  1. I am going to have One of our local boarders Zac Kay put the plate back on for me but... There arent any inserts drilled to re arrange the Hangl for a Regular Rider??? Does this mean that I cant Ride It With The Hangl? Does it mean that I have to have a shop put in more inserts and Heli Coils??? Will More inserts affect the board in a bad way???
  2. Ok So I got one of these 07 Kesslers with a hangl plate. The board is set up for a Goofy Rider And I ride Regular. I have dissasembled half of the plate and am stumped. After you diss assemble the entire (Half) of the plate, there is a long white strip that the plate lies on....How the flip do you move that thing...Is it glued on or what????
  3. Well actually from my experience and others most of the time overloading the nose doesnt come from torquing your legs too much though that is part of it. Actually that comes from being to far forward through the entire turn. So more so it is a form issue. When you are to far forward in most situations you are putting too much pressure in the wrong portion of the board. A smooth turn should compile a smooth weight transfer throughout the entire length of the board from initiation to exit of the turn. They actually have five buckle boots and boot height definitely isnt an issue on this subject. More so a form issue from rider to rider.
  4. I will take the 07 182 and 162 I am very interested. Would I have to buy both Hangl plates or could I just buy one of them?
  5. Hey Bodea how long have you worked in MAMMOTH? What department do you work in? Were you around a couple years ago for the CNISSF High School State Snowboard Championships? Well maybe next time im in Mammoth we could ride? P.S. Sorry for the Thread Jack!!!
  6. Yes Sir F2 is defifitely going metal. The World Cup Models have a small metal insignia on the top left of the board(Farthest 2 boards in the pic above). The New World Cup F2 will incorporate Titanal mainly near the center of the board under the Binding inserts. My buddy talked with a Canadian Pro rider (Former Team F2) now riding Kessler. This guy said that Next years World Cup Speedster is made to incorporate the "Silent Flex" System. Riding with that system he also said the dampness and Overall Ride is 100% comparible to his Kessler set-up (Along with the Hengl Plate)!!! I think I know what I am getting next season. F2 F2 F2! The new models will also go up in price (Around $900) and the Silent flex will be around ($400).
  7. Hey Does Anybody Have some more photos of the New F2 Lineup? How About there copy of the Heignl Plate?
  8. I will be there Sunday at Eight For the group Training!!!
  9. Hey Barry How is that SPEED treating you?
  10. I guess that there is one thing I Know for sure. I have learned a valuable lesson through breaking my first board (Understanding I Quite possibly was the reason it broke). Racing is expensive...Alpine snowboarding is expensive. In order to excel in this sport you need to be training everyday (On Or Off The Snow) and riding Top Notch equipment. I am serious about racing (Doesnt mean i'm good) and also doesnt mean I (My Parents) have the money to break boards every two months and definitely doesnt mean I will ever be a top rider. I love racing (On Doneks or any board for that matter) and will continue to enjoy it Know Matter what.
  11. Alright, well as I was trying to post on the (I snapped My Donek) a moment ago (It was closed)! So here is what I wanted to say. I did not intend to disregard or cross off any snowboard company from anybody's list. I wanted input on a claim thats all! I was going to delete the post but then it was closed to edit. Also, I would like to add that Sean is a reputable builder, he has tons of experience, a great product and superior quality. I was unlucky to have my board break...Story Over. Donek is still a great company. Were I come from (West Coast Northern California) the board to ride is Donek. In our state championships this last month the top five boys and top five girls were all on Doneks. I know some kids who have owned two Doneks (One GS, One SL) for 3 or four years and ridden the crap out of them and they still perform wonderfully. I was unlucky and thats that.
  12. Alright guys, I am not trying to offend anyone or put any snowboard company down as I am new to "breaking boards". I have been racing since I was eight and gone through plenty of boards(Never breaking one though). In the last couple years I started moving towards something custom. I decided to go with Donek because I rode one of there GS boards and it was Flippin Awesome!!! So in October 2006 I ordered my new Donek Slalom board. I loved the board and it was amazing. Then about two weeks ago I was in a big race and had a great first run. Came to the top of the course and looked at my base to realize I snapped the tail of the board in a really weird place (Never seen a Donek do this). I rode the board in six races, 18 training courses, 30 days total and I owned it for three months. I took really good care of the board and only used it in training courses and on Race Days. Then I sent the board to Sean, figuring it would be covered in the warranty. He said that the board was not covered as it wasnt a "Manufacturers Defect". He went on to say that sometimes snowboards are ridden hard for long periods of time and they break because of it. I weigh a 145 lbs and havent folded the nose, landed on the tail, crashed hard or anything? I was also quite confused as I wasnt offered any type of discount on ordering a new board or anything...Whatever I just dont understand how Myself (145 lbs.) can snap a high end snowboard on a clean run in the middle of a race? Any suggestions? Am I S.O.L?
