  1. That (seems to be never used before) Northwave Point 950 MP 27.5 race hardboots have been sold for: b i n g Swiss Francs CHF 1'620.- rating € 1'320.- rating $ 1'800.- f***, never ever I saw such a high price for some yellow Points 950 ! They must have a Swiss bank account for to pay such a high price for that old plastics.
  2. Actual bid is now at $1200 for that 16 Years old piece of plastics. Well, FIS Worldcup stays at Sudelfeld this week. Thats 250 miles on road from sellers place. If any worldcup racers look up for such boots, he might be able to pick up them e.g. January 30. 8 a.m. in the morning. On the way back to Sudelfeld in Lech-Zürs a new foam Strolz-liner can be foamed-in. So there would be remaining nothing against to be on top of the FIS Worldcup podium Saturday afternoon!
  3. for them who seek for a pair of .950 (I'm not the seller, just search engine shows me the auction) Highest bid of auction is now at around crazy high $800 for some 16 Years old hardboots! Auction ends January 30. 00:01 http://www.fr.ricardo.ch/acheter/sport/snowboard/boots/hardboots/pointure-41-42/l/cn68279/ http://www.fr.ricardo.ch/acheter/sport/snowboard/boots/hardboots/pointure-41-42/northwave-point-950-snowboard-race-boots/v/an728279454/
  4. The Burton MGX (megaflex) are from Aigner, which are later known as UPS. Nowadays it's UPZ. The Blax / Head hardboots, are from Dalbello (Italy since 1974, former Henke Swiss), also sold as Dalbello TWS-5. The Burton Furnance, Reactor and Shadow hardboots are Made in Austria. Burton Ice, Wind, Fire are Made in Italy, someones says by Garmont. which is less then on Nortwave Point series, but even more then all other hardboots. Ramp angle may be good on rear foot, but awfully for front leg, giving riding limitations to snowboarders, doesn't matter if intermediate carver, or even multiple world-champion.
  5. Thanks for planja-jasa-kosuta - camera. I didn't see pictures then, because that camera jumps and zooms around like a wild rabbit. It still rains now in Rogla like Yesterday on PGS race too. This morning we saw on first camera link, how the brougt-in a truck-load of snow. Yes they can wear them now. This winter world-cup, the girls never will get freezing-cold toes with UPZ's. Outdoor temperatures on Carezza races have been at 30F and 28F, Bad Gastein at 36F and 34F, Rogla at 41F Thats quite warm, isn't it. So You can go snowboarding with UPZ's! Snowboard Worldcup looks like more to become watersports then wintersports. Maybe it's one of the last global warming looser round, we see now on 2013/14 PGS/PSL FIS-Worldcup. For powdersnow we like to have 0F. For that we should shift 3000ft-5000ft higher then Rogla, Bad Gastein, or Suddelfeld. Bad Gastein woman's winner has ridden on green skiboots, the second one girl on the yellow Deeluxe Free 69 with RAB-springs. Thats what I saw on HD-TV screen from ORF broadcast.
  6. Rogla race-day today! You can actualy see rider walk in and put boards on here now just on this minutes on whats-up cam live: http://www.whatsupcams.com/wucf_mod_2.php?id=si_rogla1&autoplay=true&width=768&height=480 (poor snow conditions too in Rogla!)
  7. There is realy poor snow, thats why they cancel Jauerling WorldCup race, which was overtaken then by Bad Gastein last Friday. Jauerling webcam shows us good time for mountainbiking or golfing. http://www.jauerling.at/hdwebcam/berg/P_1920.jpg Even SBX Worldcup race of Veysonnaz is now shifted from January 18./19. to the begin of March, which is later than the Olympics. Veysonnaz holds many time FIS PGS races, but switched since a couple of Years to SBX.
  8. Dupraz D1 works well on moguls. Same slope, market with red strokes, shows only upper part of downhill. Nidecker Proto IV, the wider one is a turny board too for moguls. At Your weihgt don't take the 162cm / 225mm waist. Go to the 167cm / 228mm waist. Avoid to buy the one with aluminium power deck (e.g. from 2008/2009). You can keep Your Dupraz as well. Look for some SnowPro Base bindings with bails (softer plastic baseplate) instead of the SP Race FAST. If you You like to keep Your Race FAST bindings, turn them to as flat angles as possible. Add an 6° canting plate on the rear binding and 3° on front bindings without heel- toelifts.
