  1. Have fun, guys. (un)fortunately I have and keep all my gear up in Mammoth. Crazy amount of snow here now. Just give me a hollah when you are planning to be up here.
  2. Hi Darren,

Good to hear from you, man! Had a blast riding with you in June. Yes, I am bummed too that this little gem is closed now. I have no idea yet how we are going to do SNES in February. It probably is more under the radar. Confiscate a bunch of parking at Stump Alley.

yeah, I am selling the Donek. I have too many toys now. I just received my own design Skwal that another friend build for me. Its a beauty, wood+carbon. I still have a few other boards, I usually ride my Burton FP, its banged up a bit from hitting rocks, but that is normal in Mammoth.

The Donek is just too fast to ride with friends or the wife. I do 3 turns and I am down the hill. Somebody will be the next happy owner.

So what are your plans this season, coming up for the Holidays?

    Cheers,

    Rolf

  3. Hi Geoff, Thanks for the plug. It is indeed a fantastic board to ride, its a locomotive on rails. Very easy to turn and adjust radius. Awesome in pow or soft crud and even on icy slopes. Cheers, Rolf
  4. Hi guys and girlz, I am putting my dear Donek GS195 on the block. Acquired only 3 years ago, this puppy has hardly been ridden. Virtually undamaged top and bottom AND edges. She has been babied and cared for. I have too many boards that I just don't ride. Model TBrown Condition: 8.5 out of 10 Days on snow: approx. 25 No dings or nichs along topsheet edge few minor scuffs in between bindings $130 PTC Tune Base is in pristine condition Base is currently covered in wax Specs length: 195cm Waist: 19.5cm Radius: 16.5m Payment: Paypal prefered, or even local pick up w/ cash. Location of board is Mammoth lakes, CA, but can be returned to Los Angeles. For those collectors, I also have a rare Oxbow Worldcup 170 with Fin's Racedurgitten bindings (sorry thought at was the 181 still in storage), in very good shape and great and stable to ride. But I also have an old Burton Cruzer 87. Yes, the imfamous Swallowtail design.
  5. Back in Mammoth Turkey Day evening. Lets hope the snow sticks at least. Canyon and Eagle will stay closed. So it will probably be packed on the rest of the slopes. Looking forward to doing some Skwalling again.
  6. Hi guys, OK, I know KingCrimson will be there, but is anybody else going? Would be fun to carve some turns with you all. Cheers, Rolf
  7. Nah, sleeping on the floor won't be necessary, I will sleep in my King size bed, thank you. But I will be there though first thing Thursday morning. I look forward to riding the Coda Skwal. I will be easy to pick out of the crowd I am sure. See you there.
  8. I was reading through this thread again, I was just cracking up.
  9. Hi Neil, That is indeed an good question. Is it the aggressive stance that determines the difference? Perhaps so. Its a nice discussion point for the forum. I would like to call it a Skwal as this sets an expectation regarding the stance. On the other hand the name Skwal alone gets a certain attention from a more select target group, so there is a marketing aspect to that name/ term too. Virus has such a wide range and classifications of alpine/ carving boards and has an extreme good reputation and good quality. But also for them, you just have to tell someone that you have a Virus, you don't need to tell them which model, you have already set the expectation that its going to be radical, narrow and top-of-the-line. Thanks for checking out the specs. We have designed and build this board for those who have a more limited budget, but who are also looking for Build in the USA and want a board that is fun to ride under different conditions. Because of the chosen materials the finish of these boards will always be unique as nature provides us with all these different kinds of wood veneer. Cheers, Rolf
  10. Hi Ace, Thank you for the positive response! The board will be up in Mammoth, CA this winter for some rigorous testing. I am sure that the Socal posse is eager to have a go on her and post comments. SES 2013 is in the planning. Cheers, Rolf
  11. I am sure something can be worked out with the people from the Mill as well to confiscate a section of their patio as long as we buy their food and drinks, maybe do a little pre-payment to "reserve" our seats and tables. Or low budget, simply take over a strategic section of the parking lot and far end bottom corner of Stump (close to tree line)and bring our own BBQ and chairs to hang out and tan in. Its all just a matter of making some friends in the right places on the mountain, not impossible. I am sure one way or the other somebody from the mountain needs to be involved and give the OK.
