  1. if you want to pay Euro for hand delivery I may be able to comply...in the meantime, all good things to those who wait patiently.
  2. yes that is the short answer...for softboot and binding...I think east wants specific brand/model names? I will not advertise a binding, but I've seen anytype win races from stepin to the flowstrap and even alpiners on hardboot. It is the driver not the car...yea? In addition, the 4wd may accept hardboot but the board is designed bit wide for benefit of any plate design. They use any and all kind of models on the tour, but you also want a solid snug interface that will not explode...Of course, you also need something with warranty/service or binding you can replace, if you find yourself in that situation.
  3. Did mistral participate as well?
  4. I have three questions for fun: 1) will our old friend AR ever log in with secret name again? 2)...who has the fastest career record here on the site before they were banned? 3) for internetbonus...where did cmc first issue challenge??? haha use your memory only..do not use the search! ;^)
  5. if he does not like the skidder title, will somebody simply give the skidder a star for his belly? all you need to do is stick it out for a few more posts...wilkommen!
  6. The bomber resell is ruthless, yea? Maybe panthe will bite if someone undercuts with a $100 renntiger?
  7. There is no physiologic apparatus in muscle fiber to 'remember' anything...the musculature is highly adaptable through specificity...where do you scientists come up with these things?
  8. >:-O LOOK HERE, YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND THE SEARCH TERMS DO NOT WORK! Furthermore, the face at the top is angry, and he said in bold red, for you have wasted my sweet time with your oversight... I just want to see how this looks in the screen haha back to work
  9. when you decide to purchase, choose wisely. You will need to anticipate reasonable mfr. service and replacement. Use caution; I am inclined toward equipment I can replace...yes, because it sucks having to rent garbage when your ideal set has delam, broken, stolen, etc. Try try try try try try try and try once more until you find your best fit. Repeat for board, boot, liner, binding etc. Also *boots: most competitors wear a smaller size outer than normal. Use a custom moldable liner and expert bootfitter to make your boot work with your personal geometry. Some discomfort you might have will disappear when you cut nice turns with your watertight interface. You will discover over time most sizing is a scam anyways.
  10. hey why did it post two instead of one? did someone plant a virus for us?
  11. Well...I was hoping for a nice photo of a shear binding plate...that is much more exciting!!!!but a kingpin is an easy fix yea? You likely shear it in two (especially if you use a type of alloy riser plate in conjunction with the catekset). If it were a choice for me I would find a drillpress and press a bigger hole for larger bolt and use longer 12/14mm stainless allen head bolt --why settle for the 10mm when a 12 or 14 would do? Of course, you will need a 12/14mm pivot bolt for capture... I think the old OS was 12mm?? But I could never wait for two year for a wee 10mm kingpin--that is a certain crime of itself even if the bolt and catek sticker is free! If you are a big robust boy to shear a 10mm on a stock setup, void that warranty sir, get your drillbit to your plate, and pray that your larger single bolt will hold!

  13. In the interest of commerce, convention, good will and diplomacy I would suggest patience and perhaps add you try to contact per his request at hs@cat mail. You have your perogative, but you cannot imagine the public message is best served with more decorum and less ambiguity than merely punctuating your note with binding failure. Since you have made us aware, what is the extent of the failure, or what factors lead you to determine either the design or material has failed it's intended purpose? I don't work for catek, and I believe you really feel you'd been slighted...but I am sure you will find eventual solution to either your or caron's satisfaction only after he has had examined the product and received due opportunity to determine whether failure was mechanical or due to some user configuration/modification, typical to Alpine setup.
  14. ...well I hope he/she does not attempt to bid in order to generate interest...it may not sell for much more than the first bid.