  9. Thats just cheap and hard plastics added since 2003/2004 to the F2 Titanium, replacing the former upper ESD-dampeners. That covers are just nice design items, nothing else. Flip head-over the bail-block and check plastics too. They are lazzy made compared to the older ones.
  10. Oh, I'm sorry. ORF is free-TV and they have country limitations? Use any other live-streaming channels offering ORF-1. Search: orf tv channel usa re-cast time above was wrong! Try streaming the re-cast Monday 13. 00:50 GMT (which is Sunday evening in america) Europe runs now out of snow. On gate No.3 on Bad-Gastein blue course, finals riders cut black trenches every run. Black trenches, I mean after passing the gate there was a black line instead of white one. It was looking awfull. Upcomming race is at Rogla, they have now 30cm of snow. Suddelfeld 3600ft. has now only 10-20cm snow on slope. Due to the warm temperatures making artifical snow fails. See webcam of Sudelfeld race slope: http://www.sudelfeld.de/bayrischzell/images/webcams/webcam/waldkopf.jpg Pray for snow!
  11. Don't miss to watch TV today! 15:10 - 17:00 GMT (please calculate your local time) TV-station: ORF-1 Main Austrian Broadcasting television station ORF - 1 sends live-pictures form the first 2013-2014 Worldcup race with re-run format this season. Broadcast starts in about 2 hours and 15 minutes from now. We will see hardbooters for 1¾ hours on screen. Internet live stream will be found here: http://tvthek.orf.at/live Check it, if available in your country. You will find a re-cast January 13. 05:55 GMT
  12. No, these are outlet boards, thats why the boards/sets are cheap. Pale factory doesn't exist anymore. Pale boards are not the winners choice. But on the otherside they are not that bad and mostly of good made & quality. ;) I was sure this question will follow! No comment anymore, You made your decision. It's a shrinked in waist F2 Eliminator for 40-65kg . What do You want? To carve or to ride Snowboardcross with hardboots? @19.5cm waist? Upgrade your new super-soft bindings to stiffer ones. Bingo! Right one perfect link, that's it! As I wrote it above Deeluxe liners, they are just a kind of disaster. The seller wrote why he put them to ebay and he will switch back to softboots now! Rather You may or can think about, then filter things out! Ask Kessler how he developed KST! Did he on snowboard, or did he on skis? And as he overtake KST to snowboards, for what type of slopes he was working on? What can be best choice for US, must not perform best for slopes/snow/mountains and style of ridings anywhere. I don't say Kessler's are bad, but Kessler's have limitations. For riding in Spain on the most West located spots in Europe for snowboarding, just where Magelan and Columbus left the world to explore america, you can ride Kessler and a Goltes Easy Carve for sure. Otherwise there can be some ice ahead, even here where I rode. Some pure ice, You know! It's not that snow hardened by low pressure from Ratrac some vew times. It's just only ice, You know. Hardened by tons of pressure since millions of Years. Even if steep and rough, capability of edge-grip and running silence would not be a wish, but just only basic attributes, even on higher speed.
