  1. bump and shipping included to west coast US....
  2. Anybody hear of any discounts for local hills? I think Ralph's had $45 tix for Mtn High last season, but I haven't heard of any for Summit, Bear, or Mt. Baldy.
  3. I'm in for the UPZ size 10 liners, email sent... Joe
  4. Do not rush it. My torn MCL kept me off snow for 4 seasons. I would not recommend 2400mg ibu to anybody. There is not a linear dose / pain relief scale. 2400mg daily does not give 2x as much relief as 1200mg, but you will get a higher incidence of side effects. read this: http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/medicalnews.php?newsid=33052 Exerpt: " However, our study shows that healthy, young people and older people are at great risk of internal bleeding and should speak with their doctor to determine the risks of taking large amounts of ibuprofen." ... "Bleeding was found to begin as early as three days after the start of the treatment and generally lasted the entire duration of the study in most subjects. According to study authors and previous studies, although the ibuprofen dose was higher than the recommended over-the-counter amount, blood loss, anemia and other adverse events can be observed at any dose of ibuprofen." Best of luck and speed in healing.
  5. I had my Intuitions done by a dealer with Intuition-labeled neoprene toecaps and black nylons over my thick riding socks. Sat until they cooled off (~ 30 min) - felt great when done. (the process was painful, tho) A few days later put them on, both had shrunk. The left shrunk by a full size (27.5 down to 26.5) the right by 0.5 cm. The foam feels stiff, like it has no 'give' at all. I could tell the left was unridable, so I put a shoe stretcher in there, with just enough tension to lightly push the toe away from the heel. I'll see how it does. I don't want to re-mold them yet. Pissed me off tho, because I did everything possible to ensure a good fitting. I think the foam, although dense, is pretty temp sensitive. And whatever adhesive holds the nylon cover / liner to the foam itself prolly had no stretch either.
  6. Post your boot size, so you can see what's out there... When it comes to boots, one rider's trash is another's treasure - you might be surprised what lurks around.
  7. Anon Subrosa goggles SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD black frames, vented double lens, gold mirror. Helmet compatible. Worn 1 day, too big for me (no scratches) Includes soft cleaner bag. Retailed for $59.95.

    Surf's Up!

Popout boards blow in comparison to a quality hand shape. The details of the shape notwithstanding, they suck because the flex is ****ty. PU boards have a feel to them that is impossible to duplicate with other materials. EPS epoxy's pretty nice too, but higher prices, and they can get a little chattery in DOH surf. I can't imagine why you would want a popout, when you could go over fine details with a shaper and have it how you like it. And it's kinda nuts right now if you go in a surf shop b/c prices tags went up after Grubby Clark's exit, and everybody freaked out over availability of blanks. Now Walker Foam and Just Foam are blowing up in terms of orders, prices have stabilized, but in the shops the prices have not dropped. call your favorite shaper, and get a board you love for the same price as one off the rack.
  11. Ok, one more time... if anybody needs a Burton 4x4 disc for use with cant plate (ie holes are offset) let me know - I have two more to go to good homes.
  12. Was there any difference in weight that you could tell?
  13. To this day, I have no idea. Would love to know. I've never seen anybody completely buttonhole (and ride out of it) since then. Seen some close tries...
  14. I was already a snowboarder in ‘90, having learned the hard way at Tahoe resorts on a Avalanche 167 (self-taught, with absolutely no clue) but could now skid turns pretty well. Had a pair of trusted friends who were Summit Co. snowboard shop owners who had me set up in Kastinger lace-up mountaineering boots (because they were so much stiffer than Sorels) in soft bindings. Imagine arriving from San Diego in the worst blizzard. I make it onto the bus from Denver to Breck, which finally pulled into a diner in Silverthorne, I think, and driver announces we can't go any further due to the storm. We're going to stay in the bus all night until daylight, and then continue after the road gets plowed. Off to a pay phone, to tell my bro's the situation and that I'll be there in the AM. They say "no worries' we'll come getcha" Aw, thanks guys, but they're telling us , roads closed, not passable, etc. My friends snicker and say "yeah, ok see ya in 30 min". Sure enough, a while later they pull up behind the bus. "How'd you get here with the road closed?" I said, still a little surprised. "Dude, we live here. We know the back way" The bus driver had already opened the luggage compartment to let people get toiletries and personal items. I grabbed my backpack and boardbag, and he say's "where do ya think you're` going? -ya can't leave the bus" "Yeah, well my ride is here - just check my name off the list" "I can't just do that" he yells. "See ya" I said. By now a crowd of people who were getting stuff out are all jaws agape to see us pull off into a whirl of snowflakes. These guys had it dialed from start to finish, and they were going to show me how to ride the best Summit. Next day, I was on a chair lift at Breck, and saw somebody coming down beneath the chair snaking these crazy laid over turns. I knew he had to be somebody, because there were people set up with camera's on the run on tripods, and a rider with a camera coming after him. A lot of Burton logo's on their gear and jackets. And at a place on the run where it opened up to a flat spot, he laid out a carved 360 without a sound, and rode up out of it, and kept on going. That's a ‘Buttonhole' somebody said. "How do you..." I stammered "you need hardboots and different bindings - and 10 years of practice" After that trip, I bought hardboots.
  15. Looks like Carrier bindings intact, yet you broke the board, you must be the Jedi-Master of Finesse...well done!
  16. Welllll, let's see the damage! I think someone should start a thread "post pics of your broken board" I'm always interested to see how they fold.
  17. Check out my Phiokka plates: http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?t=10943 Baseplate is slightly smaller than Burton Race Plates.

    New Shoes

And if I wanted to Google search for them, what are they called?

    New Shoes

I wonder if you could surf in those things - how much do they stay 'stuck' on your feet? There are some pretty ragged reefs I've surfed in Mexico, where if you kicked the bottom, or even walking out to jump off to paddle, you would have a nasty laceration. But booties are a pain in the ass to surf with b/c the tend to fill up with water and feel like a pair of water balloons attached to your feet.
  20. Ok, I think Bob wins - we have nothing (that I can think of) in the state that sucks as bad as that last picture. I actually feel bad for you guys - I thought we were having a semi-shi##y winter with the dry start and rain, but it really doesn't matter what kind of winter that place has... Can you even imagine claiming to you friends the 'sick pow drops' you had there?
  21. post some pictures already! Where are you in L.A anyway? I thought d b, gdboytyler, & me were the only 3 hardbooters south of the Santa Barbara...
  22. I have a set of stock Raichle liners, mondo 27.0 in good condition, if anybody is looking for liners - they have the liner strap at the top also. If someone's interested, I'll post a pic.
  23. db is out, and they're still on the market...
  24. well why didn't Burton include a pair of non-offset so you can ride without the cant plate, instead of one of each? Besides, I don't even know who rents Burton gear down here, nevermind finding "the box" under the counter... I was just trying to pass the goodwill along. But thanks for the help.
  25. I've got one for ya, if you still need it...send me an e-mail. JD
