Full review might have to wait until next year as carving conditions have been destroyed in New England for now. 😢  10 day forecast does not look good.  However on some nice cold chalk on Friday I was having a blast on it.  The flex is aggressive and energetic.  Edge hold is abundant.  The sidecut is just beautiful, with the turn size and versatility I wanted.  It conceals the fact that it's a VSR with a very smooth feel.  Carve initiation is smooth and intuitive.  It has a lot of camber and not much decamber, so combined with the stiffness it doesn't like to skid.  This one's a keeper!

Sounds similar to my 5+ year old green Virus 183GS. It's a keeper too.

That’s a heck of a deal. I’d snag that in a second if our hills were smaller. Is it goofy or regular?

snag it anyway, small boards offer a different kind of fun. Both bigs and I have 162-3 play boards. usually for early and late season but rode mine the other weekend.

  3. This past Sunday was another awesome, bluebird carving session. With another full lineup we proceeded to "knife the place" as said by HillB007.

007, Ice, svr, bigs, D.T., Shelly, Mr. E, Carvin Marvin (with manana), Dennis, Kyle, Kneel and son Sean rounded out those in attendance.

Many hoots, hollas, and comments followed as we proceeded to tear Lovey apart. Snow was a bit on the softer side of last week after a bit of snow fell but still hero. One rider was heard commenting that "that was the most runs this season" they had taken in a single session.

Many sunburned teeth, some refreshing recovery beverages and good times all around with good friends.

@bigwavedave this particular banana is stock-ish super conductor specs 175x19. The core is where we went if the rails. It is “a leap in a direction I have not gone in building a super conductor” according to Mark. The flex index is .349 (pretty freakin stiff apparently) and adjusted the flex pattern for extra bananas. Will definitely elaborate on that further once I’ve ridden it. It looks ripe but I don’t think it would taste very good.

@Carvin' Marvin Future "Heard in the lift line" comment

is that a big banana in your hand or are you just happy to see me

So - Pete - you were the "returning LCI member". Hope you are doing well in ABQ and getting in some turns. Arne has been out healing from shoulder surgery. I think he is out for  the season.

    Take care - John

MonoDude was the returning member and the founding member is Pete (the Sheriff)

  7. Big crew out yesterday for a most awesomest, bluebird carving day.

Big Mario, ice, 007, Kyle, Slopestar, Katie, svr, noob j49, mr.e, and myself. Special guests for the day and returning LCI member the dude and founding member the Sheriff were back in town for the shenanigans. Two skiers even joined the crew today laying down train tracks along side all our ruts.

Crowds got I bit hectic earlier than usual with the holiday weekend but good windows were available with a little patience.

Snow was grippy and good everywhere we went although one former ice coaster was heard saying Richard's was a bit too firm for her liking. Bigs had to depart early for familial priorities but thanks P for at least getting him on hill for a bit.  Progress was made by the noob, Kyle and mr.e who are both trying to regain former glory after overcoming various injuries.

the Sheriff was smooth as ever and the dude was rockin on the mono.

Cahr bahr sponsored by ice included some tart blood orange fizzy stuff, German chocolate dessert beer and some other tasty flavors.

Also stopping by the cahr bahr was Liberation boards BJ and son Owen who had just arrived to go play.

Indeed. I need to get some wax on it and set the bevels. You can ride it if you teach me how to ride it.

I'm game. Same as I've been saying since you started riding with us, sack up and tilt it up on edge.

Are you coming up Sunday? Be good to have you back out since you haven't made it much this season.

The first. I have a titanal "Colorado Edition", so it will be interesting to see how they compare.

I'm a bit off my game this season, so this one might be my new board for next year.

Bring that hypercarbon on Sunday and I'll back to back to back test with both my titanal 183s. 😈

The atomic one is definitely not the same having the two straps above and below. The Trustrap 2.0 are mounted together as one inner and outer strap. Cool though, that more companies are looking into the benefits of the top strap and innovating new ideas.

What's wrong with the original strap? it works perfectly with this boot. It hold everything in right position and the springs do their job.

Nothing "wrong" with the original, just another option for personal preference and customization of fit.

  11. @Carvin' Marvin I strayed from the usual route for my .951s and did not get a Booster Strap.

I went with a new player to the game which has a dbl. strap. One for the liner and one for the shell. So far I really like it and can get things dialed in even better than with just the buckles and MS or Booster.

Check it out https://patriotfootbeds.com/products/trustraps-2-0 These fit absolutely perfectly with the cuff of the .951. The inner strap can be fed through the upper slots so it is inside the shell and the outer remains outside the shell.

Patriot have vids and more info to learn more about their thinking behind the design and bootfitting in general.