  13. Well I know you are probably looking for a condo or something of that sort but the big hotel chains start most two bedroom rooms at like $40 bucks/per night so if you are interested in that route its probably much cheaper than a condo or such.
  14. Both Two totally different rides!!! Right??? I mean my buddy has the Prior WCR Metal 183 and when you get your weight over the nose it folds super easy. If ridden properly the board absorbs everything! My Olympic donek supports almost all of my wieght on the front without folding and absorbs bumps Super well for my 145 lbs!!! Whatev, a donek and a Metal board definitley cant be compared!!!
  15. The California Nevada Interscholastic Ski-Snowboard State Championships will be at the Mount Shasta Ski Park March 4-8. Should be some sweet racing!!! Anyone in the area who wants to see some competitive High School Racing should definitely Come!!!
  16. Well, some of my friends and I from the high School Race Team will be coming up on Wednesday-Thursday from Mount Shasta. We are actually coming this time!!! So maybe we will see you there. We are training for our California State Championships the first week in March. Should be Fun!!!
  17. My mom says 1 bedroom apartments go anywhere from $500-$1000. also there is not a USASA series her but in Tahoe thats were I race USASA. We have a Huge High School racing scene and our local college puts on a Snowboarding class were we run gates Wednseday, Friday, and Sunday. If you are serious about moving somewere out west I could check on some prices in the Northern California area including Tahoe???
  18. I live in a super small town (pop. 3500) right at the base of BEAUTIFUL Mount Shasta (14,673 ft.) down in the valley of the Northern Sierra Nevadas an hour fom the Oregon border. We dont get too much snow on an average about 3-6 feet in town and at our local ski park. The temperatures are pretty mild for a Winter (Not too hot not too cold). It takes about 20 minutes on a good day to drive from town to the ski park, 35 on a busy day. Its a very small ski park at the time (3 lifts) but looking to expand.Very laid back community with a HUGE Alpine Racing scene (More raceboards in one county then I've seen anywhere!!!No Joke. Well maybe not Colorado!) Realty prices are starting to settle but are still pretty expensive. Great town, Beautiful, tons of nature to explore and a huge mountain in the background, Sacramento River, and more. I consider myself Lucky to be born here.
  19. I weigh 145 Lbs and my GS boad is a Donek GS 175 with a 7.0 stiffness and the Core Construction Uprgrade and I have no problem whipping it around on a course. I really wanna try one of the 180'S I just already have a perfect GS board for me or I would have already bought this one!!! Also I talked to Sean when I was ordering my board and he said that the longer the board the more minimal the change in stiffness will be. He also said that for example, an 8.6 stiffness on a Slalom board would be noticeably stiffer than a 180 with a stiffness of 8.6.
  20. Ya man! The name of the shop was "The Fifth Season". As you have already figured out I said they HAD 4 of these boards in different colors. Seeming they were a few years old and not a Super Popular board with any of our local Carving Community the owner let them go brand new for 75 USD. I unfortunately didnt appreciate the APX's width as I have grown up on narrow sticks so I didnt get one. However if one of our locals decides to part with his/hers it would probably be like $50 and when I see one come up for sale I will send you some Mail!!!:)
  21. Not to bust your bubble or ruin this thread....I will delete this if asked. But, my local shop had 4 of these boards brand new in the wrapper and sold each one for $75? Just thought you might wanna know...
  22. My ski park just opened and I was riding my new Custom Donek GS board (Construction upgrade and everything) for the first time. I rode for 4 hours and then I was on my last run of the day with some of my friends. We stopped half way down the run and then started again. two turns after I started this guy i'm with who is a good snowboarder runs right into me going moderately fast. I look at the back of my board and there is like a 3 inch delamination of the topsheet. Then I took a closer look and near the very end of the Metal Edge were it meets the rest of the board is also delaminated. My local shop guy said that he could repair the topsheet easy but he hasn't seen the other delam yet. The worst part is my Race season starts in 3 weeks and I sould every board in my quiver to get two new Doneks. So basically unless this is an easy fix I am done for. :barf:  :angryfire :smashfrea
  23. DUDE you are first in line if I could just find a pair of used Indys!
  24. Mike, have you ever been to the Fifth Season in Mount Shasta? Have you ever been to Mount Shasta? Well there head shop guy is a tuning god. His name is Vinnie Poch and about four years ago he was one of the head ski mechanics for the U.S. Ski Team. He has since retired to Mount Shasta were we have tons of Alpine snowboarders, He has definitely got the Alpine board tune down. Also he has some of the best tuning euquipment that the U.S. Team uses. The Fifth Season was also one of the Top tune shops rated in Ski Magazine last year. You should come down and ride for a couple days and try out his tune. It's worth it! OH YA, Go PTC TUNE
