just wondering what these "spoilers" actually do? my indys have them and i wasn't sure of the purpose they serves. Somehow I doubt it works like the spoiler on a car

My 26's fit my foot perfect, but I have the opposite problem. I can barely squeeze my huge calves in. I havent molded my liners yet, so that could be part of the solution. By the way, couldnt remolding your liners help all you thin-calved people out? you could remold the liner with the top straps very loose in order to make the volume of the liner greater, then once the molding is finished, tighten them up. It should help a little

Yea, the placement of the heel receiver was the main thing that made me think they were not for hardboots, but I figured I would post to be sure. Thanks for confirming this guys. It isn't true that the heels interfere with bails? I've never tried it myself, since I dont have intecs, but I have heard other people say they do interfere, as in the retractable bolts make the heel too wide to fit the boot into the heel bail

why intecs? I was thinking FAST because I hear about a lot of people having intec cables snap on them. Also, if you use intec heels on your boots, and you have, say, a second board with bails, you have to switch back to your old heels in order to use bail bindings, because the heels interfere with the bails.

Someone emailed me saying they have FAST bindings, but they just seem wrong. As far as I can see there's no toe bails( he has them "new in the box", and the heel connectors seem to be in the wrong place. Are they just an older model or something? or is this not FAST bindings at all? The seller doesn't seem to know for sure, he says he is selling them for someone else. I just figured I would get some input from the BOL community, and hopefully some people who have FAST bindings. For reference, this is what the current snowpro fast look like: Any input is welcome. ok guys, thanks for putting my fears to rest. I was afraid I wasnt going to get a chance to try my new gear out before our amazing drop thats close to 4 inches melts! Guess I was just being paranoid about the fit

Anyone know of any bootfitters in the eastern/central PA area? just got my new deeluxe indys in the mail today and need to get them molded to my feet before this snow melts!

So UPS just dropped off my first pair of hardboots today(yay!) that I bought used here on BOL. They are DEELUXE Indys and are in great condition, but after trying them on and snapping them into my bindings, I noticed something that concerns me. The concern I have is regarding the connection between the deeluxe boots and my f2 bail bindings. It seems like the bails are too wide for both the front and back of the boots. I'm concerned that the inexact fit could, in a worst case scenario, cause the boot to pop out of the binding while riding. Both the front and back bails seem to be too wide for the boot, and their is a few millimeters of space between the bail and the boot(about a centimeter in the back). Is this just the way bail bindings are supposed to fit? I don't have enough experience hardbooting to know this, but when I've rented gear before, I dont remember seeing gaps like that. My main concern is in a situation where the boot torques or there is a lateral force on the boot that could cause it to pivot. I can tighted the bindings of course, but this does not help close the gaps at all. not to completely change the subject, but while there is talk of lib Tech, I have a question I feel I have to ask, as its been bugging me for some time. I'm guessing some of you have heard of magne-traction. If not, you can go google it. It basically is an edge on the board that is wavy/serrated. Its on some of their boards and though i have never tried it, they claim it adds "more edgehold and control than ever before." I understand it is so that one can ride a detuned board in the park and still have some control when you arent in the park, but has anyone ever tried carving a board with magne-traction? would it be possible, and maybe actually enhance carving, esp on bad conditions like east coast ice?

Since I'm relatively new to carving, I'm interested in reading reviews on gear that I see available. I've already checked the carvers almanac but that's more of an overview of gear and brands, not so much an in-depth test of specific gear, so if anyone knows of anything, I'd love to know. thanks

I got in a bike accident this semester at school. Since its just riding around campus at a leisurely pace and not for a long period of time(from class to class), I typically forgo wearing a helmet. This particular day was no different. I was riding home from class when my rear brake line snapped. Of course it was while riding down a fairly steep hill towards an intersection. Panicked about riding into moving traffic, I smashed down the front brake. The wheel locked up of course and flipped me over the handlebars. Screwed up my arm pretty badly and knocked myself out for a few seconds. I couldn't remember where I lived or the date for a little while after, apparently gave myself a nice concussion. The point is that you never know what can happen. A brake line snapping randomly? I'd never even heard of that happening. Obviously, this was on a bike, but as was already stated, we go even faster on the slopes. Also, as most of us know, ice can be just as hard as concrete. Anything can happen on the slopes. You can fall, you can hit someone, you can lose control and end up meeting a tree a little too personally, and other things beyond your control happen as well, like someone hitting you. Like they say, even the safest driver in the world can get in an accident due to someone else's stupidity. The only difference between driving and boarding is that we don't have a car, seatbelt, or air bag to absorb our collision

still in search of boots 26 or 26.5, willing to pay up to $200(maybe more) depending on the type, condition, and extras like liners or heels. would prefer boots that are intec compatable(removable heel) and have 4 buckles if possible

There's not a huge difference between the two, but I like the idea of a smaller sidecut for narrow or crowded days myself, especially since you aleady have a 12 scr board if you want larger turns for whatever reason. But obviously, theres not a huge difference between 9.5 and 9.8 though, and combined with the similar lengths, I doubt you would notice a difference if you could ride both back to back. Whichever is cheaper would be my deciding factor... but then again I'm a poor college student:o

that really sucks, but at least, for the sake of the passengers, it was a gondola, not a ski lift. Can you imagine being thrown out of a ski lift? there would have been many more injured (especially since many of us don't put down the safety bar), and the passengers that were stuck on the lift would be ice cubes by now
