Occasional soft boots: suggestions

If you choose to ride hard boots on a wider board at significantly different angles from your normal stance, then you should watch this video first to understand how the angle changes change the geometry of your stance and how that interacts with your physique.

I don't have a lot to compare with, but I'm happy with the Burton Ion boots and Genesis X bindings I picked up.  That's a little softer setup than most here recommend but they seem to drive the board just fine and are quite comfortable.  I was looking for more of an all-mountain setup than pure carving.  I don't think they make the Genesis X anymore, if you want Burton's stiffer binding it is the X or the Cartel X.

I have an old K2 clicker set of bindings and boots from about ‘06, but the boot straps have perished.  Are these worth looking to restore?

Do you have Nitro boots with buckles and straps?