  13. and there are skiresorts on the outskirts of Madrid! You know, Spain has the second highest mountain chain of Europe. Some of the resorts are realy kind of exotic. They reach up to 11'000ft (3400m) altidue, one hour's to drive from the Mediterian sea. So you can ski in the morning and surf in the afternoon on the sea. National participation rate of skiing is higher then on US and skiing in Spain is a centuries-old tradition. Well, back now to the freecarve beginner board from Goltes: I think Euro 200.- with bindings included is a good price! The board is an OEM product from PALE snowboard factory (no more existing), as I wrote with an Aircell Woodcore CAP. Pale sold it as "Drive" and there have been other brandet boards. I have to be more precise: These Goltes boards have the same outline and construction like the Heavy Tools Drive from 1989/99. Testreport of freeriding-alpine boards judge the Drive better then an Oxygen FR! Goltes Easy Carve isn't a perfect carving board. The board in 164cm is to wide (23.5cm) for to be playfull at this shoe size. For to enter on the alpine carving world, give it a try. Even for to ride all kind of snow, for sure powdersnow too. For the HT Drive 164cm, riders weight was recommended to 65-85kg. Even if that board wouldn't be good for Gben, he can try to sell it for use with softbindings (HT Drive was designed for plate-&softbindings). Take care about the bindings: SnowPro SP - Base Ask Goltes.com what kind of baseplate the bindings you will order has on! Snowpro BASE has as orginal a plastic baseplate Snowpro FORCE has a F-54 aluminium baseplate with rubber damping It seems Goltes mixed the bail-blocks on the close-up-picture of SP-Base. There was never a F-54 aluminium baseplate with labeled BASE bail-blocks from SP! So if you get the board/binding with F-54 aluminium baseplate it's o.k. I mean also for future use on more carving dedicated boards or raceboards. If you get a plastic base-plate, it's good for freeriding and freecarving. Plastic baseplate would not be able to be corrected to O°, they have an integrated 3° canting. F-54 aluminium baseplate, which comes with 3° canting have optional cantings and heellifts (self-made, or get a rare now set of canting/lift parts). Boots: the black Deeluxe Track 325 might be too stiff for Your weight and this board. Seek for the grey Track 225. Don't take 2013/14 Track 225. 2013/14 Track 225 boots are near as stiff like 2013/14 Track 325. Compared to a Raichle SB 123/313/113 way to stiff! Deeluxe boots are more and more turning to a desaster. Now realy bad quality of liner and many bad things on shell too. Seek for an older Raichle SB 123/223/313/113 for to ride with the Goltes Easy Carve. They must have not weared-out buckles (no loose rivets to the shell). Put away old liner and buy e.g. new Palau Alpine-Overlap-Soft Thermoflex liner (Euro 85.-). Maybe You can get them on a ski-shop in Madrid which have touring-ski boots and an oven for to fit Your boots. Why do You think these in many times "prototypes" are on a good price, because they are a perfect snowboard-shape? New Choc boards and other choc brandet stuff have been seen on winter 2007/2008 last time on European mass market, we are now 2013/2014. Choc factory seems to be still active producing for grey market, as they did it also before. 2013/14 Kessler The Alpine 168 is to stiff for an 69 kg rider! For sure Kessler's are easy to handle/ride, they have rockered nose and tail - ahm sorry Hansjörg, a nose-geometry and a tail-geometry. But as H.J. Kessler build his boards to be riden like a ski, Kessler boards stay very limited for true carving action.
  14. Not at all. These slopes can be funny to ride some vew times, than it turns to boring, very boring. Even all the safety net giving left-rail and right-rail are awful. Carving hard the collected 180°-ies on narrow slopes from rail to rail can be so much nicer. Even if rails are given e.g. by a t-bar lift and forest trees defined by a fence of rusty barbed wire! (do not crash!) Rails even can be given by rocks (please don't crash): and slope lines by mountain wilderness on this >3000ft downhill: Thats an interesting way to go, I mean some independet slopes at >3000 feet downhill only - no houses, no restaurants at all, no more lifts to split that higher than 3000 feet. And for sure carving and riding at once, without any stops.
