we are famous!... made the big mtn snowreporter's daily video. no new

snow made for a great groomer day. overcast and foggy made the lighting
flat all day, but vis down low was good and up high not so good. was a fun
day riding with kram, cuban, angry rick and two plank mark. the video
says it all...

Thursday snow report: Fresh corduroy. Hero carving conditions. Woo hoo!

Got a few runs in before having to go online this morning, and saw a good turn out of carvers today:

Cuban, Slopetool, West Carving, New Dave, Mario, Rick, Kinpa, Kram, and Rob Berney.

We're into double digits today.

another great carving day. the morning was good visibility on chair 2, but

above that the fog starts to thicken and by the end of the day it slowly

creeps down to the village. started on chair 2 then did a few runs on chair 1,

but the fog pushed us back down and after lunch it got a little rimey. we had

a big crew today and it was fun riding with everyone. we are in storm mode

so don't know what to expect tomorrow... it was raining in town...

well, big mtn reported five inches over night so brought the softies.

really wet-n-heavy snow and foggy on top. chair 2 was groomed and

looked carvable as was toni matt. my first run down the face to five

then heep steep was smooth sweet butter, did a gray's golf course

and it was nice. could have hardbooted and it would have been fun too.

today ends WTF13 and it was a great week of carving with everyone.

thanks to all who showed up. goodtimes!!!...

what a great day! eds was perfectly flat in the morning and the snow

conditions was perfect. heard sunday had chicken heads from saturday's

warm bluebird day. i had a funny feeling yesterday that the season was

over cause it was so warm it felt like a spring day, but today's snow

fixed all that. today was amazingly good and it got better as the day

went on. should have brought the bigger board as there was hardly

anyone on the hill... awesome day...

just like yesterday, but a tad firmer and it got better as the day went on.

classic big mtn fog all day. again flat light with the high clouds. temps was

comfortable and feels like a spring day. really need some new snow and

cooler temps. after lunch getting back on snow a little kid about 4 or 5

years old says "i like your board, its a beauty" made my day...

worked in the morning then up to the big. when i got on snow it was already

bumped up and set up into wet hard piles down low and kinda soft piles up

high, not the best conditions. as per usual fog all day then lifts around 3:30.

it was a tough day carving the bumps... very spring like conditions...

really nice firm groomers, brought the small glass board cause its saturday

and had a blast , but a metal board would have rocked my world today.

started the day with mostly cloudy skies with good vis then fog slowly moves

in then clouds lifts about 1pm had lunch then it starts to snow till 4pm then

low clouds near village and all around, but sun peaks thru on eds till 5pm.

snow just got better as the day went on and it got just a bit softer by the

end of the day. cooler temps kept things dry, but still very comfortable.

a great carving day...

Hold that thought. I'll be down this weekend - it's Family Day long weekend in Alberta - which means that most of Calgary will be there with me. Fire up Chair 5.:)

I'll see if anyone's in the lift line for Chair 2 at 9 on Sat ...

really great groomers! eds was so smooth in the morning. hardly

anyone on the hill cause we havent had any new snow for awhile

so all the powder hounds stay home. again, classic big mtn fog

all day and pretty thick. we are in storm mode and cooler temps

kept things dry. should get some new snow in the next few days.

forcast is a busy holiday weekend...

we are in storm mode and it was a grey foggy day. thick fog from top of

chair 2 and two chairs vis up high. fog slowly moves down and by 1pm

it was creeping down to middle of eds run. groomers was really good,

but with the flat light it was hard so i called it early. there was hardly

anyone up today and the few who came left early. it was cold and damp,

but still dry enough and didn't get wet, but it just wasn't worth it to be

there all day. still had some good carving...

well, had to work wed., thu., fri., and we were supposed to get some new

snow, but it was mostly blue skies the past three days with good vis all the

way to the top. looked like it was going to be a sunny day, but as i got on

snow high clouds moved in and just the summit had some lite fog. massive

holiday madness made it a challenging day and groomers were better than

i expected. met up with allee and took a few runs with her. did some chair 5

runs and all the lifts were spinning. took a fall at the bottom of the bowl, but

did not get hurt, i think i did a spinout, a roll and a 360 spin on the tail of my

board with me on the ground. anyways, a fun day on the hill...

Always good to meet up with you, A. My legs were pretty burned after I took those runs with you and Rick ... way out of practice. It was a shame the light was so flat on Saturday - Eds and the runs off Chair 2 were wonderful, and Big Ravine would have been fantastic if it hadn't been just one big white blob ... Later afternoon off Inspiration was good though. Got pow tracks on Chair 2 yesterday, and then two epic runs down Glory Hole ... giggling good times for Alex and I!

Sorry I missed you today - we were all kind of done and the girls weren't keen on going up, so we got a headstart on the traffic and got home at a decent time.

Planning on heading back down the last weekend of March to pick up my bike and take it home. Looking forward to making some more turns with you guys then.

big puffy clouds all day, spots of sunshine and good vis all day. groomers

were not the best as there was bumps in the seems from yesterday three

inches of powder. the high traffic bumped up the soft groomers and the

warm temps made it kinda wet hard pack. i was on my small glass board

and it wore me out. there was alot of people today and i hope tomorrow

will be better. was looking for allee all day, but i guess she had a good

powder day yesterday and was pooped. i'm glad you made it home safely.

let me know when you'll show up again. another fun day...

looked like it was going to be a sunny day, but it started out with a super

high overcast that filtered the sun and we had good vis. groomers were

awesome, no new snow and second day pressing of the new snow made

for some really good firm groom. still somewhat busy, but not too bad.

about noontime the sky opens up with blue sky sunshine for a few runs

then back to high overcast and by the end of the day just starts to snow.

there was some dark clouds with snow coming from the northwest.

forcast is some light snow... today was really good...
