  1. Doesn't correlate with me: right-foot-lead moto, and regular rider. <img src="http://i40.tinypic.com/29bhu2w.jpg" border="0" alt="OK with Old School soft-boot carving"> Maybe I'm secretly goofy?

In case you haven't yet seen the nominated rides: http://xxl12.billabong.com/wipeout_nominees The other categories are worth a look as well.

  4. I wish. Footage is from Vail Resorts. As consolation I was cycling in the high country, dodging snow in the shady bits, on the day it was shot. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/S4Oio8ScjdU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> 52 days until opening day!

  8. More info here:http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=15090 Most HB riders I know do not sit on the snow. While there will defingitely be times you are on the snow while learning, some of the tips here will help you to stay upright.
  9. I don't mean to poach, but if you have any extra aluminum bases for the Burton raceplate (after helping homebrewed) I'm searching as well. Not looking for free (tho' that'd be great). Happy to pay for parts in good working order. Thanks!
  10. Got a bunch of Burton parts and might be able to help, but I'm unclear as to what broke. Did the metal plate under the plastic baseplate break? Or is it the plastic baseplate?

  12. In addition to the listings on the BOL classifieds, you can often find smokin' deals on good beginner carving equipment using the hardbooter.com EBay search for carving gear. Crazedlist is a good way to quickly search CL for carving gear (using FireFox, not IE).

    Bevel

If you start with a 90 degree edge and bevel the base 1 degree the resulting angle is 91 degrees. Beveling the side edge 2 degrees results in an edge of 89 degrees.

    Bevel

My math is a bit rusty, but doesn't 1 degree base bevel and 2 degree side bevel result in an angle of 89 degrees?
