  1. Depends on the conditions but on a really cold day it's tough to get going and wax helps a ton there. Also, wax helps a ton on really warm days. But more importantly it keeps the bases from drying out and cracking. For the most part I just use all purpose all-temp wax. Also a waxed board is easier to turn since it's easier to get going in the direction you want it to.
  2. Don't call that dog "lifesaver;" call him "sh!thead."
  3. I have a pair if you are still interested. I also have a set of three hole plates for the bomber suspension kit if you are interested in this too. email ben -at- bogeydog -dot- net
  4. Bob, what do you feel is a compromise on the iMac?
  5. Jack, Because you want to keep the computer for 5 years I would say get the macbook pro. It has a faster processor the ability to hold more memory and the graphics card has more memory. The processor is not something you can change out during the time you have it so go as fast as you can there. Moreover, you'll be getting a bigger HD and memory out of the gate so take that into consideration with the price. Consider the refurb as an option as well. Same warranty as new but at a significant price decrease. I've done this twice now with very good success. Apple Care for the laptop is almost a must but you have up until the original warranty expires to get it and add it to the primary converge. This is 1 year from purchase. You won't need phone support since you can just call me. But if you have hardware problems it's a godsend. I've only used it once but if I didn't have it I would have been porked. Keep in mind that I have had over 7 different Macs in different configurations in the last 5 years and only 1 AppleCare issue. Desktop I wouldn't do it, laptop, without a doubt. Also, you can get AppleCare from anywhere as long as it is apple care. It's just another retail product from Apple. Amazon typically sells it for ~$50 less then Apple and it's the same thing. Don't be fooled by the Apple store idiots. Geoff, You and I are getting the new iMac 24" 2.8Ghz once the new Mac OS X, Leopard, hits the streets. This way we'll get the new OS for free. Should be sometime in October. As for resale. Macs hold their value very well. I have a 3 year old iMac that I plan to get $800 for. I couldn't do that with a 3 year old PC POS. I have sold both Apple laptop and desktop with great success on eBay. ->Ben
  6. Boards have been sold. Thanks for all the interest. ->Ben
  7. So I took a couple of quick photos. The yellow one is the 189 Jasey Jay and the silver one is the Chris Klug 185. The yellow one has storage wax on the base which is the reason for the strange texture on it. My apologies for the poor picture quality. Picture are here http://picasaweb.google.com/bschurma/Burton
  8. Bryan, thanks for the tip. I'll have the pictures up soon. Thanks, ->Ben
  9. I have the following Burton FP boards for sale. These are not off the shelf Burtons but full on customs. Both of these boards are stiff and meant for someone around 200lbs. Both are great boards if you are looking for a custom stick take a look at these. Custom Burton - Jasey Jay - $300 + shipping Length - 189cm Waist - 18cm Sidecut radius - unknown but I would say ~16m This board is in good condition. There are marks on the topsheet but the base is in perfect condition. It has been on the snow once since the tune. Oh yea, this is a full PTC tune. Custom Burton - Chris Klug - $350 + shipping Length - 185cm Waist - 21cm Sidecut radius - unknow but I would also say ~16m This board is in almost new condition. Topsheet is near perfect and the base is also almost perfect with full PTC tune. There are some superficial scratches on the base from riding but otherwise PTC fresh. Please email me at ben -at- bogeydog -dot- net if you are interested.
  10. Do you really think that I would take a picture of me in the suit. I think that's the last thing that people want to see.
  11. What size are you looking for? I have one that is new that I'm looking to get rid of. It is a Canada national team one but it is very nice. I can send pics if you are interested. ->Ben
  12. The Dutch used Scheveningen as a password during WWII since the Germans couldn't pronounce it.
  13. Scheveningen that is. :-) Sounds like fun, I didn't make it to the indoor ski slope myself but I had a blast when I was there. My mother-in-law is Dutch and she still has family there. The Dutch seem to know how to live. ->Ben
  14. Good thing I do my own oil changes, etc...
  15. My advice for anyone looking to get a cat. Dogs have friends, cats have servants.

    Bad Beers

Heineken is only good in the Netherlands. They don't actually export the good stuff. Plus is has to be poured correctly with lots of head. The stuff here is ram piss! As for Guinness, best beer ever! It won't be beat, it can't be beat, it IS the champion. Piels. Worst beer ever! My dad used to drink that stuff. I think it so I wouldn't swipe it. Keystone pulls in a close second though and he still drinks that crap. But hey, I'm no beer snob like Jack. The best beer is free beer. Don't kid yourself.
  17. Anyone who carries a weapon should be prepared to have that weapon taken and used against them. Have you ever felt that threatened that you need to carry that kind of weaponry?
  18. Wait. You have more compassion for people who lost their house and possessions in a flood to those that lost their loved ones to an idiot? The ONLY thing you can't replace is your life. ->Ben
  19. I don't believe that trailertrash was a mod at that point. He has only recently been made a mod.
  20. Thank you for your dogma. However, could you please post ANY specific examples of this egregious behavior of the mods? Last I checked this was NOT a public forum. You registered and by doing so agreed to certain rules. One of which was to be moderated. You have no first amendment rights here. ->Ben
  21. Jack, I think that BMW is better then Audi for quality but anything german is going to drive great but they are delicate. But you know that the BMW is the international symbol for a$$hole. I just wish the Japanese made a wagon with decent power and AWD. There are a few, like the Subaru GT but Subi quality is suspect. If Lexus or Acura had one, I'd be all over it. ->Ben
  22. The 180 RC was my first Coiler that I ordered from Bruce and although I have ordered more since then, I keep coming back to it over and over again. It's a great carver and very versatile too. ->Ben
  23. For Sale: One O-Sin 3800 snowboard in excellent condition. Only one day on the hill. Small blemish on the base, easily repairable. Specs and more pics on request. Priced to move. Bindings not included. Reply With Quote Pictures can be found here: http://picasaweb.google.com/bschurma/BrokenBoard BTW, this is a joke. I just wanted to poke fun at my misfortune this past weekend. I knew it wasn't a carving board but I didn't think that I could snap it like this. Across the board, sure, but lengthwise, I didn't think a board would snap like that.
  24. Nothing complicated like soldering. You just pop it open carefully and carefully remove the cable from the old drive and put the cable on the new drive and pop it back together. While you have it open you should replace the battery but that's up to you. You can even get special tools to pull the case apart. http://www.ipodmods.com/shop/1050-safe-open-case-tool.html Replacing the hard drive: http://www.notpopular.com/blog/comments.php?blogID=63 Replacing the battery: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,1835131,00.asp ->Ben
  25. On my Mac I use a program called Podworks to get music off an iPod and imported into my music library. But I guess there is this program available for windows that does the same thing. It's called Music Rescue. I have never used it but I think it will do what you need it to do. http://www.kennettnet.co.uk/ ->Ben
