  1. this is a lone shot which JoelP sent me 2yrs ago, when I've considering some longggg board like longest burner or split coiler. he reasoned me into buying long superboard with no split-tail. and - counting that I'm avid swallow rider - I'm happy to not going splittail - my coiler has one meter sweetspot, and I need not to worry about the nonlinear tailspring. PS another eye-candy from Joel - turn on swallow-tailed AM:
  2. I've translated it for russian carver's site http://carve.ru/ - and it gave some food for forum controversy, esp. about sport profies :) yeah, sure, waxed/tuned/stored! just received it on last days of last season, so it's not seen siberian snow yet - this is the second undertaker198 in our house, so we know what we get, and yours will be used by my gal (we share our previous 198, bought off JoelP here, on almost 15 funniest deep powder days of last season)
  3. let's show it in public :)
  4. hi, it's gonna hurt, Joel, to part with? thank you very much for your suggestion, though -- I have no plans to part with twin brother of this 196pr superboard, made for me by your directions instead of split-tail
  5. yes, inattentional oldscool :) no pink gaits, and upgraded with intuitions. cheap, with nice vibram to climb over rocky stuff. fritschis - is to accomodate widish toe/heel of older raichle. this setup will be used with karhu metas (w/some undecided touring binders and skins) to climb.
  6. counting all of your suggestions - donex axxess, with right length and stiffness. on stiffness - doneks go on stiffer side of things, so contacting donek on this issue will be reasonable thing. PS me is 200lbs. axis182 in soft moguls - best thing from over hundred of tested boards overall. and do the trick in occasional bottomless too. 4wd 179 & coiler 177am ridden thoroughly too
  7. interested in intuitions. 9 -- which mondo size?
  8. yeah, it's the only board (out of my quiver of 10) which I cannot store in dark space, it stands in front of my bed to do daily "think snow" thing :) now with NOS fritschi plate binders, bought off ebay.de for 1EU :) to be paired with white NOS raichle snowboarder boots, yeah...
  9. BUMP can consider impact also... P.S. to pair my new powdertool:
  10. I never understand first-hand what is DAMP until I get and rode my coiler 196sg superboard (180rc regular is very damp, but superboard is DAMP!). and I cannot describe it in words... one thing characteristic: little to none tail rebound kick at the end of the carve. 80kmh seems like 30kmh on the lively board.
  11. the worst idea which could be got by new rider is a absence of humor sense ;) PS yuri have spoken russian only, he's my friend and I'm spokeperson only. yes, manufacturer was contacted first, but public forums is not for distribution of one and only wisdom of enlightened. may the viewing counter talk for himself. PPS for those who don't gotta point in that talk: I'm strong believer in Sean's craftsmanship. I'm strong believer in a harmness of political correctnessy. and Yuri's business with Donek goes in parallel, and our donek-breaker didn't think he is THE ONLY right person in that dialogue: didn't cat-photo speak for himself? :)

    Catek D3

decoupling the middle base of truflex disk from the board by some ES is a proven&bad idea due to increase in binding suck... PS rode d3'fied os2 week ago over aluminum oxygen thou - for protection
  13. cat: Yuri, is that broken board mean that you don't leave me for the mountains every other day? Yuri: no, dear, that means that you gonn't any meal further until I bought new board VOTE FOR WARRANTY CASE FOR YURI AND SAVE HIS CAT! ;)
  14. yes, it's REAL pity that this donek was not olympic version ;)
  15. BTW, undertaker received and appreciated, just no conditions for it yet. now, on the powder day - we can surf with my gal on two equal 198 undertakers, yea!... ;) Mark, board is nice, thank you for excellent transaction!

    metal

... and die young. what about mega-fragility of this boards? seems 20 days is a practical limit, and soft snow + metal bindings is a death for them
  17. that's board bought new near two weeks ago. yes, owner think he overpress the nose in the carve, but this is no reason for ANY board to break like that.
  18. yesterday friend of mine broke his almost new donek fc2 179 in almost mellow carve. inside view for those who interested (text - in russian, posting here just for photos) http://www.mustag.ru/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=15150
  19. got that Alu beauty! it's definitely oxygen - ptex design is from older late-90 oxys, crafstsmanship of the board seems like it's prototype or some one-off, not a serial board oxygen word is cnc machined off Alu topsheet! real nice overall. as of geometry (metered myself): 155.5 contact 17.9 waist -5mm taper - REVERSE! 12m radius (off NateW calc) 46-50cm stance seems like softer flex, for rider around 60kg reverse stiffnes - !!! - very stiff nose and softish tail will try it soon noone else seen that deck???
  20. sorry Dave, I'll do my best to not let it fall: we'll need some cruiser for enormous siberian powder. now we optimize the ways of half-thru-the-globe shipment...
  21. beaten up 4 year old donek axis 182 is my LOVELY resort all-ride board, esp. in mogul fields and open glades. i'm 200lbs pretty aggressive rider. if I take single board to big mountain with offpiste - it's axis for sure.