  12. Yeah, it doesn't surprise me. Well, there are ways of still organizing an event "under the radar", I guess. Perhaps we can bribe the Stump Alley lifties with starting at 6am in the morning and allow us to have fresh tracks. Just an idea.
  13. Hi guys, still early in the season, but I am already hyped up. Been going to Mammoth on a regular basis this summer to enjoy some biking, kayaking and hiking. But lets get serious for a moment; June Mountain is still on all of our minds I am sure, it sucks to see this carving paradise closed down. So what does this mean for our beloved SNES event? Perhaps there is a possibility to "rent out" Fascination or a section of Stump Alley in the future? Just thoughts of course, but this would make a nice discussion and brainstorm session. Perhaps there is a way for Rusty Gregory/ CEO to appreciate the art of carving. Cheers, Rolf
  14. Hi guys, I just wanted to introduce another resource for beautiful performance driven skis and and now also Skwal. My friend Luke has been building his performance skis for race to powder using exotic wood veneer finishes and carbon composites. Depending on the expected performance, ability and weight of the rider he can build his products to order. His Skwal has been the result of his experience as a fabricator and skier and input from my end as a carver. The specs: Length 1850 mm Tip 215 mm Waist 138 mm Tail 189 mm Camber 14 mm To learn more about Norsk and Luke's products, please visit Luke's website at http://www.jekul.com/jekul.com/Wilkommen.html Norsk is located in Colorado! If you have any questions, please feel free to post! Cheers, Rolf
  15. John, That movie rocks!!! The choice of music is perfect, gets you amped! Bringing back good memories of a great event and turn-out. Definitely one for the books. This is a great add for those carvers from different states or countries even. Cheers, Rolf (BTW Pow pow is coming!!!! Mammoth this weekend anyone??)
  16. Hi all, I just wanted to thank everybody for showing up for SNES this weekend!!! All the props go to Neil and the June crew for making this day happen, again. It was a pleasure seeing you all again and getting to know some new people. Big-D, it was a pleasure carving it up with you i the morning hours. Chad, thank you for giving me the opportunity to kill myself on the Skwall. My butt and thigh muscles are still sore from dealing with the G-forces whilst standing in very awkward position, at first. I think I really nailed the technique in the end. Your boards are tha bomb. Hope to see ya soon and carve it up. I will baby "the loaner" in the meantime. I am sorry that I did not come on Sunday. Bev and I had guests staying with us, so my arm got twisted to spend some time with them. I did not make a lot of pics, but I am hyped to see what all you got. Will be up in mammoth and June this weekend. Looking forward to go ride with any of you.
  17. Good morning all! Woke up this morning and looked outside; we had some dusting overnight here in Mammoth. So nice. Curious to see the quality of the run tomorrow in June. Should be good. Lets hope for cold temps and a tiny bit of sun shine for our event.
  18. Lets pray for good weather, we have to please the weather God(s) or Mother Nature in any which way we can. Oh yes, ANY way. See you all at June. Remember 8.15 for the gear cart ride up. Bev already drove up with the boom box and gear. I am in Colorado as we speak, unfortunately for bizz.
  19. Count me in! Shall I bring the boom box again for some tunes? Will bring the Oxbow Worldcup 171, Burton FP, Bev's Burton Alp 156, and the biggest and baddest of them all, my tiny Donek GS195. Thanks again for setting this up!!! I was already getting bummed for not going to Mammoth this week with the storm coming and all, but this makes it all good! I agree with the food, lets support the local tavern. We'll just muscle some peeps out of some good tables for us all. Cheers, Rolf
  20. Lets coordinate Sunday morning, meet at Stump.
  21. Yup, its still dumping and my wife can't stop giving me s$%t for it that we didn't go this last weekend. So who is going this coming weekend. We are going to have multi-grip in the turns now.
  22. I see you guys had a good time. Next time, I guess. Too bad that June isn't happening for now. SNES would be fun again too.
  23. Received my copy yesterday. Great articles, cool pics and good energy/ vibe. Can't wait for the next one.
  24. I hear ya. I was up on July 4th too. Pretty cool.
