  1. Rode this setup for first time this morning. Better but still a bit of grief getting in... definitely shopping for some step-ins to match up as rear foot bindings.

    Congrats Sasha

nice! was very warm here in Ontario today, rain and now we have a snowstorm (Ottawa). How big is that Winterstick board? seems pretty long / wide but maybe b/c the racers are all junior / smaller people?
  3. Interesting - I didn't think there'd be that much variance but I guess there would be given the relatively significant difference in design. It's why I guess I shouldn't consider mixing a TD3 Sidewinder step in either.
  4. I have a pair of TD3's now. I'm hoping to make two pairs of hybrid bindings for my two primary boards, standard front, step in rear... So really hoping to find a complete set.
  5. Interested in finding a set of lightly used Bomber Trench Digger TD3 step-ins, ideally with the steel receivers. I had grief with my regular TD3s and the heel bail not staying up. I think I've fixed that at least temporarily but with the short runs at my local hill, really seeing the benefits of step-ins. Let me know what you've got and how much shipping is to K2W1A9 Ottawa, Canada. Not in a rush but rather than waiting for something to pop up in FS section, indicating my interest here Also, is there any concern about mixing a standard TD3 front with a TD2 rear? If not, I would consider TD2 step-ins as well.
  6. Yup, thanks. I'm trying to decide how long to go. I have 4 carving boards now, an Alp 56, Ultra Prime 62, UP 68 and Prior WCR 175. I'm 5'6" and feel the 175cm can be a bit on the unwieldy side sometimes (eg when sitting and have to flip the board over etc). I'm thinking Contra 166 or 168 currently. Waist likely 18cm. I have the smallest UPZ shell (24MP liners). 155-160lbs (covid weight), should be 150-155 max normally. Ideally 145lbs race weight (for cycling) but unrealistic given my predilection for beer and fried foods
  7. thanks for that @bigwavedave I should have also asked how tall/heavy are you and boot size?
  8. Was crusty Sat AM after the warm Friday and subsequent freeze, but it was decent by midday. Not sure what's going to happen with the forecasted rain tomorrow and Thurs... The snow sounds good though Special Weather Statement Issued at 15:08 Tuesday 15 February 2022 Messy mix of wintry weather beginning late Wednesday. Hazards: Rain, 15 to 25 mm, late Wednesday through Thursday evening. Freezing rain mixed with ice pellets possible, Thursday afternoon and evening. Snow, at times heavy, Thursday afternoon through Friday morning. Snowfall accumulations of 10 to 20 cm possible. Reduced visibility in snow and blowing snow. Icy and slippery surfaces. When: Late Wednesday through Friday morning. Impacts: Road closures are possible, Utility outages may occur. @Tabatha, @unitednihilists @Hilux @Peter V you guys and gal still around? would be great to get some of the old crew together again
  9. hey Dave, what are the specs on your Contra 166? I'm in process of ordering one (waiting on reply from Bruce) and trying to get more reference points.
  10. @Corey or @Jack M, can we give him the boot please?

I didn't see the ad - anyone got a link to it?
  14. Did you get a reply? I've sent a couple messages now with no response...
  15. Yes @1xsculler, it's your pic that's got me thinking. The UPZ FLO is well made. I'd like to really give them a proper whirl first before cutting them though. I do have my old Raichle Thermoflex that I might switch back to if I can't get my toes sorted. They're 25.0 though and while comfortable, were probably too big (long). If I remold for these UPZ boots, unsure if I'll lose the snug fit I've got now with the UPZ liners. Trimmed
  16. So I bought a used pair of RC11, came with 23 liners, bought some new 24-24.5 UPZ FLO liners from Dan. They're snug. Had them heat molded a couple times but the inner fabric kept folding downwards so I smoothed them back out at home and now just letting them self mold. No heel lift and I'm overall satisfied. Still getting used to the flex with the springs and have ordered orange race springs to help stiffen them up. My biggest concern currently is that I can't really wiggle my toes and they're going numb after more than an hour... My foootbed is a 25 and likely pulling the liners taught. Before I try slitting the top of the liners, I think I'll try shortening / trimming the footbed. My finger is pointing to top of big toe. Any other ideas? Footbed before trimming
  17. Fixored. At least temporarily. Flipped the wave washers around and now there's enough tension to keep the bail up.
  18. @Wolf, my boots are like new, so no wear to sole blocks. That said, it does look like mine are higher at 35mm. So that would be a contributing factor. But the bails are definitely 'falling down' to the lowest spot in their range and if I can correct that, I should be good.
  19. Ah, I see the wave washers @barryj. They're pretty flat now, makes sense and likely the root cause of my grief. I'm a cyclist so have tubes on hand. I'll give that idea a whirl, thanks!
  20. Can I just glue a wedge of sorts in the gap to keep the ball propped up? Piece of zip tie or similar?
