  1. SG Full Race Titan 163. This board has 30 days on it. It was used for training and racing during the first half of the NOR-AM race season. Edge life is 80%. The board has had one grind in addition to the factory grind. Edges are razor sharp, base edge set at .5, side angle 3. Top sheet is in near perfect condition, no vist marks present. Some loctite residue present in the inserts from vist plate attachment. These boards speak for themselves. I love these boards and would recommend them to anyone looking to progress in alpine snowboarding. This board would be a great addition to a free ride quiver, an aspiring racer that is growing, and could also be affective as a GS setup for a younger racer. PRICE: $ 700 shipped in the Lower-48. More images can be sent via email. raceboarder7@gmail.com
  2. After glancing through the thread I though I would give my input. Racers competing over the last 10 years have seen a dramatic increase in the amount of technology offered. Boards incoroporating metal with longer effective edge length have been the cornerstone. Along with these metal boards plates have appeared with several options available today. The Vist plate system is arguably the benchmark in slalom racing today. Vist differs from a full suspension plate in that it is locked in place on the rear inserts of a board. The front of the plate however is able to slide freely along the front inserts of the board. Many competitive racers prefer the Vist for slalom because it offers increased torsional stiffness, allows the board to flex more freely under pressure from the rider, dampens the feeling of ruts under foot all while allowing the rider to maintain a certain amount of feel as to what the board is doing under foot in course. This is important in slalom because since the turns are tighter than GS, placement and precision in a rut filled race course are paramount. Another perk of any plate including the Vist is the added elevation of the boot and binding, creating a stance that will not be susceptible to boot out under most conditions and board angle in relationship to contact with the snow. Full Isolation plates such as the Apex plate, SG Plate have moving parts on the front and back axles. They also add height to the boot/binding interface that will help decrease the susceptibility of a rider to booting out. What these plate systems do so well is isolate the rider from the board. The rider is providing input to a plate, the plate provides the input to the board. These plate systems will dramatically decrease the amount of vibration a rider feels due to a rut filled race course, or in any snow condition for that matter. Along with this comes what many agree to be a slower reaction time in comparison to a Vist plate or other similar semi-isolating plate systems. Feel is another topic for discussion. A benefit to less feel is less physical vibration effecting a rider while in the race course. Less vibration could mean that a rider is less susceptible to falling in and out of position during a race. Body position is so crucial to not only how a board makes a turn but also wether or not a rider falls from a mistake or not. Although all this seems to add up to a benefit in the race course, The opposite argument can also be made that having less feel of what your board is doing underfoot may hinder your ability to adjust for a mistake in the middle of a race run. All in all, Plate systems definitely make a positive difference on and off a race course. Understanding how a board reacts with and without a plate will greatly increase your effectiveness of using one.
  3. It sounds like you already have been given a wealth of information. Ill add just a little more. I wear a size 11.5/12 street shoe. I have UPZ RC10 28/28.5 with a sure foot liner and orthotic. The Deeluxe liner is definitely a high volume liner. If you want these boots to work for you they definitely can. A low volume liner with an orthotic and a toe cap when you form the liner would definitely do the trick. I hope this helps.
  4. Are these still available Divebomber?
  5. Does anybody have one they would be willing to part with for a reasonable price? Anybody know we're to get one?
  6. Mort is your best bet in Tahoe! He is a great coach and a fun guy to ride with. The Squaw team trains a lot too. If you feel like driving, there is dedicated race training Wednesday/Friday nights and Sunday mornings at Mount Shasta Ski Park about 4 hours north of Tahoe. That is were I grew up and there is quite the hard boot following up there. Not quite what it used to be but to have gates set up 3 hours a day, 3 days a week was a luxury!
  7. Hello, I am curious in an above post someone said something about how you modified your Dalbellos for a BTS kit. Is there any chance I could see a picture of this process? P.S. Congratulations on building your own plate system!!!
  8. As talented and passionate as they are about the sport it baffles me that they are not members! BOL is such a great resource for gear, fantastic advice and a shared appreciation of a wonderful sport/hobby!!!
  9. No harm meant in my post Snowman. I was privileged to grow up in a community full of talented hardbooters; boys, girls, men and woman! For our local race training camps that occur over Christmas break on a good year we would have over 100 high school kids from the surrounding area who all had an interest and a passion in alpine snowboarding. It was an honor and blessing to grow up in an area that had such a profound effect on me as far as snowboarding goes. And there are many beautiful women (inside & out) who enjoy the sport and I was lucky enough to befriend some of them along the way. To close, I guess my point is quite simple: there are some really great gals out there who rip on a snowboard... It would be awesome to date one because it would be a match made in hardboot heaven!!!! Or atleast it would be one thing we had in common! :) Does that clear it up???

  11. The funny part is, I know six gorgeous girls who all ride hardboot setups and fit the profiles described above very well, been riding with them for years, even grew up with them. However, you will find none on here because they do not currently and probably will never have a BOL account...
  12. Rob From Mount Shasta, CA who goes to college in Idaho!!!
  13. Hello, Cannot make any promises due to the lack of funding I have as a poor college student. But, so long as I dont have any races I will try and make the five hour drive form Moscow, Idaho on over the passes on 90 for a couple days!!!
  14. I am originally form Northern California, I am going to school at the University of Idaho in Moscow, ID. There are three hardbooters down here who would probably interested in running gates on a weekly basis if they can afford it! Silver is like 2 hours away I believe even though I would much rather go to Schweitzer!
  15. Well I have not been on a freestyle board since I was ten but I am doing the collegiate racing series this year and will be competing in BX. Anybody have a board they are willing to part with for a reasonable price?
  16. I am pretty sure the only difference is the topsheet and the price...
  17. Go take one of your snowboards on a date.... better luck with them then my sister
  18. Guess I was a little tired last night I left out the crucial elements. She is 5'8 120 lbs.
  19. Hello everyone... My sister is an avid rider, loves to carve and enjoys hard booting every once in a while. She wants to get a freesttyle board that will both let her carve fluently on groomers, do decent in a race course and let her explore the powder. Since I havent been on freestyle gear since I was nine I figured I would leave this one up to some more educated minds. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
  20. Well, I have relocated to Moscow Idaho for College. Has anybody ever heard of Schweitzer Mountain Resort??? It has to be one of the nicest places I have ridden. Yet, nobody knows about it??? they have a small USASA program but there is a good hard boot rising there. Lots of potential!!!
  21. In case any of you guys are wondering... Vic is a great guy and a kick A$$ racer... I got a 185 KST with Hangls from him this year and the board is amazing, Vic is quick with shipping too. If your looking to get to the next level in racing, or just want a board that will rock your world then these are for you. Just to show what Vic is talking about with the weight question... I am 6'2 155 lbs... im essentially a toothpick on a board... and love the new Kesslers. Although they are HUGE dont be slow to buy just for this reason. As Vic said, it just depends on the power you ride with. The more you put in to these boards, the more you will benefit. My 2 cents.
  22. I have used both the Stratos Pro, Indys, also the former Raichle AF 700 of which are all great boots. However the new hot boot for me isn't actually a snowboard boot at all. It is a freestyle ski boot. Daibello Krypton Pro in Lime Green. AWESOME BOOT.
  23. I dont have any pictures to upload at the moment but I doubt you guys have even heard Of The Mount Shasta Ski Park. It is small, Only three lifts, with three seperate Hills. If you ever come to Northern California in the winter... A ticket is cheap ($35-40) and we have some great alpine terrain. Many steep pitches, Many!!!
  24. Anybody else on here racing Open this year?