  15. I would build a vertramp and bypass the pebble. The secret of Vertical is a wonderful gem. 220
  16. Well, two things I like about the BOL Greenback: it was made to raise the standard with no preface of allegiance to one group over another. I also like that (as far as I can tell) the Greenback was developed to raise the quality of the performance and at the same time with accessibility in mind. There was no allegiance to any National Team and no high-tech secrecy other than the RD to make the concept a reality. I could be wrong, but it seems BOL enjoyed motivation to experiment, improve and develop this model only because Apex had no intention to provide the model for market other than rumor of 'highest bidder National team.' Again, that's the impression some of us took from the Feb. interviews and public domain comment following the Apexplate introduction to the Games. *Now before any 'fans' bristle and bark, the circumstances how the Apexplate may have been funded, developed or introduced are secondary to the unfortunate environment Alpineracing now faces: the Apex reality is that ONE team was given advantageous equipment. It happened and it will probably happen again in our lifetime, where resource will provide the good fortune of advantage at the highest levels of Sport. But what is also noteworthy is that this particular accessory model was perfected (not created) by a NON-INDUSTRY company (there is another thread in that last comment for another time). We concede the countless incarnations of plate/binding/board modification we all have sought in some form or other, simply because the Industry to this point had been preoccupied with sales to promote brand rather than the very niche demographic of performance-seeker. That is precisely why many of us have turned to Tinkler, Varsava et. als. with the aim of modifying something no board manufacturer was willing to do in the first place. If I'd a Euro for every time I'd heard "but racer's don't sell boards, so..." from a US company or "rep," I'd have enough saved already to drop on Apexplates for "my entire quiver of Kesslers that I don't own without a second-guess." Further, in the case of the secret Apexplate, money was no object. Top engineers with nearly unlimited resource and Disclosure Agreement were obliged to the task. It's clear performance and desig--to benefit the highest-level ability level were the paramount concern rather than "selling snowboard brands" to the lowest denominator-demographic. Moving on; Kessler is no Burton, and for this reason alone I am obliged to support the Kessler product over the Burton and other Industry darlings. The Industry in US has led the overall sport awry, to the point kids (in the US & all over the world) will gloss over glossy magazines with splash Ads sandwich articles on fatstance and hiphop lifestyle more or less. That the labels sell product have less to do with athleticism than funky clones unable to cut a turn on ice (regardless of equipment) to save their life. Few would argue the extent Burton and Sims each had the potential to Kessler status, but chose to appeal to jibtastic masses, lifestyle and everyman rather than progressing the Alpine (racing) aspect. Innovation is always the key, yea?...but who will determine the proper direction and proper source of motivation toward any given pursuit? If the future of the sport is 25in stance for railsliding or hucking and pant waists below ass around the thigh/knees, then the value is certainly not progression in the sense of athleticism. SlovenlyPeter is cute but not when he is too worried for peers than his ability to his sport. The Industry's sense of value clearly creates its own monster with a steady diet of fad and funky slacker fashion above all else. Not that hardbooters themselves are guilty to effect a 'look,' (no comment here) but MY eye is always turned to the drive to progress at the behest of the flock, whether that flock is projecting 'cool' or 'cost.' If I seem like a mean and sour bastard, it is because don't use sugar when I have something to say. Left to the non-athletic masses, the Industry has done little apart of show me how to ruin a sport. The point isn't that RD money effects premium quality in every case. This season, ALL racers with at least a bit of money to spend will have reasonable access to a wide variety of plate accessory or other. Some of these efforts will cost lots of green, and some will cost less. 'Caveat emptor' suggests we spend our money wisely, but in any case the out of pocket will determine how much a particular plate may be attractive to a particular budget. Some constructions will truly raise the bar, others will certainly leave the faint odor of 5HIT the moment the board hits the snow. We saw this phenomena in binders, waxes, boards, inserts, doodad and widgets past--In the freemarket, 'progression' invites all efforts to the party, with little discrimination where quality is concerned. Any sport should be about the best in equal field of talent and resource. True, vision AND lots of RD money was necessary in order to bring the Apexplate to fruition (certainly all FIS parameters were scrutinized throughout the earliest processes). But the highest bidder tone I felt early on, is what really put me off for the Apexplate. Time, finances, or lack of standard I require may ultimately change my mind where I spend my money, but I have a bottom line and that is my only concern. As far as the Greenback name, do not forget how absurd XEROX seemed at first. I would the names hinting of US-made...that are distinct, distinguishable (from all the other plates we will see), something that lends some US nostalgia but does not offend for a change...