  15. Hi Gben, I thought Spain is still under protection of ECB (economic crisis). So I'm happy to see there is an upcomming financial headroom for buying snowboards. Don't destroy that headroom with buying boards like Oxess or Virus. The are way to expensive for beginners and for shure they won't help alpine-boarding beginners. Call 607 217 886 in Barcelona (http://botadura.com) Beside Kessler boards (expensive) he has left some F2 boards maybe and Swoard carving boards too. Goltes Easy Carve can be a choice. Go to the 158cm at your weight. This wider shape makes it easy to handle the board, for trying carving, boards with a waist around 190mm can be better. Keep in mind: - Goltes Easy Carve has a compound core CAP construction, so no full woodcore! Thats why price is so low. Compound cores wear out faster then full woodcores. But for an entry level, it can be a choice. - SnowPro F.a.s.t requires special and now rare heel adapters for Your hardboots! FAST heel-adapters wear out fast too. Take a view to Trans Snowboards (SL and GS). The new ones comes on same shape like F2 Speedster Equipe, they are fully identic, but whithout waxtop-sheet like on F2 Equipe. Trans is made now by GST (Austria). Trans Pro SL has a Euro 100 lower price tag then F2 Speedster Equipe. http://www.water-colors.de/snow/alpinboards/24329/trans-alpin-snowboard-race-pro-sl-2014 http://www.water-colors.de/snow/alpinboards/24330/trans-alpin-snowboard-race-pro-gs-2014 On this German store the SL is at Euro 450.-, the GS at Euro 550.- (online-store Euro 600.-). Ask for a good price if buying board and bindings together. (Owner of Water-Colors owns F2 !) Trans Pro SL 153cm / radius 8.8m is recommended to rider from 50-75 kg, Trans Pro SL 158cm / radius 9.2m is recommended to rider >60 kg Trans Pro GS 169cm / radius 14m is recommended to rider from 50-75 kg, Trans Pro GS 175cm / radius 15m is recommended to rider >60 kg Delivery time and costs in EC are fast/cheap (no customs-tax) If for go to a nice price (Euro 100.-) midrange-radius GS board watch this: http://www.jagaball.de/Boardsport/Modell-Race-Alpin-Board-TOP-PREIS-233.html It's an older shape and I don't know how it rides. So Gben, don't go for long 180cm board like mostly recommended. Good carvers can beat out every 180cm boarder, even on highspeed at icy slopes, or afternoon shaking wild slopes, with a shorter 153cm board.
  16. Hi KiwiCarver, You are planing for December 2014, or You think about now on December 2013? Take it easy! Don't switch to any things far away from Laax, don't seek for any low level internet informations about riding on alpine boards , just simple e-mail: info(at)schneesportschule.ch They are located on neighbour ski resort Brigels (some vew kilometers West of Laax). They give lessons in Laax too. Don't miss to take some lessons / rent item from them on SKWAL ! Isn't that a skill, where You want to go? ;) The guys of Brigels are member of legendary Swiss Snowboard school, offering lessons from SSBS Rider System See section "Carve & Speed". If You are not in common to go for carving with flow on fast runs between 50 and 70 km/hour, or smooth runs above 70 km/hour, they have "Allround Courses" whitch is on lower level, introducing You from basic carving, up to dynamic carving / carving on steep slopes and so on. Similar courses You will find at Snowboard School Sägerei at Sedrun, which is located some kilometers more to the West. For private lessons they can also join You at Laax. For to be clear: allways write to them You decide courses/lessons on hardboots!
  17. Hello Dan, Yes, when You are back, everyone here on forum is waiting for Your report from the Dolomit Italian Alps! If You seek for older Protons or similar old boards go to willhaben.at which means "I want get". Type in "raceboard" on search field "Volltextsuche" and you will find near to an unlimited amount of Protons and other stuff. Oxygen Proton's starts at $20 and You will find any length you need. It's as cheap, as You can buy 2 boards. So if one doesn't fit Your needs, You take the second one. willhaben.at is an Austrian site. Maybe You can make a stop in Innsbruck (Munich - Italy), so delivery of boards can be make to a postal office in Innsbruck / Austria. It's called "Postlagernd" = Your adress at that postal office. The seller of board will help You about the procedure. Snowblades are easy to ride and to carve. They fit hardboots. Maybe You need sticks like skiers for to have more stability. Carry a backpack for to bring back the snowblades to Siusi/Seis Yes, You can do long-distance travel across multiple resorts and for sure multiple country too in Europe with skis. Reaching Kostner Sports from Siusi/Seis is a matter of 90 minutes by two bus, one gondola and downhill by snowblades. If You have more time, You go over Seiser Alm by snowblades, downwards to S.Ulrich bei gondola, bus to Wolkenstein and further to Corvara. I think, if You leave Siusi allo Sciliar/Seis around 8 am by bus You will reach around 9:30 by snowblades Corvara. Please ask on Hotel-desk or Tourist-Office at Siusi/Seis. They will help You to take the right bus ans right ski ticket for to go to Corvara or Kolfuschg/Colfosco for lessons on alpineboards. Taking the bus is mostly included on ski-pass. Don't miss to ride Sella Ronda if You are there. It's a great round trip by ski/snowboard only. Needs a full day. So take care to not spend to much time for caching countless of photos of this dream scenario. Sella Ronda starts at Wolkenstein, which is the same point to reach Corvara by Gondola No. 30 (Danterceppies) from Wolkenstein up to Grödner Joch. Again, please ask then on Hotel-desk or Tourist-Office at Siusi/Seis for all the possibility.
