I lived in Typhoon alley for 4 years. I think we spent more than 10% of our time without power so gathering all the materials for survival was just smart. If you can go with an LP generator life would be good. We have a membership to a CSA, we garden and we can a lot of stuff

this is a truly sad thing, I go out of my way now to skate product that goes agains this trend but a result is that good product lasts longer which rarely allows a higher price to make up for the volume that cheap crap supports.

still on the road to recovery from my ankle last year.....I may get out this year but I lack the motivation to really push myself after my failure last year I want to feel really strong before I commit to a day on the snow again

the only think I don't do is a base grind....file guides help prevent mishaps. The rest is fun or at least cathartic

I bought a couple of pounds of OneBallJay Fluoro/graphite wax years ago....I still have plenty so that's what I use....smells like rootbeer

Jeep Liberty CRD, the lower COG of the diesel makes it so much better in the snow than the gas model my neighbor has (at least from experience in my little part of the world).

I used to teach photography, my favorite thing to do for semi experienced folks is limit their options and send them out to capture people working. usually I'd take away all but a single fixxed lens and a flash. the photos we got in return was worth listening to all the whining

a good photographer is someone who understands lighting and composition enough that they aren't using the uzi method of photography. I'm not saying that every picture I take is perfect just that I have a good idea of what's going to work and more importantly what isn't going to work.

yeah there is a guy on my local hill who does that as well, really a nice thing to watch and he does it like its no big deal. None of the other park monkeys have a clue about turning sadly.
