1. For to go clear, the brand Swoard is not a lazy copy of Wild Duck Knifer! I think left of the red dot we can read on that WD Knifer ltd 161: shape & concept by Jacques Rilliet Swoard and Wild Duck Knifer are genuine brands, in this case covering identical shapers! Even Wild Duck still exists. But they switched over to make now skis only. The new ski brand from Wild Duck SA is Movement ( movementskis.com ), well known and liked for freeskiing and mountaineering skiing. Even there can be no improvements, because the ones which copy, are mostly not able to comprehend the orginal constructions. Market in Western hemisphere is totaly free. Everyone can build better boards. As I wrote above anyone is welcome to make his own shapes. I mean it's realy easy to get some carbon, Kevlarâ„¢ or similar and mixed fibres and Titanal sheets in Western hemisphere. Myself I can buy/go for such things on stores in a small quantity as a privat person in less than a half hour. So what happens about "copy with some improvement" since more than one decade? 2002 SLC Olympics world saw first time a Kessler winning gold medall on GS run. Everyone thought that Kessler must be a hoax. 2006 Torino Olympics all PGS gold medals gone again to Kessler riders. Someone have been shocked after that. 2010 Vancouver Olympics all PGS gold medals for Kessler like as usual. 2014 Sochi Olympics, same game like ever, but doubling from 2 gold medals to 4 gold medals. Well, there have been left 12 Years to make boards better and faster. Even on Sochi Olympics other brands had a new chance to go for gold too. IOC was doubling the podiums. What a great potentiality to other brands to reach for gold too. What happens again? Like I wrote above, since Vancouver Olympics countless brands did or tried to copy the KST idea only. They had been totaly free for building better boards, but they are just not able to invent. So they stand back on the poor copy-paste league. Alexey You know, inventions and improvements don't come from asking for posting here name & FIS code! There are benfits wich you are not able to get and feel on snow buying a copy.
2. Sochi podium gear overview / 12x (PGS & PSL / W & M) Boards: Kessler: (all gold medals) 6 SG: 3 Oxess: 2 Black-Pearl: 1 Plates: Allflex: (3x gold) 6 Vist: 2 SG: 2 K-plate: (1x gold) 1 homebrew: 1 Bindings: F2-Titanium: 9 F2-CNC: 1 ACT-Gear: 1 homebrew: 1 Boots: Northwave .950: (2x gold) 7 Deeluxe: (Track 700, 325, Free69 / gold) 3 Dalbello Krypton: (gold) 1 UPZ RC10: (bronze) 1 So UPZ's seems to be very exotic snowboard hardboots!
3. ride faster - ride smoother - ride effortless - ride KESSLER (even if now on Kessler The Cross Light on picture / not on The Alpine) Kessler the Alpine didn't give You the same ride like F2 Silberpfeil. It's different! Assign the length to the recommend weight, body length and riding preferences! Plate is not a must. Try it out at first without a plate. Ask Kessler and Bomber for compatibility of Kessler 156, maybe 162 to TD3 bindings, or ask for recommended bindings. You ride Intec's or bails with lever?
4. Wow, OES ? Just some more 1:1 outline copies of Kessler The Alpine boards and Swoard Extremecarvers? The big invention is now adding inserts for mounting plates on Swoard copies. Some days ago we had Olympic games. Did we saw any copy-paste snowboards on top there. Just NO, we just saw only genuine boards. Kessler won again every gold medal on gate courses. Pumpkin, which offer also raceboards, won on halfpipe. There is Kessler, there is Pumpkin, there is Swoard. All are genuine brands. They didn't invest over $2M for copy any other boards. They just make what they are able to do, on a thin budget. They just shape and build genuine snowboards for function and fun on snow. Alpine board marked is now on poor developments. Bevore the Years 2000-2002 we had so many brands which offers exciting boards for extreme carving, hard carving, super carving ... . They have been labeld as/for EC, extrem carver, supercarver and so on too. Every brand defined it by a own shape, different sidecut, different width, different flex pattern ... . After ISF was bankrupt, raceboard market is broken in rapid and Extremecarvers / Swoard seems to be born then. And because of less and less brands had any good idea to invent new good shapes, since then only copy-pasters are on progress now. Take Swoard as an example. How many board makers try to copy the Swoard idea? It's unbelievable! Take now Kessler and how many board makers try to copy the KST idea? It's unbelievable too. For every new board concept the mother of success remains on riding skill. Many of genuine board makers are high level snowboarding instructors too. Copy-pasters will never be able to invent good boards, just because of poor riding skill. So we will see than also poor quality on shape and manufactoring. We saw on OES boards here on thread a rip-out insert section. Thanks for sharing this. I never ever saw before such things, even not from Chineese Made cheap nameless boards out from supermarket stores. Genuine board makers don't define edge hold of the boards by -4° edge bevel. They define edge hold by the shape. So edge hold on ice starts at 0° (for general snowboarding -1° and -0.5° on base side are recommendable) and ends at -3° for very aggressive ski slalom racing, tight slalom snowboard courses. Anything more than -1° remains in the hand of end-users to tune it. Maybe different volks need different shapes and boards on different mountains. Thats o.k. So they are welcome to make their own shapes for their demands and they should stop copy or make bad copies of any genuine brands.
