KingCrimson
Bullwings, 82B ends up being quite a bit harder than 100A if my memory serves me. (Probably doesn't)
carvingchef
Hi ursle i ran across these wheels while i was looking around for other things i know that 62mm it's a couple of mm wider than what you are looking for but they come in 80a and 84a and if you already saw them, never mind http://socalskateshop.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=5942 http://socalskateshop.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=4390
KingCrimson
Ursle- few facts I found from pulling out my dad's books. A, like you said, is more suited to softer urethanes, with B and D being respictively suited to slightly harder and much harder materials. Unfortunately, it's not linear, the plots comparing A to B were a big mess.

BlueB
i have a newer and narrower (single kick) dogtown DYLAN WALSH board that i modified into a combination small wheelbased downhill board / bigger course hybrid slalom / smaller course gs board. the final wheelbase is about 20 inches which makes it very versatile. here are some pics you can use as a guide: I tried riding this little beast today. It's a hoot! Turny due to the shorter wheel base, yet still stable. We also played with many various setups today, changing the bushings and the boards. The Vampire rides very nicely now, with different trucks, hard bushing and de-wedge in the back and soft bushings in the front. Maybe Roy would post some pics of our project board, regular cheap pintail with home made front wheel cut-outs and increased wheelbase... Arclite
Whats the set up on the vampire right now?
BlueB
Vampire now has 150mm generic Indy type trucks, generic freeride 70mm 80 duro wheels, slightly dewedged in the back, flat in the front, very hard clear bushings in the back and very soft blue bushing in front. Base kingpin washers removed, truck kingpin washers inverted, and front conical bushing inverted... I still can not get over 0 flex thing, though. Next change would be slight wedging of the front tuck.
BlueB
This afternoon I scored a pair of Tracker 219s and a set of NOS 65/78 Kryptonics Route 65s, for cheaps of fleabay. They would probably end up on my 1st freeride snowboard, as a dedicated streat luge, for sliding with Luka.
Gecko
Candy Spanks Jailbat all set up.........Stage 7 Indy 215's with 8mm Axles, my last set of Fishballs...I've been up and down the street a bunch on it just playing around, first thought is that the concave is much more aggressive than I am used to second thought is how amazing it feels......sadly I won't be able to skate it fast until next weekend

BlueB
Hey Andrea, I love fiddling with Vamp. Thanks again. Yup, son likes having all sorts of fun with dad. He's especially keen on skateboarding (or street luge that we do more often). To the point that he wouldn't touch his bicycle for more then 5 minutes... This mornig he was telling his mom that "he is a skater".
CarvingScooby
Maybe Roy would post some pics of our project board, regular cheap pintail with home made front wheel cut-outs and increased wheelbase... Finally, I can downloaded from my "ancient" cell.:o Received this pintail deck from BlueB. Thanks Bro. You know how to get me out of the door. Realise that both wheels touch deck by my 200lbs+, mod need to be made. With the help and with the result of the "steady' hand of BlueB, whoala nice slick aero nose. Also add raisers on both & a few adjustment was made last Saturday by Doug on the truck nose and change stiffer bushings on the back. More rebound and less turny on the back, way stable. Thx Doug
CarvingScooby
hi BLUEBi made a few tweaks to roy's board which i thought was necessary after seeing him ride 2 weeks ago otherwise i would have just let him keep the board as is. all my carving boards are for a sub 200 pounder so i didn't have anything suitable for him to use. the only thing to do was to try to tweak the set up of one of my stiffer dh boards as a big heavy guy's carving board. i think i found the solution. the demonseed with an indy 215 clone at the rear mounted flat until he learns to slide properly and then dewedge it. since he was complaining that the randall r2 wasn't turning quick enough for him, i swapped it out for a revenge truck. as long as he stays under 20 mph he should avoid death. i think after he gets better and starts going faster he will definitely want to put either the randall or indy back up front. unless you are really skillful (i am not) the revenge trucks seem to be more of a slow speed supercarving gimmick than a serious higher speed truck. i dug out some mint condition 76 mm krypto classic k wheels in a harder green (83a) duro for heavyweight ROY. these wheels are the original krypto formula not the crappy new formula so i think he will still be happy with these wheels after he progresses past the beginner's stage. with these wheels ROY will have no excuse for not being able to slide like DARRYL FREEMAN in those old kryptos ads lol. Quiver #2 special set up for heavy weight (only 20lbs+ more then I suppose to) :o but I'll set this board for me & BlueB. Thanks Doug, you are the champ This dude is really stable. After you've change to REVENGE, I noticed is easier to turn and it does gradually instead abrupt. I think the wheels also take a big part, not collapse under my weight. You did something to the back truck too didn't you? So who will join us this coming Saturday? Ruwi, xy9ine, George? Last week met another newbie longboarders that does carving too. I guess YVR/Vancouver's carvers steadily incline:biggthump Cheers Roy

Gecko
today was my first day over 30mph on my new Jailbait.....my comfort level at speed has altered radically since last year before my broken ankle. They set up a course on a less steep hill for kids to try it. KarverKai went right after it on his "popsicle stick" and had a great time. I had fun racing KK on my "popsicle stick". BlueB
No videos from yesterday... We ran out of the "digital film". Ruwi brought his Trikke. It's quite a carving beast. Leans over and gives sensation very similar to aggressive ski carving. However, it is extremely sensitive to back-forth weight distribution... I managed to go over the handlebars twice, one with sommersalt. Landed on my left shoulder both time. The same one I had dislocated few years ago... I think it separated again :(
ruwi
I can't believe it was me, that was really my first time on a longboard. I remember watching my son riding a little bit of the short ones but I never really tried myself. Now I'm hooked too. Doug(tenorman) sent me a photo of him in a downhill competition at Alberta and my thoughts were " I will never set foot on those boards, now why I didn't do it before. I will be 55 next year, just call it mid life crisis, freedom 55, whatever:freak3:
