  1. Yeah, I will be there for the weekend of the 18th as well. Actually I will be in Mammoth the entire week. Just hollah when you are up there.
  2. Who's going? I don't have high expectations, but I look forward to some first turns of the season with the Miss'. Cheers
  3. Hi guys, Cleaning up my collection of old skool boards. Its my very first snowboard, bought new in Austria in 1988. These puppies where build there at that time. Will upload a pic asap, but wanted to put the word out already. Board is in good shape, besides a few small scratch fixes on the bottom. Top laminate undamaged. Great wall hanger or old skool powder and posing days. It comes with the original bindings, unfortunately these got crushed under a bag of climbing gear. For showing its fine, but unsafe to ride with. Could be used for some spare parts as the straps are still in great shape. Just make me a reasonable offer. BTW local pick up in Chatsworth or Mammoth, CA only. Shipping is not worth it. Cheers
  4. Thanks for referral of Summit. I usually do my own tuning, my carve boards are babied, so rarely busted up by rocks. My all-mountain ride, well, that is a different story. :D
  5. Yeah baby!! I will take my Donek to the beauty parlor and get it nicely waxed in all the right places. Canyon Lodge pic
  6. Feel the itch!! No, I do not mean between the legs, you perv. Looking forward to carving with you all this season. Gotta place in Mammoth now, next to Canyon. This season will be even more epic. Party on!!
  7. I am already in Mammoth. Tons of pow and sunshine today!!!!! Looking forward to tomorrow. Will bring my entire collection which includes the pow board which I will be riding today. Soft boots though, Gonna run through the trees. Later, Rolf
  8. Hi guys, Sorry my car is full with wife , brother, dog and a butt load of equipment. I will be bringing: The famous and scary Donek GS195 Burton FP173 Oxbow World Cup 171 Chad- Will you be bringing some demo stuff again? My brother would like to try to monoboard a few runs. And I would love to carve a few turns on "Sharky" or Volvo's "Hammerhead" before Luca gets a hold of it again. We will only join for one day though, I have many things planned for my brother visiting only for a week from Europe. So we will drive back in the afternoon. I can leave some boards behind and the radio behind. I am sure Andrea can drop them off after you guys are done playing. If any of you guys want to join early, we will be skiing Mammoth on Friday already. Cheers, Rolf
  9. Hi Neil, Thanks for checking in again. It is getting closer. Mammoth got pounded with snow this weekend so I am sure June is guaranteed to have a nice fresh layer of freshies as well. Road call?
  10. Theft:confused: Where did that come from?? Not worried about that at all. We will have access to our "private" locker at the bottom of Gunsmoke, I am sure/ hope.
  11. Hi guys, Deer Bowl is a very nice fast run and it does up the exposure. Then again, it is a very "mainstream" run right next to J7. Might be a bit challenging to get permission from management to close that off just for us G-turn freaks. That is why I was thinking of Matterhorn also. We can indeed monopolize the slalom run for a few hours for bragging rights. But if the processional freestylers are going to get access to Gunsmoke, this might give us an opportunity to "share" some facilities if we can get Bodie or Lottie Johl. I liked the BBQ last year at Slim's. OK, not a lot of choice but especially with nice weather the coolest place to be, also for some group shots. Keep the thread alive!! Chad- Did you find my business card last week on your car at stump?
  12. Scary Gary, Glad you are still alive. We are all hoping to ride with you asap. Think you might still be able to come to SNES 2011? If you can't ride you can still man the cooler with beer! Keep us posted!
  13. There is plenty of other runs out there we should be able to hi-jack: Bodie (I like this one better than Gunsmoke because of the pitch and length), Lottie or even Matterhorn (various pitch and fast, fun for my Donek195). Either way I hope that management is granting us a run to play on. Let me know how we should petition for one. Or beat the poop out of the freestylers. Cheers
  14. Hi guys, I didn't see the old thread anymore, so let's start a new one. Are we still on for March 26th and 27th at June? Got the batteries for the boom-box ready!! Greetz, Rolf
  15. Good to hear from you, Gary. Get well soon. I will be up this coming weekend with Bev. Will most likely ride the powder board though. You got my number in case you are still there and want to get together for a beer. Cheers, Rolf
  16. Hi guys, Had fun with Neil, Andrea and Julian in Mammoth 2 weekends ago. I won't be going up to Mammoth or June until January. Family things and toys to take care off. Have fun! Rolf
  17. Nekdut- CarvingChef has my number. So just txt him and we will all meet-up somewhere on the mountain. I will have my first turns in on Friday! :p Lets hope for freshies in the trees or corduroy on Stump in the early mornings. Zeta- Coming too?
  18. Sjees, Mammoth and June are getting dumped on!!! Bring your powder boards too!!! We are going to be hugging the trees!!!:D
  19. Hi all, lets hope the snow gods will be kind to us. Looks like we will get some freshies just before Thanksgiving. Winterizing my ride as we speak. My arsenal of boards is ready! Andrea- bev and I hope to see you on Saturday then. Lets keep in touch by phone. We will be driving up Thursday nite, pick up our passes on Friday morning and do some first turns, scary.
  20. The title says it all. Bev and I got a small place in Mammoth for Thanksgiving weekend. Who else is up there? BTW This might be the first time for Bev to actually stand on a board and carve thanks to our dear CarvingChef.
  21. The sad part is that the majority of the "freestylers" suck! But I can't blame Mt. High for doing it, its all about the money. All these local resorts are getting overcrowded. My favorites are still Baldy, Waterman, and Summit on a blue Monday. Baldy and Waterman are not really that carve-able, but are fun when it dumps and ride your retired phat powder board. Little hidden gems and cheap too. Mammoth's ticket pricing is over the top with $92 for adults. Luckily I got a season pass which also covers June. Skiing and snowboarding are becoming "exclusive" sports again. Mt. High is just catering to a "less wealthy" demographic which cannot afford expensive Mammoth weekend trips. Nothing wrong with that. Mammoth is busy enough as is. Remember those days that you could blast all the way down Dave's Run to Canyon Lodge without some scared, parent skiers yelling at you for going too fast, whether you have better control of your board then they can ski. Hate that.
  22. Tomorrow, hah? Lets see if the Miss is cool with that? My house is getting appraised this week, so I have some stuff to do. My 911 also needs some lovin. So many things, so little time.
  23. Hi guys, thank you so much for the great responses!!! You rock. I got a "loaner" Alp from CarvingChef. Hopefully I can score some 3d disc bindings from someone.:D Cheers