  18. Hi Dan, what about ski race standings at Beaver Creek now? Maybe all the .de sites are wrong. You know Seiser Alm (Siusi allo Sciliar) is not located in Germany, even if some residentals speak German language. Siusi allo Sciliar is located in Italy, there is nothing in common with Germany. You rather should seek for .it domains. Depending what you can get there, bringing own bindings can be better. Kostner Sport at Corvara has a carvingbaoard for rent. Corvara is located on the other side of Grödner Joch pass (Passo Gardena) witch You will reach by snowboard from Siusi allo Sciliar. Alternate you rent some Snowblades at Siusi allo Sciliar first and last day for $14 a day for to reach Corvara or Kolfuschg/Colfosco for to pick up / bring back your rental-board. You need a ski-ticket vallid for all the lifts from Siusi/Seis to Corvara. Dolomiti-super-ski covers all lifts. Skibus Val Gardena Ski-Express from St. Ulrich-Wolkenstein can help to be faster there ($12 one week). Don't miss to take some lessons on a raceboard. You can do that right on the way/slope to Corvara! At east flank of Grödner Joch pass You will find the village Kolfuschg (Colfosco) where you will find a shop called Posch Sport Alta Badia Marion Posch, twice time World Champion and World Cup Winner will improve Your rides with hardboots immediatly in some few lessons. I recommend highly to spend some $ for school on boards. Ask Marion and Posch Sport store, if they have GS-boards, or freecarve-boars for rent too. I think they can help You. And more: > ask Snowboard Club Villnöss, near of Siusi/Seis (fsp.1994 write-an-at gmail.com). Some members have Tomahawk's, SigiGrabner and F2-RS for sale. Maybe some members will give You a board for use it for free. > and as I wrote: Frozen-backside .de it's just German not Italian! So turn away from frozen carvers to carver with fire under hot edge, ask if they can help You! There is a Want-to-Buy section too (Vendo e compro). Good luck!
  19. Siusi allo Sciliar is south of Castelrotto, both located between Bolzano and St.Ulrich, right? What about rental items. Snowboard only? Binders and boots too?
  20. Kessler snowboards are comming late to the shops this Year. I checked the boards on a nice presentation weekend of all the new 2013-2014 snowboarding gear. Attention, the brandnew Kessler Cross-Light commes with some much softer flex compared to The Cross itself. The Cross is a very stiff board, as stiff as all that Scott Strike raceboards have been once. It may be a good choice for heavy weight and powerfull riders. The new Kessler Cross-Light is even not little softer, I can say it's more to much softer! The difference is variable depending of the lenght. Even compared to a Kessler The Ride, a Kessler Cross Light feels softer in flex. Kessler anounced 20% less weight on the Cross-Light. Thats not true, the new stock board is about 15% lighter than the orginal board The Cross. A Kessler Cross-Light comes with one pound less, then the orginal one is. The weight can be now compared to any other mid-price freestyle board from other brands. Please note, all the raceboards called Kessler The Alpine are now delivered with UPM patterns beside 4x4. Except the short slalom boards with 150cm and 156cm lenght, they have Vist inserts and 4x4. Check also the new slim K-Plate. By the way: Kessler Swiss has moving headquarter at end of september this Year to an new location. So Hansjürg Kessler will be able to join Kessler Swiss headquarter in one single hour by car (and for sure at first by cabletrain).
