you may be distracted by the good looking male model in the picture of the Millet down jacket so I "shopped" it to show it without the hood. Really is a nice jacket, Pertex ripstop with international rescue symbol inside. Make offers on any, need Coiler money;)
