  1. If I ever have to do a static page I just use notepad and code it by hand.
  2. I changed some stuff around. It looks a bit messy now but I organized it in a way that I think would best suit a big article. I did that because I hope we'll all put a lot of input into it! I'm a wikiholic, I can't get off wikipedia, and I think it's only fair that alpine snowboarders have a large extensive article. I didn't change any of your origional text but I did add some very basic text to get any new sub sections I added started. Some of you guys with more knowledge than me (that should be most if not all of you) should edit and add to it.
  3. I added a 'main article' link to the alpine article on the general snowboarding page. I also put a link to BOL on the article.
  4. Outward cant? Sounds neat. I gotta learn to ride with inward cant first though :D.
  5. I don't like riding with tunes because a) I love the sound of the board sliding across the snow and b) I don't want to damage my mp3 player when it gets wet or smashed if I fall. Some of it's also for safty reasons. You can't really hear the sound of someone coming up behind you if they don't say anything but if they yell something I definatly want to be able to hear that.
  6. Definatly heat mold the liners! I probably don't know what I'm talking about but maybe try loosening the boots. I would tightning them down just tight enough so your heel doesn't move at all.
  7. What do you mean by bottom sheet? The base?
  8. Yeah that's shinbang. Next season it my first on hardboots but I know the feeling from skiing. A booster strap is just about the only 'cure' I can think of. So look into getting one of those if you haven't already.
  9. I just ordered a Donek FCII 163 and I didn't get the Olympic Construction. It's my first board and I can't afford a $850 board so I just got the 'standard' construction.
  10. Starting this year. I'm so excited. I'm going on my first trip of the season in early december and I can't wait to try out my new board. In fact I'm so excited I'm actually wearing my boots as I type this :D.
  11. I'm 15. I've been snowboarding since I was 10. 5 years on softies and this coming season will be my first on hardboots.
  12. Loaded's should be very snowboard like. Insects are fantastic but probably won't be as snowboardy. Also trucks and wheels should play a big role in a snowboardy feeling not just the deck.
  13. $50 is inexpensive? Though I guess it is in the world of $300+ slalom boards :D.
  14. Nice site! I like the new graphics page. Now you get a better idea of what the colors look like on boards.
  15. Videos, that's the one thing most sites have a shortage of.
  16. It looks like a softboot/hardboot hybrid. Maybe perfect for those wanting some softies for putting around but not willing to give up plates?
  17. Hey nekdut! I just came across an older post of yours that says your in West LA. I am as well, just thought I'd let you know :D.
  18. I like the new name :D. I may be able to go. I'm going up to mammoth a few times this season. I'll see if I can make one of those trips on April 7th-9th.
  19. I'm getting some scothbrite pads. I just didn't put them on the list. I'll definatly loose the riller bar and true bar and I'll get a combo brush. Also does anyone know where to get a good stonegrind either in LA or where I can mail my board?
  20. Ok so I'm getting my board real soon (ordering today) and I need to know what I need for tuning. I'm spending a lot on board and bindings so I'm looking for bare minimum to keep my board in good shape so it'll last me a while. Obviously I need wax and an iron and I've got that covered. But what else will I need. I was thinking: Universal Wax Wax Iron Wax Scraper True Bar Riller Bar (do I really need one?) Fine and/or Medium DMT stone Gummi Stone Multi Edge Tuner The big questions are do I really need a riller bar, do I really need structure if I'm not doing anything serious? And should I get a file, guide and clamp instead of the multi edge tuner? I'm not going to change any angles, just gonna use it for once a season sharpening. Is there anything you'd add or take away from this list?
  21. I'm pretty uninformed too but from what I've read the only real change is that the yellow e-ring is now softer. My guess is that the binding is the exact same but I could be wrong. If there is something different it sure doesn't look like anything major.
  22. You could go for an Incline or Wide?
  23. I found Mammoth. I'm not at home on my computer with google earth but I'll post it later tonight.
  24. Yay! Mammoth opens November 10th! So close yet so far away. Now I just need my new board.
  25. Just from a logical point of view I would think that just one day of riding would affect the camber much, much more than a whole summer of storage the "wrong way". That being said I like to baby my stuff so when I get my board I'll take the extra precaution unless of course it starts to get really inconvienient to do so.