  21. FIS Worldcup races 2013-2014 Some changes occur on FIS World Cup calendar. (no more draft, it's now official and fixed) Season will be closed very early with the Putin Games. PGS of La Molina March 9. can not found anymore on FIS World Cup calendar. For to have an overall ranking on end of season for PSL, FIS is adding a race (PSL Carezza). They need at least 3 races for to make an overall ranking. Sudelfeld date was shifted to one week later. Official FIS World Cup calendar 2013-2014 December 13. PGS Carezza Italy 14. PSL Carezza Italy January 10. PSL Jauerling Austria 12. PSL Bad Gastein Austria 18. PGS Rolga Slovenija February 1. PGS Sudelfeld Germany 19. PGS Sochi Putin-Olympics 22. PSL Sochi Putin-Olympics Edit: PGS of La Molina cancelled, it's now official see here! Spain remains still in a big Euro financial crise and is under control of IWF and ECB. So local government is not able to spend money they have not, for to hold things like snowboard races.
  22. Thanks a lot to kipstar for all that details. I heard Japanese ski resorts have now way less tourists due to radiation scares of ***ushima nuclear disaster (what the hell happens here: ***ushima? I mean F-u-k-u-s-h-i-m-a, thats a Japanese city and not anything of a 4-letter word). If they get a lot of snow, we can ask frome where the waterdrops of clouds have come in. Many hotels and tour companies are offering special deals to try to drum up business now. They offer up to free rooms if buying lift tickets for a week. So it's a good time for to get goodpriced snowboard weeks.
  23. The Oxess 170 would be a wrong choice for the 100lbs Youth. Never give them a penalty by long boards. The shortest available Voelkl RT GS comes in 168, 11m SCR suitable for a weight of 110+, or 130+ depending on Year. Better seek for an older (1995/96) Burton Factory Prime FP 5.9 192s (silver topsheet) in excellent condition. This GS board was made for lighter women and the Youth. SCR 11.84m. That board is managable and easy to ride with fast downhill, but hasn't that killer icegripp like newer brands. Same Year's and 1997/98 Nidecker Extreme GS comes on 162 with SCR 12m (the 161 was the narrow one and with thighter SCR). The balance of handling & icegripp & running silence on that Ndk's is way above the Oxess. SCR of 11m-12m feels quite enough long for young riders. Most newer non-custom-made boards (Burton Speed/F2/Hot/Oxygen/Voelkl) starts at 164/168 for GS and are for a weight of 120+/130+ Check state of all non-NOS Burton and Volkl boards before buying. They worn out quick. If cost doesn't matter, take a new custom made GS board (Donek, Kessler ... what else)
  24. Kessler has a new board this Year, the Cross-Light. I rembember me 2 Years ago, Kessler talked from a prototype board which is below 2000 Gramm for the 158 length. But it was way to expensiv for to put on market (> $4000). Kessler was looking forward to be ready for around 2013, or maybe later. Now Kessler comes out with a new board, it could not be the board I'm writing about, but a development out of it. Unfortunatly they have no specs on their webside at this time. The new Cross-Light is announced on the event folder. ( www.kessler-swiss.com/en-US/events ) For new shapes, take attention to pureboarding also. For this season they sell the PB TWO 2.0 reloaded.
  25. Yes, no Telluride Worldcup-race upcomming season. Without the Putin-Games we can count only 6 races on highest level for next season. 2 PSL and 3 PGS before the Olympics, thats poor. Even if racers want to find the right settings and feeling. Riders will have a lot of pressure for to have enough good results to get a selection to the Olympic team. Switching back to season 98/99 for to compare, we found than 19 races on World Pro Tour and World Series (10x DU/PSL and 9 GS). Thats a 3-time amount of races than now by FIS. These 19 are counted without Olympics or Worldchampionchips. Announced NAC races for season 2013-2014: November 11. PGS Copper Mountain, CO USA 12. PGS Copper Mountain, CO USA 14. PSL Copper Mountain, CO USA 15. PSL Copper Mountain, CO USA December 18. PSL Steamboat Springs, CO USA 19. PGS Steamboat Springs, CO USA January: 4. PSL Buck Hill, MN USA 5. PSL Buck Hill, MN USA 20. PGS Holliday Valley, NY USA 21. PSL Holliday Valley, NY USA Missing yet races in Canada.