5. and IOC!Maybe You are right. Like on the 2010 Olympics in Canada, Sochi 2014 was one more big desaster again for snowboarders. Rain in Vancouver, rain and tricky slow-speed and slushy slopes in Russia too. Same on PAR Worldcup 2013/2014 also. Yes there is FIS. And FIS is the dictatorship over Olmpic snowboarders like them on Alpine boards and slopestile and halfpipe and snowboardcross too. They have the power to assign the snowboarders where they have to ride. But FIS and IOC don't realy know what snowboarding is. They are never able to know it. They will never be able to know it. Snowboarders like to ride on powdersnow very much and not all the time in slush. Why not shift all activities to the top of Rosa Khutor Ski Resort, just 3000ft higher and anything was been allright. Even on halfpipe-show 3'800ft, did you saw how many rider crashed in the flat because of tricky slushy conditions. Hey, these guys and girls are not bloody snowboarding beginners, they are the World very best Pro's! On the Alp's all the good halfpipes and Superpipes are on 7'500ft, on 11'000ft and sometimes higher. There can be found slush for sure. But then it's mid of April, maybe June and not mid of February! So snow will have a perfect hard consistence and for the shape it doesn't matter if wall is on the sunny side or not. There are not tons of salt on slope/flat, just for to keep snow harder. The guys and girls want to pump up speed without any full auto speed-checks from salty snow. Again, why snowboarding was overtaken by FIS. Luge and Bob sports are independet, even Biathlon which use skis too. They have an independent, ready to their sports, federation. Biathlon isn't FIS! Why Snowboarding? And FIS is proceeding ahead: Like on Sochy Olympics, FIS will hold next World-Championships joining Freeskiing and Snowboarding on the same city, on same halfpipe and BoarderX and Slopestyle course. What do You think, what kind of snow we will find then from 3'250ft down to 2'850ft? Powdersnow or slushy man-made snow every where? As dicused here, we have lack of funding, I mean lack of funding not only for Alpine snowboarding, but lack of funding of snowboarding in general. Say me is it normal, if snowboarders winning Olympic bronze medals had to end their career in springtime, because of lack of funding and missing sponsors? Why riders, like two time Olympic Gold and Silver medalist Schoch Bros. had to work on construction area all the summertime the last Years. After 5 full days a week on a digger, they had to switch to the Gym every evening. Even on that downsized wintersport like snowboarding and alpine snowboarding we can see some very courious rider founding systems in some countrys. Take a look to the women PSL Podium. On PSL podium from Sochy Olympics we can find a female soldier on top and two police women with silver and bronce medal beside. As usual in Austria and Germany, we will find a lot of riders (men too), which are non working "officials". Like full Sochi PSL women podium, they are sponsored and carried 100% by Uncle Sam. Just ask now some 13 Years young teenagers how cool it is, to see soldier and police volks on top of his dream sport! Justin Reiter should maybe switch from the back of his Tundra to become a National Park Ranger, sponsored by Uncle Sam too.
