I grew up 50mi. north of June and logged 20-30 days/season when I was in grade/high school, and taught there for 1 season - My favorite mtn. for many reasons. Great variety of terrain, awesome glades, great off-piste and groom, and a small town feel, and no doubt that since I've spent a lot of days there, it feels like home.. About 15 years ago, Chair 4 is where I saw 'Adult' hardbooters in action for the first time (as opposed to the high school racers that I was coaching - we were there for a fun day before the NCISSF Championships at Mammoth) - I watched from the chair as 3 guys were tipping to their sides and laying fat trenches from one side of the run to the other below me (Bodie actually Lottie Johl or Gunsmoke). AND THEY WERE HAVING A BLAST!! I was bitten hard and have been hopelessly hooked since then for sure - Many thanks to Bomber, the Bomber community and to the Tahoe Carvers for assisting in the quench for my need to trench! So, regarding The June Carver Classic - I live up by Mt. Shasta now, so don't know if I could make it, but would sure like to know when it is and to follow that scene a bit more - hook me up w/ info if you can, please. Stoked for the event at Kirkwood also!! (happens to be my favorite Tahoe resort!) :-)

Hi Jack, so are you using Ooma? What is/are it's advantages? (now that I checked their website, it looks pretty awesome so I'll modify my question: any downsides that you are aware of??)

Greetings! We may finally be upgrading from a slow DSL to a much quicker wireless broadband at the house and would FINALLY be able to dump the landline service which rakes me over the coals every month for service that pretty much amounts to nothing. So, was wondering if any of you have any experience with VOIP and could give me some feedback on whether or not the service is quality (sound/delay etc) and which provider(s) are better, and anything else that might be helpful?? Thanks for your input! Sandman (p.s. - I'm up in Superior California if that makes any difference on input regarding providers, etc.)

Just signed it and sent it to 4 others. Just needs to happen. Period. Crazy how popular it is in Europe, but the ugly step-child here. Think Soccer 10-20 years ago. I just really hope this passes, and the US can embrace (and support) this wonderful sport. Carve it.

An absolute shame. I haven't been on BOL for quite some time & just happened to step in today... what a bummer for the carving community. I never had the pleasure to meet Doug in person, however I spoke to him several times on the phone and purchased several boards from him for my self and my student athletes/racers. Doug was always gracious in giving whatever info he could and helping in any way possible. We have lost a true steward to our sport, and an exceptional human. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. Peace be with you Doug. Hey Mike, Sorry to hear about your knee, you know that I know how bad it sucks!! (friggin birthdays catchin' up w/ us!!) Hope you get back to kicking full strength soon. My leg is getting much better, I'm now getting so I can walk without a cane a little bit. Went to Copper Mtn., CO w/ wife, daughter & her boyfriend a few weeks back. The kids had a great time on the slopes, and the wife had a great time together enjoying the beautiful weather, sights, sundecks and bars! Already looking forward to next season, and OES 2010!! Get better!!

Hit a little side bump that I always hit and as soon as I hit it, I knew I was going down bad. Stuck the shovel, and did some kind of twisty-flippy grind & SNAP! Really freaky cause I pretty much new it was going to break even before I heard the snap. Wiggled when I should have waggled.

Yup, not quite the titanal plate I was looking for: Doing ok, hurts like crazy yesterday & today, swollen, no weight on it for 4 weeks. Ar(angel was awesome - a true friend. Dunno what I'm gonna do w/ 8 tickets to Mt. Bachelor and another 4 for Coppper Mt. CO in March..... aaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh

Awesome! There wasn't quite enough snow there when we visited, but both that open and the one to far,far, far riders left both looked like fun.

-> 8 lift tickets for wife and self - $ REASONABLE!! -> 5 nites lodging in Bend - $ NOT TOO BAD! -> new brakes and antifreeze for the 'Burb - $ WAY TOO #$%& MUCH!! -> 4 days at Bachelor with a bunch of Crazy Hardbooters - $ PRICELESS!!! I'm SOOOOOOO THERE!!!!

Visited my daughter in Pocatello last week - wife & I had the opportunity to spend a day @ Pomerelle. A very small area, very homey, BUT WOW!! What a hidden gem of cruizers perfect for carving! Well groomed, VERY small crowd, what a nice little hill. There's even cord in the parking lot!! YeeHawwww!

Rode Sunday, spent the am w/ the high school team, then free rode from about 11 to 2. Actually had a really good time, and cashed in on the hero snow from about 12-2pm on Marmot. Considering how much snow Shasta DOESN'T have, it wasn't too bad. Not icy, not overly sloppy. Uncrowded so you didn't have to dodge people and rocks, just rocks. All considered it was a good day, but won't go back till next storm. (how long do you think they'll stay open at this rate?). Was fortunate enough to make it to Kirkwood today - had an epic day! Blue bird day, nice (really nice) groom, rode with my son, and met up w/ about 7 hardbooters from the TahoeCarvers clan. Great bunch of people, it was nice to put names with faces. Just makes me realize that what our little hill lacks in quality grooming isn't made up for by it's lack of quality grooming. Oh well, close & cheap. Just need some white stuff.
