WOW!! https://www.adventure-journal.com/2022/08/searching-for-waves-along-a-frigid-freshwater-coast/?utm_source=MFF+Newsletter+Audience&utm_campaign=618adb9f72-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_10_09_06_48_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_e1652d42eb-618adb9f72-59061765&mc_cid=618adb9f72&mc_eid=f263fe75b1
  2. Nice one West !! looks around 40 30 angles...they are getting closer all the time, the Sticks are allowing the SB to do what is needed...
  3. well yes, I like to use a Centered stance as well, probably most of the time in fact, no matter what, it is those FRONT Edges that are initiating the turns, when people first start snowboarding, or a lot of people when riding Pow, are just kicking the back foot, back and forth, so, setting the forward edge with the back foot can work, if the weight is still forward I presume...and Modern Racing equipment is now using the back foot to initiate turns...OK
  4. I need an Explanation here please, I use the Nose or Front of the boards Edges, to initiate my turns, only using the back to complete the Carve, or going over a bump use the back to re engage after landing sometimes...
  5. Wow, wish I had one of these, back in the day
  6. Wonderful...the Helmet and Body Armor seem to be a good Idea...I would be careful of Dips and Speed Bumps at first...
  7. Innovations come from ignoring the norm...
  8. That's when Milkland was Groomed side to side every night...and basically deserted
  9. Pow is Special, Chris C from B at Baldface by Dustin Lalik
  10. Pretty sure, Milkland has the only Raven Snowboarder in the country? of course he spends most of his time, Catching Air...
  11. sometimes, somedays, everything is just right...
  12. 7 before they showed up is a personal record...
  13. IMHO I would equate the SB carving vids here to Classical Music, where as the Typical Herky Jerky HB FIS racing vids. to a Heavy metal sound...there are HB racing courses that allow really good Flow through the gates via Slope and Set, but, that is not the norm...actually many here years ago pleaded for a more GS approach to Gate settings...there are more ACTUAL Carving turns here on this Thread, watching HB racing with people flailing all over and skidding their turns out of necessity is quite unpleasant to watch, adding of course that I am not attacking the Athletes, only the courses they are forced to use...it was the same with skiing, sometimes the sets were just ridiculous...
  14. Cloudbreak... salt water is 60+ lbs. per Cubic foot, when it is moving that becomes exponential... The Energy coming up the Face requires Tow in...
  15. seriously, try running gates with your hands behind your Hips, yea, the parties over when not running gates we can get too relaxed, but calling that out on these vids. to put some kind of Critique on some Beautiful riding, is simply being a tad judgmental...more than anything West, all these Vids. you post show a lot of Happy People Carving turns...Thank You
  16. that is Awesome Myles!!! Reminded me though, of the 24 hour races here in Aspen years ago...always would awaken in the middle of the night, watching through my telescope from across the valley on Red Mt, for an hour or so, an eerie scene it was, with the mountain partially lit up by giant floods in appropriate placements for Downhill runs...Teams of two, basically following each other in the dark and full speed The record I believe was 81 or 82 runs one year that is around 243 miles and 265,000 vertical ft.