  17. The site looks good, but I think I'll wait for the Greenback!
  18. here is an opinion: Nutrition most important, but most often neglected given either any major sport or vast majority of athletes within a given sport. In any field of equal financial and training/resources, technique, talent, and ability/capacity (to excel), the top percentile of Athletes within a field will likely have enjoyed the benefit of superior nutrition to perform consistently and at their highest levels. Tests show nutrition will impact the Athlete's physiology as much as his psychology. There is a reason top sports teams allocate more money than years past on Nutritionists alone. Heeding this information is another issue altogether!! There just aren't enough hours avail. in 24hr day to out train a poor diet. Top training will entail qualified coaching relative to an Athlete's racing goals...provided the Athlete and Coach match; the Trainer (or Coach) must have the ability to transmit the appropriate developmental tools specific to the sport and the Athlete in order that the Athlete may be persuaded to his highest level of participation. Technique that is either 'sound' or 'faulty,' follows as a result of the training. An eye for technique (to match the ability of the Athlete toward his goal) is one tool the Trainer may provide. The Athlete must also have the capacity to maintain the standard of training/self critique of his technique in presence of and absent his Trainer. Equipment is a by-product of the Athlete's specific financial/logistics reality, but even the Top equipment cannot benefit poor technique. Technique will often beat flash all things equal. We meet many enthusiasts on snow with equipment beyond either ability level or poor snow-skiing (gliding-cutting) technique, and often a Racer who could have out-performed his result, had he the proper equipment to match his level training. If a new Kessler (with BOL Greenback plate) and were avail. free to every Racer carte blanche, I would guess the results would ultimately reflect the Nutrition, Training, Technique of the given field that day. This is only one opinion that might not be congruent with your own knowledge, believe what you will...do not take my word for your rules. Furthermore, this was not the purpose of this thread, apology to community in case anyone feels their time was not appropriately served here.
  19. ..any 3d binding product is suited for use with Burton board...Burton is only mfr. integrating the 3d as standard. 'Older' is not necessarily indicative of substandard equipment, for your purposes of learning to meet your specific racing goals. *user from SanDiego, CA: PM me if you truly have a need to undermine my comment or would seek clarity with something I'd written...I would rather convey to you in private, my perspective how proper training will preface opportunity to focus on technique. We have no idea what you intend to accomplish otherwise...Do as you please (agree or disagree), but take make no piss and take no offense with a response, when you volunteer to steer a thread away from it's original direction.
  20. absolutely correct...and good choice for OT saved a little kid when I was @12 surfing on a school morning (the boy even had an innertube)! I'll never forget what a drowning person looks like (vertical no screaming, detrimental 'involuntary' movements, etc)... that is likely how the guard was able to spot the child through the parent's foolishness.
  21. If you are a racer, the stiffest boots you can possibly purchase will not be stiff enough, same with binding. Furthermore (based upon your talent, ability and motivation), you should expect to spend more time/money than you can imagine modifying your gear/interface time and time again to perform closer toward your satisfaction. It never ends, but your goal is to always improve; nutrition, nutrition, training, technique then equipment--in that order.
  22. "if the glove don't fit...you must acquit."
  23. 4 left...thank you! Remainders will be consigned in SF(?) or... 110 there was an assumption to Pi(?). This location is what it is --much like an old poem I remember from a child...go to off topic for more ya? I did not know locations need correction for any reason, but it is good the engineer is now content.
