  2. Better to look at, but not quite the moves.
  3. The Norwegian alpine ski team dancing to Thriller Any thoughts? Comments? Is this what to expect at the LCS on Saturday?
  4. Give me a final deadline, a little prodding from Stan ....I'll commit for Saturday. Saturday, right? I'll need a pass - if not to late. Looking forward to meeting these LCI folks I keep hearing about on the other side of the hill
  5. I was having the same issues. I found the following thread very detailed and interesting as it follows the trial process of making the recommended subtle changes. http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=24939&highlight=heelside+chatter
  6. I'm going to commit and say I'll be at A-Basin tomorrow morning. Otherwise, I don't seem to be getting out lately. I'll be on my KESSLER...........That's right, somehow I scored a new ride Thanks David!
  7. As long as there is a motor running (i'm assuming), why not incorporate a groomer into the design. Continuous fresh corderoy!
  8. (Pokkis) - Sorry, it's only a still picture (not me), not a video. I guarantee, one can carve with a kite. (Lowrider) - Not sure if you were responding to the kiteboarding picture, but anyway, yes, some do use the kites to go uphill, ski or board down (again, not me though).
  9. How about a large circle? So the carving never stops? Banks? It's called "tying a rope onto a snowmobile and getting someone to drive you around all day until your wrist is f#%ked" where I come from It's called kiteboarding here. As long as there is wind, none-stop carving:1luvu:
  10. Maybe because of the Olympics, went to Keystone() with my wife (CAT) to ski some bumps. Have not been on skis since I switched to snowboarding last year, then to hardboots and carveboards this year. Not to sound too pretentious or smug, but skiing today felt very remedial and archaic clumsy equipment. Carved turns just feel so-so on the skiis. Was fun to get in the bumps again, but wished I was on my bx snowboard instead. I am seeing a number of you feel your skiing has improved after carvingboard experience. Reverse for me. On skis, I was always working on carved turns and edging - no powder for me. I think this definitely helped me get a quick grasp on carving boards. Now, I tried skis again, and what I previously thought was a good carve or edge just feels kind of ho-hum. I hope this doesn't sound too elitist. That's not my intention. I have a long way to go as far as my carving goes. On another note, FYI, those of you that like to carve "Starfire" at Keystone (Fin) - Starfire has been upgraded to a BlackDiamond now.
  11. If you're style is to actually carve the moguls/bumps, I would recommend a slalom ski. I've been using the HEAD WorldCup SL 160cm (I'm 5'-8") with good results. - Also what Bode Miller skiis on I believe. I also have'nt been on the skiis for a year now - started boarding - But as I am watching the Olympic Moguls tonight (right now), I'm thinking of skiing some bumps again soon. Carving them through them though, not killing my knees.
  12. What would one use the toe and heel blocks for? Replace part of the original binding? Just to make it clear - thankfully - these were just "extra parts". The bindings are fully intact and functional. Thanks for the answers. It reminds me of a segment on This Old House where the experts have to guess what an odd object is used for.
  13. These pieces (only one set shown) came with some used td2's I recently purchased. Can someone tell me what they are used for? My assumption is that the rubber w/metal disks can go between binding and board. Are the other steel plate pieces to replace part of the bindings? If so, what for?
  14. hustler had an unfortunate incident with a car, so will soon be reincarnated as a mini. Beginning of CAT's (wife) Mini quiver
  15. Do they just automatically leave Keystone off that list because they never seem to get any snow?
  16. <TABLE border=0 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0><TBODY><TR><TD> </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> She looks like she's O.K. to me
  17. The good news for me is that the occurance of a shark attack where I kiteboard is even more rare........A frozen lake in Colorado. I guess that would be my ONE advantage over being on a nice warm beach playing in the surf:rolleyes:. Then again, I did have a dog wonder out and pee on my kitebag today:nono: Does that qualify as any type of wildlife attack?
  18. "I know I want to say something really profound here..." Something wrong here...just saying:lol::)
  19. :lol:Sounds very, very familiar. I started carving this season - now have 8 boards, 3 sets boots. etc. - And still looking.
  20. I haven't been on a unicycle for a few years. Sold mine around 2004. Wasn't using it much living downtown. Now that I live in CO, and trails out the back door, you've got me jonesin' for the offroad type:1luvu:. I'm thinking a great way to walk the dogs. Something for me to think about for summer. Although, I also see some of you are pushing the seasonal envelope for these.
  21. I believe I saw a couple pairs presently on ebay. If I remember, they may have popped up under a search of "race snowboard" or "snowboard plate".
  22. Isn't it all about size?
  23. After I posted, I checked out your carving video. You were on the lake this last weekend. Not much carving in that video. I was also out there with an 11m, but also decided best not to put it in the air. Sunday was definately . To return to the original thread - Today I just picked up a Prior 166 twintip board to use for kiting.
  24. Tpalka, Let me know if your still coming to Summit county. The schedule for a good day is carving in the morning (usually A-basin or Keystone), kiting on Lake Dillon in the afternoon. Rick Thiel rickythecat at ymail dot com 970 688 two zero four zero
  25. Ace can definitely carve on his skwall! Unfortunately, I missed the Basin today. Thanks for the video; after watching it, I went to the next video link on YouTube. Unfortunately, while I'm watching this other clip, I realize that I'm trying to pick up some technique tips from a guy dressed like a bunny! (no offense to SkwallGuy). Then I watched it again, since all these guys knew what they were doing.;) I'm going to try for the Basin tomorrow morning. Rick
