I've had a number of their brews and have been pleased...not a fan of fruit beers but their Stout is amazing

just had a black chocolate stout last night - yummy stuff.

tis the season for the burly ales. brasserie dieu du ciel's (from quebec) peche mortel (a coffee imperial stout) is another favorite. as is deschutes abyss, stone imperial stout, avery czar, great divide oak aged yeti... winter is a good season for beer. i'm jealous of you american's superior selection of esoteric micros - lot's of amazing stuff that isn't distributed up here. i smuggle a haul every time i'm south of the border.

If anyone ages beer, I have 6 bottles left of two year old Dogfish 120 Minute IPA that rocks, hard core. I also have some 2002 Thomas Hardy's, 9 bottles left I think.

Anyone tried the Stone 12th anniversary? It's a tasty Chocolate Oatmeal stoudt. They use unprocessed cocoa, so it should age very, very well.

I need to get around to buying up beer and aging it.. my only aged beer has been a gift from a friend's dad- dogfish 90 min ~ 5 years old. It was much smoother and overall better than the fresh stuff though for all I know, it may have been brewed by a different recipe then.

Tony (gecko) has been holding onto some thomas hardy's for a LONG time if I remember correctly.

Jim, when are you heading west ? I'd be happy to help you finish off those old beers. Mrs Whit and I have been planning a weekend getaway to NYC before the holidays, my buddy moved to the East Village a few months ago, maybe we can coordinate something.

Give this one a shot if you can find it.... Kinda pricey though, around $20 a four pack in the US.

The Mill St. tankhouse Ale is deadly (on tap at mitzi's for bfast)

brooklyn ale (on tap at the Caddy lounge for evenings)

Amsterdam Natural Blonde (all over the city)

creemore lager - cant drink in copious amounts, but deadly for an after hockey beer...

but inevitably i end up buying a case of Labatt 50....

Wife and I usually have a case of Guiness and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale on hand.

I like most all the stouter stout's, oatmeal stouts. I do brew up a batch now and then. My problem, among others, is that I start drinking it two days after it's bottled. Actually, I guess I start drinking it during the mash stage..

haha, otter creek copper ale is pretty good too.

those double bags are something else though, you get halfway through a sixer of em and it starts to sneak up on you, by the time you finish the fifth, your in no condition to do anything constructive for anyone. :D
