  1. Good group minus the BIG one. Hillb, Ice, SVR, OddJob, J49, greenie and myself on snow today. Softer groom then expected had large trenches being made by all. Practice field was destroyed quickly, fire cut was finally groomed wide with ridges, rolls and other abnormalities. Roulette was pretty good but again, trenched up quickly. Spillway was the firmest run on the hill today. Richards was the usual good stuff till the lift line crossing where idiots were jumping onto the run without spotter or even looking up. Thankfully none of us were taken out.

Greenie, get more aggressive with your riding, both soft and hardboots. Great to see you in the lineup again and hope you make it out before the season finale.

Hoping for a more complete recovery from BIGs so he can be back on hill this coming weekend.

do you have the center discs for theses to mount them?

I think these were actually an early design/prototype for the skibords or whatever they call the little short fruitbooter skis. I have a set of the first gen TD1's, when Fin sold them out of his car, and they aren't cut out through the middle like these are.

    Paging @inkaholic @snow job 1

Thinking holesaw, jigsaw, belt sander and slow set epoxy

Buy a cheapass board and experiment

Do it, if it is a strong enough board to start with.
Mario is correct with choice of tools. I used and angle grinder to cut through the edges.
I cut down a 178ish Donek incline to be 164 Swallowtail so it would work better in pow and still carve well.

Snow is still good but they could use some freshening.

According to Lovey forecast that refresh should be Friday and Saturday.

Didn't someone with them die in an avalanche a few years ago?

Edit, it was a photographer from powder addiction

What boots, bindings, heel/toe lift, stance width were they running? Probably could have made a life or death difference.

  6. What helmet are you wearing? Are your gloves race rated? Is your outfit color coordinated?

What Odd Job said is correct. Technique. And that is different then the technique riding an SL board as a freecarver. Being told where to turn and how sharp is a whole different world.

Actual question...Are you working with a coach or just going at it alone?

Haha sorry I’m a new bee here, didn’t know any of that. What does LCI mean? And do you guys by chance also go to Copper mountain or other Ikon’s? I’m on a ikon pass this season - and I’m visiting Copper this coming weekend 3/4-3/6 actually. Would be nice to get some pointers from an experience carver.🤩

Loveland Carve Initiative...taking over the mountain one carver at a time.

We go to Loveland and can get you a $95 buddy pass on Sunday should you desire. The amount of info, feedback, help and camaraderie is well worth that price in what you can take back to Copper on Monday and the rest of the season. Heck, you may even want to join us on future trips for even more of our shenanigans.

P.S. May be a smaller (fewer riders) sesh as some folks are currently slumming it in Japow and may or may not be on hill if back before the weekend.

No on cooper. Yes on the 19th. Hope you can make it out.

P.S. Miss Shelly made it out to get some runs with us. Joining on 6 then moving to Chets for some Richards runs which was quite good too.

I look forward to meeting you all and the date I am looking at is 3/10/22 if this works.

3/10 is Friday, none of the LCI will be on hill. We will be on hill Sunday 3/12 though.

The incline rips with HB or SB, your choice should you test it out with both.

Funny, I just sent YOU a message at the same time! The mondo size is 29.5. I am seeing via member chatter that 60 degrees sounds about standard....does this sound more appropriate? Thanks!

Angle numbers don't matter as much as not having any overhang. Set up the binders so your heels and toes are at the edges. Add enough splay between front and rear to your liking. Go out and get aggressive with the Rev next time you ride it.

  10. We are usually running greens and blues so no worries there. Lovey doesn't usually groom black diamonds.

Your incline works well with hardboots too. I have a highly modified, very early version that up until this season I only rode with HBs.

Boot heel and toe to the edges, not over, to prevent dragging when tipped high on edge.

Let us know when you can join us.
