skatha
It's been soo dry here in Helltown that the big palmetto bugs are coming inside looking for water-these are the big 2 inch long Blattus americanus or American cockroach. Last night, my husband awoke to hear one scratching at something in our bedroom. There was a big production that culminated in big bad Sam killing the bug. Tonight, the other side retaliated by sending a advance bug scurring up Sam's leg at dinner. These bugs are normally quite shy of the light.....maybe it's global warming... Me...I'm staying out of it!
big mario
While I was still swinging a hammer, I really enjoyed festering splinters, espescially when you found the perfect place to push and they would squirt right out. I am however, easily amused. mario
Gecko
yuck I hate palmetto bugs...one thing I do not miss about the south. today on my way home from work I was rounding a turn I know in my sleep and bam right in the visor of my helmet slams a June bug...goey, nasty splat across my vision...good thing I knew the turn because I was blind and couldn't have reached up to either clean or even flip up the visor for at least 100 yards

Gecko
Had the same thing happen last year, except it was a yellow-jacket......and my vizor was up. yeah thats the reason why my visor only gets cracked even in the rain. My dad had one hit and sting his neck about 3 miles from home once...he was in shock when he got home...it took about an hour for him to recover for skatha
willywhit
my first time in Brazil,in Rio, I sat down to breakfast at the hotel buffet and opened the sugar bowl on the table to find a bunch of tiny ants havin' a party. Pretty gross. nuther time, in northern brasil, in Bahia, whilst taking a latenight piss I noticed ants crawling all over the sink. Without contacts in, I almost didn't even notice. fyi,Never leave an open beer on the window sill and take a sip hours later:nono: We bugged out in the morning and found a different pousada to stay at.

Allee
For some reason, cockroaches only skeeve me out mildly. Unlike these guys, who used to cruise around the house in New Zealand. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weta Wetas, crickets and grasshoppers - anything that jumps scares the bejeezus out of me. The first time I went to Saskatchewan in the summer, I thought I was going to die.

carvediem
... you should get that great pentium 1 game KKND (Krush Kill 'N' Destroy) where you can practise the fight against powerful insects ... as for the ants coming through the patio door each summer I have installed proactive countermeasures early and so far succeeded in keeping their numbers low

skatha
are indigenous to the south-also big apartment buildings wherever... They like hot and wet places I've been stung a bunch of times on bike rides-including the face. That was a wasp. It hit my sunglasses, grabbed the edge of the lens and turned around and stung me. I take antihistamines always before I go on my century rides-I always get stung. Mostly wasps get me, which is good...it's hard to scrape a bee stinger out while going about 20 mph (I didn't stop for anything in my younger days) I got stung a few weeks ago on my thigh through the bike shorts. I didn't know what it was until I got home and stripped to shower.
