  1. Very very interested! Are you willing to make it shipping included to Quebec City? And do you accept Paypal?
  2. Très très cool le vidéo!!! Mat, est-ce que tu rides avec un fullface et un manteau beige? Wassup Martin! Hope to see you at a race this summer... :D
  4. I've been driving manual Subarus wagons for the past 18 years. First one was a Loyale 4WD, and now I'm driving my second Legacy AWD. I have bought them all used and they have all lasted me a long time. I will NEVER go back to a front or rear wheel drive for winter driving. The Legacy wagon does have a roomier (longer) cargo area than the Forrester. I chose the Legacy over the Outback because parts like tires and brakes are cheaper around here. You can travel 3 persons comfortably with gear and several boards up to 185cm. I love Subarus...
  5. Pretty good! I'll send you an email as to not hijack your thread. Very nice Kessler, by the way...
  6. Snowcoach, is your name Mark? If so, I think we may have met at the 2007 World Slalom Skateboarding Championship in NC... :)

Very very cool BlueB!!! It's pretty similar to a Fullbag slalom board. Main difference is that I keep the front concave constant all the way to the back where the back foot toes rest, to have the gas pedal effect. Then the back foot concave kicks in to create the spoontail. There's no flat surface anywhere.
  8. I know. I was just stating that the slot thingy has been going on for a while. ;) I might even add the main reason that type of mount (or better said, board shape) was "invented" was to avoid smashing and delaminating the fragile tips of drop-through boards when hitting a curb, and not to slide the trucks in. The baseplate and hardware take the blunt of the shock, which is not necessarily a good thing as far as I'm concerned.
  9. SC8, from France, used to do the slot/dropmount a long time ago.
  10. Spltfire R3 is my favorite all time slalom truck! You have it pretty much spot on. I ran the 35° base with 10° to 15° dewedge. I use the 28° now. No need to flip it and it was not designed for it. Tracker Stims, Venom Eliminators, JimZ bottoms.I use different mixes of the following bushings, depending on the type of course and speed of the hill: - green Radikal (90a) reshaped like JimZ bottom - black Radikal (95a) reshaped like JimZ bottom - green Venom Eliminator (93a) - pink Venom Eliminator (97a) Keep in mind that I'm very very heavy. Combo I use the most is the double black Rads. Basically, stepped bushings work the best. But you need to find out what duro works for you. They can be made to feel pretty similar at regular slalom speeds (35 - 45 km/h). But the R1 is the only Split that gave me speed wobbles at very high GS speeds (65 - 70 km/h) so traded it for one more R3.I saw some of your slalom vids. Very cool to see an active slalom scene in BC again. It is cool to see Malcolm back on a slalom board. Say hi to him for me at your next session.
  11. One more vote for the Burton Driver X.

  13. And a couple of vids from the race (to keep this thread on track ) featuring first timers, veteran riders, some very fast racers (like Wavechaser and Louis Ricard), and one very FAT bastard (that would be me...). http://www.vimeo.com/12595468
  14. I'm stoked you found one Skully! Next production run of the D.o.G. should be ready sometime in August.

Splitfire R3 does not have a spherical in the hanger, the Splitfire Pro does. The R3 is by far my favorite hybrid and GS truck, up front with a wedged 50° baseplate (and some mods to the hanger) and in the back with a slightly dewedged 28° baseplate. That being said, I'm one of the rare ones who likes it as a front truck but it sure works for me.
  16. Skully, I'm out of the D.o.G. but a new run is scheduled for production soon. I'll post on the various forums as soon as they are ready.
  17. And Skully, nice #2 Stinger! The #1 belongs to legendary Z-boy Wentzle Ruml... :D
  18. Are you talking about the longboards? I can't keep them in stock right now. As soon as a production run is done, it disappears. A fresh batch of Elise, and the first run of TM-37 and Fôboo have been shipped last week to a bunch of US and canadian shops.
  19. Yes, that would be me. :) Kicktail is nowhere near as steep as an Axe. It's more of a smooth bend with concave all the way to the tip, like a spoontail. With your rear foot over the truck at around a 40° angle, it feels like it's resting in a big spoon. The comment I get the most is that the position feels completely natural.

  21. I'm interested in those. Would they fit any of the newer bindings?
  22. :lol:Yeah! And to make it worst, they were dayglow orange. I also had a pair of leopard print. Punk rock baby! Seriously, what made me wear those back then was that we spent all day hiking to ride. Wearing a hat made me sweat way to much. So earmuffs were the solution. The fact that I still had hair back then also helped...
  23. I used to have Hanson boots. Late 70s early 80s, I think.http://www.uvm.edu/skivt-l//vault/Equipment_Dustbin/hanson_73b.jpg
  24. Yes, that's pretty much what I meant to say, but better  (I suck at trying to translate my french thoughts to english writings at 1AM).But it seems I was wrong in assuming that most BX boards have larger 12 - 14m sidecuts. Sidecuts in the 9 to 9.5m range with a fairly long effective edge is what I prefer on groomers. I've been riding a shape I designed myself as my main board for the past 10 years. It has a 9.05m sidecut with 144cm effectice edge and 6mm taper. I have it in a couple different flex patterns. I absolutely love it.
  25. Why would that be Jack? I don't see BX boards as specifically designed to carve with softies on groomers. There's usually only 4 or 5 carved turns on a BX course, and they are drawn out AND banked. They basically seem, to me, to be designed with a long effective edge and large sidecut radius (by softboot standards) in as compact a size as possible to combine good edge hold in those long banks, stability at speed, and manoeuverability in the bumps, jumps, hips, and rollers. For me, 12 - 14m sidecuts are not fun to carve on groomers in softboots. But I'm sure they are great with the levarage of hardboots and can't wait to give it a try next season.
