  1. What a great championship!!! Mr. RaceBoarder7 placed 6th in GS, 4th! in Dual SL, and 5th in the combined Men's All-State Team!! Great job!!:o<O:p</O:p My girl, racerXchika, placed 2nd in GS, 3rd in Dual SL, and 2nd in the combined Women's All-State Team!!!! YAHOOOO!!<O:p</O:p Our schools from the very north end of the state were a solid force to be reckoned with: 1st and 2nd place Women's teams were from way up north (Mount Shasta High - Mount Shasta and High School - <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comShasta</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st=" /><st1:City w:st="on">Redding</st1:City>) with <ST1:pNorth Tahoe</ST1:p placing 3rd. For the Men, 2nd and 3rd places were from the superior section of the state also (Mount Shasta and Yreka), and <st1:City w:st="on"><ST1:pEl Dorado </ST1:p</st1:City>(East of Sacramento in the Sierra Foothills) railed their way into a solid 1st place. 7 of the top 10 Men's teams were schools all north of <st1:City w:st="on"><ST1:pSacramento</ST1:p</st1:City>!! The Tahoe basin, Sierra foothills, Mammoth, and Rim of the World (Lake Arrowhead/San Bernardino County) made up the remaining top 10 Women's team positions.<O:p</O:p The racers, their parents, coaches and all others involved were an absolutely AWESOME, TOP-NOTCH bunch of people!<O:p</O:p <ST1:p<st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Mount Shasta</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Ski</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Park</st1:PlaceType></ST1:p pulled out all the stops in making this event welcome and well accommodated, and Mother Nature was mostly on our side.<O:p</O:p Congratulations to all of these fine student athletes!! :biggthump <O:p</O:p Which makes me wonder; do any other states/regions have an organized and sanctioned High School Ski and/or snowboard program? Wouldn't it be great if there were more and there was a national championship for these kids?? Toss any thoughts in if you like....<O:p</O:p Next time you find yourself alone in your hardboots, come to <ST1:pMount Shasta</ST1:p and you'll have more company on any given day than you ever though possible!!<O:p</O:p
  2. I have a set of the plastic carriage X-Bones that I will sell for parts. Everything is in excellent condition except for the carriages which have stress cracks. E-mail me for a price, or call five-thirty, three, fifty-six, sixty-four, thirty.
  3. Thanks for the links - awesome video for any of us to enjoy and learn from!!
  4. see thread: http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?t=14687
  5. I always used to wear glasses unless it was snowing. Now I have a pair of Uvex Melanin polarized series: These have awesome optics and are very comfortable. They work well under the helmet and are very durable. I recently followed Pat Donnelly's thread http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?t=11950&highlight=bro+deal and bought a pair of the Haber Prima goggles. The price was right and they are AWESOME! Great optics, fit and asthetics. If you have a smaller bean consider the other model as these are a bit wide. My only gripe is that in early morning shade and some other flat lights, the contrast isn't as good as I would like. This season I have worn goggles almost exclusively and am enjoying it!
  6. Have used them now a few times - what an awesome set of goggles!! Excellent optics and a great fit. I highly recommend these if you're looking for new gogs.
  7. All I can say is that I have IMMENSE respect for you EastCoasters and the hardpack you ride on. Period..... p.s. I love softpac!! :):)
  8. I'm 5'11", 230lbs. and I love my FCII 179 - would not go shorter if I were to do it over again. Strongly suggest you go 179ish. Regards!
  9. Just received my Prima's yesterday (my Christmas present from my daughter that I finally got around to ordering:rolleyes: ). Very nice product. Haven't seen daylight in them yet but will report when I do. Only downside is that even though I have a fairly large bean, they seem a bit loose on the outsides where the straps connect. Don't think I'll send them back as the foam still touches everywhere. Pat, thanks for the hookup!! edit: p.s. Must mention that I had to call Cust. Serv. to place the order (no fault of Habervision or their website), and they were excellent - very helpful and friendly!
  10. I certainly agree that SB is any thing but the great coffee it claims - far from. But you know, you're out w/ the fam and the small town only has a few choices and that's where they want to go:freak3: . So I was there the other day and for laughs ordered the short cap. No qualms from the barista and she even called it out loud and clear. It was better than the latte, but far from good. Funny thing was - we're such Americans - my daughter and her boyfriend just couldn't stop ribbing me for my "non-manly" cup!! I held it with pride and dreamed I was in Italy having a real coffee.
  11. In the meantime (trikerdad will probably attest to this), have that ankle looked at. Get a specialist and tell him you want to be sure you don't have "snowboarder's fracture" aka fracture of the talar process - not fun - I sat out last year due to a misdiagnosis, trikerdad was diagnosed correctly and is riding again without so much down-time. Just a thought.
  12. looking for pair of thermos size mondo 29 with a bake or 2 left. Thanks
  13. again, refer to previous thread: http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?t=10464&highlight=crayon+hot+wax trailertrash & wavechaser: Rays Way sounds interesting - any details on how, what etc. e.g. is it standard wax with a unique application method, or? regardless, waxing can be therapeutic!! invite friends, open a merlot, crank the floor heater and enjoy!
  14. Wax on,.........wax off Wax on,.........wax off repeat repeat Wax is the life blood of your base. If you want a quick hot wax, try the crayon method (search for previous posts) e.g. http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?t=10464&highlight=crayon+hot+wax (this only really works well once the base has a good saturation as trikerdad suggested). Take your stick wax and rub it on the board fairly heavily, then hit it w/ the iron. Only a little bit of scraping/waste. Also a great method for hotel rooms ah Daniel-Son:D
  15. I like the "artification" factor. Kind of helps focus on the acutal technique vs. all the surroundings, etc. Seems to me a nice blend of norm and euro w/ more norm toward the end of the flick (esp. toe side). I especially like the "3-point" hat .... ahh memories........ and towards the end I dig the 2 skiers gawking at you - priceless. Props!!
  16. Show us what you've done mr. T. McGuiver is a hero, and my alter-ego :)
  17. I've got a retired set of X-bones due to the plastic undercarriage cracking. All the hard (i.e. metal) hardware is good and solid. Drop me a line with an offer.
  18. USST ROCKS!! US Media SUCKS!! Support these athletes whenever you can!! www.ussa.org and http://shop.usskiteam.com/store/home.php or http://www.ussnowboarding.org/public/
  19. You sick, sick patient of the Betty Ford Caveaholic Treatment Center!! Best I can do is: most current pic I have, so subtract the Nordica Beasts and add a yellow w/ black RennTiger SL 153. And I'm kind of cheating, because son rides the Skinny and daughter rides Burton, Oxygen and RT 153. In the meantime I'm still waiting for snow here in Superior California :( p.s. Oh, yah! add TD2 SI's to the Donek and TD1 SI's to the grey RT, and TD1's to the Skinny. 2 pair of Burton plates outfit the Burton/Oxygen/RT 153's!!
  20. hey paul, welcome to BOL.....................finally!!!!
  21. geez, i knew exactly what C2C was pulling that from - no google necessary. i just love all those birthdays
  22. Funny how skiing is imitating snowboarding these days. I really like the fact that each dicipline is gleaning methods from the other - continually pushing envelopes. tech ?'s: I don't see massive risers, so I can assume that boot-out is avoided by the massive arse-over-tail technique? They seem to be on shorter than norm shaped skis - do you think a bit longer ski would be better or worse (given the fact that the arc is created from the heel of the boot to the tail)
  23. you and me both!! now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about!!
  24. muy bueno! Gotta keep laughing til the snow falls here in NorCal1;)