6. Korea? Korea will be just an other story! Many good riders will retire now from stadium after that Sochi Putin 22.Olympic games. There will be a change, probably a big change the next Years. FIS is still waiting for sponsors, winners-fee are less now then ever before. Races on basic level, open for everyone, runs now at one category only here in Europe. Because of missing racers, we can no more find different categories like one for children, the Youth and the men. One to two dozends of upcomming riders on the base are too less for to have later good riders on high level snowboarding races. So there is still a massiv decreasing comming out from classic wintersport nations, which help to decrease general riding skill on worldcup races too. Isn't that right? Take attention again to [thread=41567]this tread here[/thread] and the things here "WSJ article on lack of funding for US Alpine" on thread which was opened by FTA2R. The United States represents the largest ski market on the World (snowboarding included). That means 20-time bigger than Russian ski market. But the USA isn't capable to found a good team on wintersports like alpine snowboarding. Instead of that, USA take only one single man, no woman, for Alpine snowboarding to the Sochi Olympic games. Justin Reiter must felt like a lost Apache Indian on a horse at New-York downtown rushhour.
7. Well, where all that "Detkov's" have been on PSL race? They ride drunken by Wodka? A rider from Ukraine was listet way higher, than all orgin Russian snowboarder! SOBOLEV Andrey, KOLEGOV Valery, DETKOV Stanislav had been on the last 4 rank at the end of the list. Even on PGS there was only one orgin Russian snowboarder on the finals. So it sounds very strange, Russia needs foreign snowboarders (Vic Wild did a change vew time ago to russia in case of financial reasons) for to go for gold or any medals. As I saw all the Russians on Worldcup race podiums the last Years, I thought Russians start to learn how to ride a snowboard. But they have not be able to make a good show on the Olympic games in Sochi now. In stead of that, an American rider take both alpine snowboarding gold medals. Thats realy amazing! You know, alpine snowboarding was never that popular in the US, like in Europe and more than a decade before US alpine riders have been nobodys on slalom races. If you take the world ranking list from snowboardranking.com best US rider on Duel slalom was then on rank 75 only. Finnland an Australian riders had been than way better.
8. Vic Wild does it! Double Olympic gold! Kessler on top on women an men race!
9. Incredible! Vic Wild put with penalty time Karl out! He goes now for gold or silver again!
10. Vic Wild starts finals with incredibel acceleration on his first gates! He is again on his allflex plate. Boccacini (Italia) is now on 1/4 finals. She ride Rabanser snowboards, with Bomber bindings on. Zogg on (new?) white colored Kessler K-Plate. Lambert is now out. JJA is out now too. Very unlucky games for the Canada riders on PGS and PSL this Year in the East.
11. Vic Wild again No 1 after elimination round. He finished qualification runs as the fastest of all. We saw again some nice carving runs with less drifting-in. Sochi offers a sunny deep blue morning sky for that. But again a lot of slope workers had to prepare slope to the best after every run. There was a very grippy 100 % artifical snow. We must hope slope doesn't break in like we had on PGS Sochi race. Rider talked they never had such difference of snow conditions between qualifications and finals since many season on tour, like here at Sochi. Unfortunately not one single Canadian girl will enter the finals. JJA and lucky Lambert (same time like an Austrian rider) are qualified. Reiter from USA is diqualified, so no US riders on PSL finals. German rider Bussler was with Intec step in bindings on the race. First heat on final runs is: Vic Wild --- Michael Lambert
12. Maybe these had been the same words of many people, like we saw after 2002 Salt Lake City winter Olypic-Games as Schoch won on a Kessler snowboard his first Olympic gold medal on PGS ever! Novosibirsk? They now there out in Novosibirsk what Iouri Podladtchikov ride? Wholy s***! It' just some weeks ago I was alone with a nice Siberian girl with snowboard on, on a highspeed quad chairlift here on the Alps. She asked me if we allways ride on such high outdoor temperatures snowboard, like we have now. And she talked about how it feels riding at minus 30° (-22 Farenheit) in Siberia. For sure, it's not a board thing for to reach Olympic gold! But if there is no trust into the board, there will be missing, or less trust in Your moves on snow. This can make the difference between gold to silver, or even crashing. Iouri Podladtchikov could snip with his fingers since Years