bobdea
wrong. he himself claims the place is not a good place to ride due to the place being spread out and the traverses. Worked at the place for years and saw Bob Jenney there more than Jack

Phil
Our projected season opening remains Nov. 9. This is a one time chance to whet your winter appetite thanks to Sunday River snowmakers. You had better get sick and go home now.
trailertrash
wait? what? does everybody have amnesia or something? is this your first season beginning? (rhetorical question) the first days suck!
Phil
First days never suck - unless you are a pansy who only likes perfect conditions.;)
trailertrash
it is not necessarily the conditions as much as the combination of crappy conditions and crowds.
Phil
I would settle for threading the needle in crappy conditions over staying home today. But alas, this opportunity is not for me.

bobdea
ohh, it's just T2 and you have to upload and download on lift four, in other words DON'T BOTHER. this lift has a mid station and this is where the skiing is, just not worth it. lift 4 blows to rides, it's slow and a very long ride. Jack M
Gaaa! I didn't see this until too late! Oh well, couldn't have gone anyway. Yeah, I don't ride SR normally. However last year me and the Mrs. played hooky there one day. Dropped the kids off at daycare and continued on to SR. Picked them up on the way home. It was great for this. Sugarloaf is too far for a day trip, and for a mere 40 extra minutes of driving each way, I'll take SR over Shawnee. Especially with a skier. We stuck to White Cap and Barker, avoided all the traverses and had a great time. White heat was awesome for carving. The place was empty and we got plenty of runs in. We'll definitely be doing this again.

dano
My legs ache just thinking about the miserable commute from Barker to the Jordan Bowl, ( my favorite sr peak ) and I haven't been there for years. Maybe they have a parking lot over there now? It would be nice to go make some turns!
