  1. ..dont want to throw a wrench into the 'wtf u aint golfin' yet' ('cause I NEED to get out and hit a ton of balls before myrtle beach week), but I thought the key aspect of a metal board is providing a BarcoLounger-like ride, especially on ice. ?
  2. I've got to assume that Bruce built this for you? If that is the case, it's my feeling that (great board construction nonwithstanding) Bruce really understands how to build a board to each rider's individual tastes. It's been my experience, that if you know what you want out of a board, Bruce will get it to you as specified. ..and yes, I'm in line for another...
  3. With paintball so popular, why not combine paintball with a few olympic sports? (As mentioned, Ice Dancing) Curling, ski jumping, halfpipe, ..... maybe just the judges should be allowed to carry..
  4. Many thanks, Neil! Summary: Spent sat pm and early sun am with Neil Sunday @ roundtop. Snow was good, A hell of a lot more people than I'm used to dodging, but got into enough that Neil picked up on a few technique flaws. We went through a lot of drills that reinforce proper technique that I'm confident will help me with the steeper stuff. Neil's a great boarder and coach. Look him up if you're out that way..
  5. +1 on this as well. I believe this is why there isn't a bunch of hardboot gear layin' around. Most people enjoy watching a good carver, but dont have the time, inclination or motivation to seek out "the goods". Once they find out the gear is hard to find, or find that the gear is hard to ride, they move on.
  6. Whoo ho! I've got a monday meeting in Philly and have the opp to head to the eastern side of the state for a day-day1/2 of riding. I'd like to catch up with someone and get a half day lesson either sun am or sun pm. My email as listed is inoperative (my side), so offers/ideas can reach me at rmoyers(at)zoominternet(dot)net or cell 4127203294. Neil? others?
  7. Thor, i'm gonna have to pass on this due to funds. I've just started a second company that i need to infuse some cash into. whoever gets this is one lucky mutha.
  8. hmm. must'a been spring 08? If I remember right (which my wife tells me I usually don't..), he was out of the country last season.
  9. Skatha: Thanks for taking the time to respond. I hadn't really thought about any complications from a mid-december event on the board. I basically went hard into a carve and the board did it's job..the rest of my body was too far behind. End result was what felt like a muscle tear in my lower back (right side, front leg, same leg that is still twitching...). That being 2 months ago, I'm thinking that I may want to have someone look at it. thnx again..
  10. will call tomorrow afternoon to discuss further.
  11. Thor..Thor...Thor.. THAT deal is too good to pass up, my friend. Hang on a sec while I double check the funds..... btw, made for anyone in particular? Wt range?
  12. We have a shop at the local hill that rents out high-end ski's to demo for a day. So, if I get a wild hair and am looking for a ski that is towards the specialized end of tight tree's and moguls, what ski should I be asking for? It's been a few years since I've been on ski's, so a good intermediate ski would probably be in my best interest. (I did start skiing @ 4 and did so until I was 32 and REALLY loved moguls. I kinda miss them.)
  13.. (I wonder how he'd describe a board with a varible sidecut? )
  14. Thanks for the re: My friend bluebird and I got a half day in with him when he was at copper. I'd like to get in some more time..guess I'll have to head north!
  15. LOL. Well, you guessed right on a few of those points! I do love coffee (hence the coffee roasting biz)..and if a good IPA or a Pinot Noir count towards a poor diet, then so be it.. not gonna give those up! I went out running with the doggy last nite for a bit..this morning seems to be better. The twitching is still there, just less intense. I'll try stretching today and see if that helps. Ursle: catek's, front leg...and actually I have been entertaining the idea of messing with my lift/cant again. I'll try it.
  16. I've had a quad muscle "vibrating" on and off now for about 3 days. It's just like a cell phone vibrating in my leg and the damn thing goes off every minute or so. It's getting annoying. Any idea's to resolve this?
  17. Is he in the states yet? Last I heard he wasn't.
  18. yep..still there. Lately it's been feeling different. I would describe it as similar to gargling with lemon juice after having a tooth knocked out..only in my ankle. may be time for a tune-up.
  19. Great thread! I'm seconding the vote for a free SES tickey. (More vacant mountain pics pleez...)
  20. Nope, your english is fine! Image of me at 75 came to mind... made me laugh..
  21. Carvedog, nice setup there. Shoot, I'm in the market for a USED lund fishing boat and that'll be ~6000. And, while catching a limit of walleye on a picture perfect summer day out in the middle of lake erie is fun, it still doesnt compare to laying it out on a snowy, icy day on a blue run and still putting down some perfect carves...
  22. I'm seeing this as just the type of interface I'd like if I had prosthetic legs/feet.gine the ball locking into a socket at just the right angle.. isn't there a socket that locks down with some type of twist ring? I'm not remembering where I've seen that before, but I'm pretty sure it's out there. btw, the interface between the ball mount post and the board appears to be an elastomeric ring?