and any big snowboard maker like Burton, Nitro and so on takes him for $$$$$$$ Pumpkin from Cloud-9, thats the brand he ride, isn't capable at all to do sponsorings to Podladtchikov. Pumpkin is a super tiny brand. So they are only capable to build excelent snowboards for free to Podladtchikov, thats all they can do. And even this excellence of a shape is what we need on any snow-conditions for riding. Like pure ice we saw on Sochi PGS qualification runs and even up to that Sochi subtropical slush on halfpipe runs. Thats a key factor, which is managed less and less, even by many of alpine snowboard builders today. So the alpineboard I talked here about is the Pumpkin Jack Da Rippa Pumpkin snowboards can find here, like Iouri's board too. JTR Price tag is at about $700 free of tax. Price includes chosing one of 8 different graphics and build to Your wight for sure. (should be asked before Your order) Cloud-9 it's one of the most authentic fun-sports store/brand we can find on planet earth. They are small and they do just fun-sports, not marketing like many others. (and please don't overrun them, they are not capable due to the production limits to feed all the world with snowboards)
13. Just show them at USSA this photo and ask them what beside the colors is wrong on it:
14. For to be right: MEN 1st- ALLFLEX 2nd - SG 3rd - ALLFLEX And since 2002 SLC Olympics for PGS Kessler's again on the top! MEN 1st- Kessler 2nd - SG 3rd - Oxess WOMEN 1st- Kessler 2nd - Black Pearl 3rd - Kessler for boots: MEN 1st- Northwave .950 - 98/99 2nd - Deeluxe Track 700 3rd - Northwave .950 97/98 WOMEN 1st- Dalbello Krypton 2nd - Northwave .950 - 97/98 3rd - UPZ RC10 Allflex plates blowed out UPM insert pattern systems. They are way easier for riders to setup and find out sweet spot of binding positions then on pure isolating plates.
15. Hi, can you imagine how sweet is this: Walking to the letterbox on an icy early morning, taking out newspaper and: Bang! Alpine snowboarders fills the frontpage by a over a third of the newspaper. First pages of sports: 2 full sheets with alpine snowboarding relatet stuff only. Why U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association abandoned alpine snowboard racing? There is a big change in progress. Snowboarding, as discused [thread=41567]here[/thread], declines in the West. Sales figures are boken in dramatic. Freeskiing is the future. US men dominate and won all medals of ski-slopestyle (Joss Christensen/Gus Kenworthy/Nicholas Goepper) and won ski halfpipe (Davis Wise) too. For sure Vic Wild winning for Russia Olympic gold medal is like a Sputnik shock of the fithies of last century. In fact country of eastern Europe reveal snowboarding in the last Years. So we can see now riders from Russia (Halfpipe/PGS), or Czech republic (woman's SBX) taking Olympic gold. There have been many truckloads of used boards moved from Western Europe to Eastern Europe during the last decade. Even they take all the older and out of order chairlifts and T-bar lifts to the mountains of Eastern Europe for cheap. While snowboard market in Western Europe established now as low like on the early nineties, in Eastern Europe we have a boom, they come just 20 Years later, thats it. And about "Russia's gain": we will see after the Olympics what will happen. You know, it's just Lenin-Stalin-Putin. As discused above, politics and sport are irrevocably intertwined and Olympic games are a very high priority showcase for some men. How imported it is, you saw in our case: how many used Nortwave .950 hardboots have been sold at a very high price to Russia buyers the last couple of Years. I think nearly all of them, money doesn't matter, it's just for the Olympic games. I don't think in Russia anyone will plow after the Olympics anymore millions of funding into hardbooters training programs, we will see. Ahm beside, You saw the guy winnig Olympic silver medal was riding a Bomber BTS on his Deeluxe Track 700 hardboots. In about 14 hours we will see what happens on PSL qualification runs. There is a new chance for any rider.
16. Russia has now the first official Olympic Gold medalist on Snowboard. His name is Vic Wild !
17. We had live pictures of qualify runs from women and men. Exceptional nice weather today and after rain Yesterday evening and a clear sky during the night, we have a perfect hard and gripy slope. Someones talked about icy. There can be seen trenches on slope, so it's not realy icy! Just as discused here: 1. Andrey Sobolov (Russia) 2. Vic Wild (Russia) Justin Reiter was not able to reach the finals (24.) Canadians JJA and Morison are some places behind and will go for finals. Woman league: not one single US girl on starter list. Leason, Calve and Lavigne from Canada are qualified. Final showdown starts now in about 25 minutes!
18. It's action time by Shaun White! Iouri Podladtchikov did it and won GOLD. He did his own created Yolo-flip (You only live once) in an exciting perfect way. Shaun White, the world only rider else capable to do it, did it too. But the flip wasn't that perfect. So there remain the question on which snowboard Iouri won Olympic gold medal? Quiksilver isn't the board shaper. One thing was very crazy and was never seen before: no US guys on mens Olympic podium of halfpipe run. The women did it better (Kaitlyn Farrington 1./Gnu & Kelly Clark 3./Burton). Podladtchikov was very stocked right after both of his runs, because he knows moves had been well done like on best dreams. Shaun White was congratulating him. The two Japaneese riders of mens final haven't been that lucky about silver and brown medals. Snow condition was bad on final round. We saw many of the worlds top-12 rider crashing on the flat because of soft and shaking snow. As I wrote above, coming back from the air there is a high speed. You need a board whitch is able to offer a confidential control on Your ride. So on which board-label Iouri Podladtchikov won last WSF Worldchampionships AND ISF Worldchampionship AND now Olympic Gold medal? Does anyone here at BOL has an idea? You can buy from that label carving boards since Years too. They are called the "JTR". Waist is at 193mm to 202mm. (I hide the label by a blue field) I know, there are many board makers now for Alpine snowboarding. Donek, Coiler, F2 and so on, You know them all well. Even there are upcomming newer label like On-Edge-Style. They seems to be like Sputnik-carvers made in Spain. But it sounds not well if Spanish riders on Olympic halfpipe final round are on Yonex (JPN) boards and not on Made-in-Spain snowboards. Even I have to ask here again, why realy no-one want to give any trust to boards from labels which can beat every highest level contest like WSF Worldchampionships and ISF Worldchampionship and winter Olympics? And there is more, we saw riders on that boards on each Sochi Olympic halfpipe finals. So boards from that tiny label must not be a minority or a bad thing. And about the worse snow condition on the transistions and flat of the Olympic halfpipe: did you see how confidential and on which running silence Podladtchikov was riding and pushing-up his speed there, while many others crashed? Come-on, say me which boards realy sucks!
19. Seek for F2 Speedster boards season 2014/2015. F2 will have new Youth lenght Speedster SL-125 cm and Speedster SL-131 cm.
20. Today (5:30 p.m. GMT) we have big halfpipe showdown on Sochi Olympics. As Iouri Podladtchikov (Russia) says on early morning radio interview, he was very dissatisfied about he was only 4. last winter Olympics. (was it at that rainy Vancouver Canadian Games?) His goal is not to win now a gold medal. His goal is to take Shaun White in trouble. So for that he rent a huge and high factory building, puting in Europeans bigest jumping sheet. For sure all equipements like game-consoles, big-screen TV, highspeed internet are in too. He was than able to do trainings when ever he wants all the last Year. Last automn I had the chance to keep one of his contest boards in my hands and flex the board. I think it's just only bloody basics to have 1:1 and in reality touched the tools from one of Worlds best snowboarders ever. For sure it was not a rocker shape. Podladtchikov like to ride very fast and with a confidential control. So no rocker, no early-rise, no decambering on nose and tail.
21. The gold pad are not of solid plastics. It's a well known thing. Buy some grey ones, or pads from actual Deeluxe boots.
22. Justin at Sudelfeld February 1. 2014? Well just after my 3. edit from 11:50 GMT, they cut the stream on internet. So I had to move to my sports bar. There I got full 2 hours of watching PGS on large screen of a full-HD beamer and for sure with beer and snacks. In fact we had over 4 hours of PGS snowboard live pictures from Sudelfeld that day (6 hours live-emissions at all). In the morning there was live-streaming, with subtitles of riders and time on the second qualification run. At afternoon we had great TV-pictures. The German ARD broadcaster-crew did a perfect work with multiple camera view. Due to the desaster of last season (no TV-broadcasting - no Sudelfeld PGS), Germany first nationwide Television ARD, made it as good we never saw it the past Years from other PSL or PGS venues. Thanks a lot to ARD crew at Sudelfeld. Thanks a lot to Oliver Kraus for that great sharp pictures and Sudelfeld of Bayrisch-Zell organisation for to let us see all that big size photos of Sudelfeld PGS. For more pictures check venue-site at Sudelfeld (GER), even that 186 pictures here, from Oliver Kraus All the pictures are available as 6.6 MP. Justin Reiter (USA / Bib 8 / Photo No.79 & No.136), click for big size: Sylvain, Lucki and Justin Reiter on Podium, click for full size: Sigi-Grabner, with Redbull instead of champagne, hi-res on click: Spectators at Sudelfeld hill, F2 was there too, see right lower corner, click for fullsize: Canadians seems to join Sudelfeld too: Matthew Morison (Canada / Bib 8 / Photo No.116 & No.117), click them for large size: Caroline Calve (Canada / Bib 8 / Photo No.58), click for let she come closer to You: Marianne Leeson on a Black-Pearl (Canada / Bib 25 / Photo No.97), klick for fullsize and now some exotic riders: Valeriya Tsoy (Kazachstan / Bib 27 / Photo No.106), on Deeluxe Free 69 with RAB. 23. We have worldwide live stream from PGS qualification runs just these minutes! Watch here: http://www.snowboardgermany.com/index.php?id=163 edit: You can watch full 4 hours of Worldcup Alpine snowboarding today, qualification runs included. First Qualification round is now finished, we are now on the second one. - Livestream from 8 a.m. GMT to 10 a.m. GMT - Television broadcast on German first channel ARD from 12 a.m. to 2 p.m. GMT - Eurosport-2 will also broadcast the finals. I think, it's the first time since many Years we can see worldwide enhanced live-pictures from qualification runs. Lifestream runs only with enthuastic German speaker informations from Sudelfeld itself. On qualification runs we had now time for to watch very exotic riders like from Kasachstan, Bulgaria, Poland, Ukraine, Great Britain or the Neederlands. 2nd. edit (10:20 GMT) Full qualification round had been online for watching PGS alpine snowboarding. Slope quality and weather conditions are brilliant today. Livestream seams to be continued now with venue-stage-sound and live-view to the slope and sometimes some slowmotion race pictures of the qualification rounds. We can have the hope, livestream is available too for the finals. Sir Sigi Grabner runs his last Worldcup race with white shirt and black swallow tailcoat on. We saw also a German head-to-head girls race from Bavarian highlands vs. Allgäu county. 4 sunny hours of worldwide available live pictures, what a great day for hardboot snowboarding! 3. edit (11:50 GMT) Livestream is still online showing venue slope overview, there are left 10 minutes for to go. Air temperature at 40 Farenheit. Benjamin Karl is out, no final run. Sir Sigi Grabner is qualified for final. Finals: 4 riders for Austria, 4 riders for Switzerland, 2 riders for Russia (including Vic Wild) one rider only for Canada, USA, Germany, France, Slovenia, and Italia.
24. It's just a simple metric M6 0.5d nut / DIN 439B ~ ISO 4035 / steel: class 04 for an open-jaw wrench: 10.0mm, nut-high = max. 3.2mm also available as a stainless steel nut (double costs, less strength) means it's not a F2 specivic part!
25. Just put a nice cover of snow over that bad things and it's allright and it's like in paradise. See: http://rosaski.com/ they have one ft of fresh pow today and liftticket is at only $46 one day Corruption starts inside of Olympic commitee. What happens in Russia is just a multiply. Different country, different launch how things goes on. Does anyone here remember 2006 Torino Olympics in Italy? All that not finished roads, buildings and dump sides? Sochi 2014 is more expensive, than conjunctive costs of all winter Olympic games ever. But Sochi will never be able to reach 1994 Lillehammer (Norway) XVII Olympic winter games! Goldmedals of Lillehammer are golden. Goldmedals of Sochi worthiness is zero, just because thousands of very poor workers from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and so on will not been paid ever, but have been abused like slaves!
